Hey Brother Mike I'm a subscriber to your channel. I enjoy your videos. I'm just starting my Appliance Repair Business. I took a couple of full online courses and I'm pretty handy. I'm in Oklahoma and I wanted to ask if you didn't mind recommending some good Nationwide 3rd party warranty companies that pay for parts pay on time etc.? It seems that alot of these online alumni cliques don't want to share this information. I learn alot from you and others in the field. It would be really helpful if you shared this info. If you have already covered this I apologize. If so would you direct me to the video you did so? Thanks in advance Mike. Continued Success!
Walton, how’s your appliance repair business coming along? My husband and I opened our business last year part time. This month we finally pulled the gun and he put in his 2 weeks notice at his job. This week marks our 2 weeks officially fulltime. We have been with 2-10 and Choice for this past year and just started with American Home Shield 2 weeks ago. Out of all 3, we 100% like AHS the best. Choice pays once a month via check, AHS pays 3-5 days after invoicing for a 2% cut or every 1st and 15th, both direct deposit. 2-10 is good as well but we don’t get much work with them in our area (San Antonio TX)
2-10 pays within 10 days with a 2% cut as well or you can wait 30 days with no cut. I hope you’re still pursuing this business, it’s been an extreme blessing and step up financially in our lives.
Great content I wanted to know where you got these 3 tools from . 1. The flashlight 2. The hose clamp for saving time on drain pump hoses. 3. Front loader spring remover ( red handle pliers)?
Yes and that’s mainly due to freezer temperature if it’s too cold in freezer that will most likely make the line freeze and yes it works great but changing the temps will prevent it from freezing
Haven't ran into a job that required a spanner wrench or tub puller yet. Most of my customers would rather by new than dump $300+ into a repair. What's your labor rate?
I've got 2 of the short ones and one of the longer ones. Definitely lifesavers and makes the job easier. Have the handtool version of each size but rarely use them except for specific tasks.
The company I work for is about to gear up for sealed system work. Any thoughts or suggestions on what is a must to get. I have not seen an extensive list of items. Also Lokring appears to be the next biggest thing. We are planning on getting tools for all 3 setups: Lokring, oxy acetylene, and propane torch. Each is good for certain types of brazing/soldering.
Wait a whole lot of money Mike. Hold up one second When you say I have this drill, which is dedicated to one use. You just went over it. You didn't even say what the bit is. What length? Is it a Phillips screwdriver tip a flathead? Is it a socket? You got to run this one one more time Mike. Hit me back.
Ok so one drill is a 1/4-5/16 bit I use that can be flipped around the other drill I use for everything else Phillips flat head start tip etc. Follow me on Instagram I have a post where I get detailed on some of the tools I have but trust me it's over a long period of time you gotta invest in yourself to be the best
Mike what is your email or cell phone number? I need to ask you about what tools I should buy the better brand name. I'm going to an appliance repair school called Dyer. I live in Texas. They gave me a list of what I should buy. But I just need some additional tips and what you think from your point of view.
The best place to ask me questions is my Instagram messages but I wouldn't worry about getting the best tools now just focus on having everything on the list and any lil extra you can get because your always gonna upgrade them trust me start cheap to mid but honestly there's no direct tools for appliance repair but just take a look at my bag you'll see what I mean
@@MikeCheckAppliance I'm trying but you didn't have em. You was like yall know what that is. But not everybody, we watch to learn. Tell us what you talking about
If I were you I’d watch all the tool videos you can on appliance repair not just mines then you will compile a good list but you gotta wanna do it start with the list the school gave you you should be fine but I also have another tool video aswell sorry if I’m not the best at being descriptive but I’m just adding to the many other tool vids that’s on RUclips that’s more descriptive than mines
@@MikeCheckAppliance But I like your style, demeanor, attitude. Strike another 1 up. And let me know when it's done. Plenty will appreciate it. You had stuff in there like aLG something, Kenmore specific. Idk what the hell it's called. You got to help us. This is why people follow. Follow the best. Don't turn your back on me Mike

Flashlight I got at Walmart hose clamp from harbor freight and spring remover from amazon and thanks man I appreciate it
@@MikeCheckAppliance thanks I appreciate it
That tool for frozen water lines, does it work ok ? My thought is if the line in the freezer door froze up it will probably do it again ?
Yes and that’s mainly due to freezer temperature if it’s too cold in freezer that will most likely make the line freeze and yes it works great but changing the temps will prevent it from freezing
What model meter is that one there??
Do you use the hydrolic cart like an oven Dolly or have a separate oven Dolly? Cheers
I use it like a oven dolly don’t use it much but it’s all I need at least for now
Where is you get that 1/4 to 5/16 bit for your right angle

No I don’t I only charge old fridges temporarily for customers who dont want to pay to get it fix
@@MikeCheckAppliance I am guessing that is off the books? And How much for the temp fix?
Naw not off the books it’s just a service I provide and it depends but I go as low as 135$-225 depends on the time and the unit

That cheater cord is official
Haven't ran into a job that required a spanner wrench or tub puller yet. Most of my customers would rather by new than dump $300+ into a repair.
What's your labor rate?
Depends on the job but yea your right most cod customers wouldn’t fix but a lot warranty companies do so I’m still using it lol
@@MikeCheckAppliance We just picked up a warranty company, everything else has been COD. So I'll see a lot more different repairs here soon.
What tool do you use to open the ring clamp that secures the dryer drum wheel?
Damn lol I have a tool for that actually it’s in my bad in front part green handle I rarely use them but I have a tool for those
6:00 no it didn’t make sense?lol. U got a lot of tools bro

I've got 2 of the short ones and one of the longer ones. Definitely lifesavers and makes the job easier. Have the handtool version of each size but rarely use them except for specific tasks.
U do sealed system work much?
No not as much as I did when I worked for a company next year I'm thinking about getting back into more but mostly for high end
@@MikeCheckAppliance Cool man thanks. High end seems like the place to be.
