Hey just want to offer a heads up on removing overlay is to take a heat gun and to heat service being careful not to scorch, and the glue becomes more pliable and removes a lot easier. The video is great I was looking for such to send my son so he could replace the board on his range. Thanks for posting.
Warming the overlay with a Hair Dryer and a Thin Paint Scraper is what i do to remove them, 90% success rate. I just take my time. I've been a Service Tech for 37 yrs. Hope this tip helps everyone.
Had a GE double oven control board ,no longer available so I sent it off had probably 50 wires took a lot of pictures cost about $150 .Turn around little slow during Covid . Now bottom burner bad can’t find UTube looks like need to take the sides off.Ge profile double oven.
Without the schematic, how would I know which relay might be bad. Chase the lines from the elements themselves. If neither element works, would be just one relay. Have a Frigidaire model FEF316ASA that was getting too hot. Then I had to unplug it to get the element to turn off. I think both elements are now shorted. Is there a calibration for the oven switch? I could not find one on the back of the switch.
Hi I got a wall G E oven model number JGRS15GEL3BG. I made the mistake of disconnecting the wires from the Circuit Board and the oven light swith without taking a picture of the order of where they go . Can anyone help me if you know the order they are connected correctly. Thanks.and please take pictures so you don't do the same mistake I did.
I really need your help, if you don’t mind, kind Sir?? I’ve had a FREAK ACCIDENT to happen! Of course , if something like this is going to happen…it’ll definitely happen at MY HOUSE!! I have a GE wall oven…Model # J KP13GOP2BG. What happened is…my husband placed a cast iron skillet in the cabinet above my wall oven!! I opened the cabinet and it slid out and hit the HANDLE on the oven door and shattered the glass! I took the door to the appliance repair shop and they replaced the the reflector and the glass in the door. I had a friend to put the door back on for me, but NOW when I try to use the BAKE or BROIL SETTINGS, the controls light up and allows me to set the temperature, but it doesn’t heat up at all. I was wondering if there may have been a “safety switch” or something that triggered when the glass broke?? Any suggestions?? I’m praying it’s something simple since it cost me nearly $300 just to replace the reflector and the glass! Had no clue that it possibly wouldn’t work after these repairs were made!! 😩😩😩
Thank you for posting this! I went to replace the lightbulb and the unit was on (lazy rookie move I guess) I saw sparks and display shut off. Reset breaker and everything. Burners still work, but no oven and no display still. I think i need to replace the board by something got fried in there but I don't know. Are there any inexpensive fuses I could have blown? It's a newer model ge range. Can Venmo or cashapp you if you can help me not look like an idiot in front of customer thank you

Im trying to find a Control for an electric self cleaning range, GE 164D03147G002 Oven Range RE00CXG001CB Control Board DC143. I sanded the contacts on the relays , so for the time being they are working.
Hi, I have a GE Profile electric drop in range model number JS968SK4SS, the stove top and burner knobs work but the keypad is completely shutdown, so none of the buttons, clock or oven doesn’t work. Is there an easy fix to this problem?
@@DCApplianceRepair they are almost impossible to find. My oven, even though it's 12 years old, is in new condition, and I would prefer to have it repaired. I believe the control panel needs replacing. But that has been difficult to find the exact one. Model # jks06b0f3bb if that's important

You may just need a heating element. Unplug the machine, you may need to pull it out. Sometimes you can loosen then 1/4 screws going to the element, and check continuity there without having to pull it out. Have some tape handy if you do it that way. The wire can pull back in with you.
I need help😩 While cleaning I pushed my stove my back & then heard a popping sound. Afterwards a smell of burned came from it. Then my oven completely stopped working. I have a GE Profile Electric Stove & everything else is working except the oven since its powered by a smart pad. HELP IM DESPERATE😭

Can an older I’ve (GE) be retrofitted or upgraded so that it will do self cleaning?
Not that I am aware of. I recommend not using self clean. It is very ruff on the components, I Repair a lot units after self clean was used.

No there not that hard. You have to hard wire them back in is all. They just drop in the same hole.

Hello and thank you for commenting today. I suggest going and making sure that your oven breaker is turned off.
What has happened there has probably been a short in your power cord. I would call a technician to get that repaired

Better yet don't make the mistake we made and bought faulty g e garbage, read the reviews people, not just the stoves!
