Cool.....we have the game & I can't remember the last time I read/heard anyone talking about it. I also don't know what motivated me to buy it but like you, happy I did.

Hey there! Yeah, it doesn't get a ton of buzz, but I'm pleasantly surprised by it. I've been looking for a way to get Age of Galaxies, its sequel, but so far no luck. Missed the KS. Oh well...
      Thanks!

@@hairbrainedgames3127 Hey, thanks for the info....love what I see of the artwork on that one! FYI, I checked the Kickstarter page & it looks like they extended the PM out to the 15th? Also looks to be available via straight preorder, you kind of have to hunt around their KS page but I did find a preorder link. So if you are interested you could go that way. For me, I typically take my chances & stick to buying games when they come to retail. I spend enough just doing that, never mind adding KS pledges and/or preorders to the tab :)

I seen this one on Amazon sale alot. This game does have interest but my concern is it will not stay in my collection long. I feel this won't be heavy enough to keep my interest.
By the way, started reading the rulebook and watching some videos for Cuba Libre. I will say it's very intriguing. My only setback is the AI flow chart and amount of rules to remember to implement with each factions operations. I did see GMT is creating a deck of AI cards for the games which by the examples makes things easier to interpret. I will be purchasing this one when released. When Cubra Libra (my first coin game) makes it to retail, I will purchase and muddle through the flowchart until the deck is released. I figure it will easily take an entire day for my first play.
Thanks for the presentation and sharing your thoughts.

When learning a COIN game (especially your first!), I’d strongly advise you to forget about the bots until you gain some familiarity with the factions and their operations. Just play each side best you can. Once you get a feel for what all the actions and special ops do, then you should work in the bots.

@@rockhopper01 thanks for the advise. Going to start tackling my first Coin game next week. I'm not going to rush the process will be patient learning the structure and both factions.

Hey! Late to the game replying, but definitely rockhopper is right. It was easier for me to just simulate all sides before kicking in the bots. The bots add a meta-layer above the regular gameplay that can add complexity my mind couldn't fathom well. Once the actual gameplay part of the four (or two, or three) sides of the COIN factions is familiar, then the bot charts make more sense.
(I'm VERY glad GMT is moving away from flowcharts to their newer more streamlined system).
As for AOC, I definitely can see that as a concern. It's meaty enough to keep me playing, but even so, it won't have the punch that a full 4x game will. A nice appetizer, but sans the entree, it might not satiate the hunger long. ;)
Thanks as always for your thoughts.

@@hairbrainedgames3127 yeah those flowcharts remind me of the 1999's programming diagrams.. lol 😂
Someone provided me a link online version yo AOC to try. Yeah I will pass on that one, not for me. If I change my mind for some reason it is on sale alot at Amazon for $15.
