everyone complaining about why it sounds so mushy, here's why: the demonstration is only using a bare Pcb on top of a soft deskpad, so there's no case or plate or anything amplifying the sound. A complete build with the band aid mod doesn't sound like this.
now most times band aid is fine but im not sure why if its the stabs of the switch but it sounds mushy and also kinda like ti sounds scratch to me i would rather go for the bottom still no rattle and sound nice and clean
I recently bought GMK screw in stabs and I clipped them. It's better if you do because it keeps the stabs flush with the pcb and won't damage or create noise when you press.
The problem with the band-aid mod or any other 'cushioning' mod for the stabs is they might sound really good, but they sound too distinctively different to the rest of the keyboard, mainly the alphas. I used my GMMK Pro stock (with the stock pads) and then with other cushioning mods. Then I got sick and tired of the sound so I removed all the mods including removing the stock pads and now they sound consistent with the rest of the keys. Much better. But it's very subjective.
@@chumpapii thank you so much for the speedy reply! May I know if you prefer band-aiding the PCB or not to for better sounds? I’m currently using a Kemove Shadow (Switch plate clip in stabilisers)
@@adrianlee438 I'd recommend band-aiding it especially for plate mount stabs which is present in the kemove kb. I also would add a tape in the plate wherein the stabs go to get rid of the stab wobbling. Watch wildcat's modding videos like the keychron k6 mod. You'll see what I'm talking about.
@@zif5x Holee mod is when you put a piece of tape of whatever inside the stab to stop the rattle. Band-aid mod is when you put tape or whatever between the pcb and the stabs to cushion the bottom out

The problem is the gmk screw in stabs they are so bad even after u lube it. I'd suggest you get the durok v2s or the everglide stabs
Did you clip them?

name of the pcb? link where to buy 1
The bottom one sounds like a hit marker lol
Keycaps?
not the md thats mushy , i think its a tactile switch and he lubed the legs
it happened to my akko lavenders
why would lubing the legs make the switch feel mushy
@@olivertrees Cuz the lube causes the switch to loose tactility
@@yj5160 how does reducing tactility cause a switch to feel mushy
@@olivertrees Are you asking this in a genuinely curious tone or a mocking, unbelievable-kinda-attitude tone?

its a good mod but it sounds and feels rlly mushy

Did you apply grease on the band-aid?
Does that mean applying grease on the bandaid can soft the problem ?
@@adrianlee438 I'm not entirely sure but I think so and it helps with sound.

@@adrianlee438 and if you add grease, make sure to add just the right amount. It can get mushy if you overlube the band aid.

I can't believe we use to bandaid mod. That trend needs to die and stay in 2018.
