"Tiny epic civ" is indeed a brilliant and surprisingly undertalked about design. The solo scenarios are challenging and excellent, though wish there were more of them.
I ended up coming across this game back in 2020, from just looking at various civ games, which I enjoy a lot as a genre. Unfortunately been unable to get it yet, but it's been in my sights for a while now. Very glad to see you cover it, rahdo! It'll be good that it get more attention from this
I just finish my prototype and was wondering how do I go about sending you a copy for review ones I have my first prints done. Thank you in advance As a note game involves construction with worker placement, budgeting player progression and it’s for 1-4 players 30-60 min playtime
I was researching this game because it was/has been on sale on Amazon. Ended up getting Age of Galaxy because supposedly has more player interaction - which you may not like. I haven't played my copy yet tho - still plugging away at our Oathsworn campaign.
Omg I love this game. I’ve been playing it for years. The solo is decent but i think plays better multiplayer and is even better the more people that play. I finally decided to pick up Age of Galaxy. I just got it today and from the gameplay I have watched I think this one will also be a banger!
I agree. Never heard of it before coming across a recommendation on a Reddit thread. This game would be AMAZING with some decent artwork. Sadly, I do not think that will ever happen.
Inheritors and Age of Galaxy are two other small box games from the same designer and team. Eila and Something Shiny. Terrorscape. They are putting up another KS civ called Epochs soon.
Tbh I've never really got into any of the Tiny Epic games after galaxy. But this game really got me hooked and I think it blow any Tiny Epic game out of the water (And it fits easily in the box unlike the newer tiny epic games).
at the end of every round there's a comparison of who's got the highest war stat, and whoever has the lowest one loses one population meeple. so there's no direct attacking at all, and we weren't really bothered by it :)
sadly, not in Canada edit: So the seller does ship to canada, for a shipping price reasonable enough that I bought it. Hopefully there won't be too much border shenanigans. Thanks Rahdo for the impulse buy ;)
I really like the game, but I'd say it is strangely dry. I can't put my finger on what could be changed that would make it more fun to play, but I just feel like something is missing. Maybe a new "coat of paint" would make it better. That said, the game is still very good, with very crunchy decision making.
I backed it back in the day & really enjoyed it when I played against my wife. Love the diverse number of civilizations that are available.

I picked this one up on KS years ago and I was very happy to have this one in my collection

I own it, excellent game to finish an evening when too late to restart a big game and lots of fun!
This a good game, I'm currently addicted to the solo mode. And there's a free browser based version online!
oh wow you're right, this is really nice: boardwebgames.com/aoc/ :)
This game is a lot of fun but needs a serious aesthetic overhaul. Even the insert is hard to get pieces out of. But the game play is excellent!
Hard agree! A great game in a small package! There's a sci-fi sequel from the same company that is said to be even better.
yup, age of galaxy. i've got to try that one too!
Have you played the follow-up, Age of Galaxy?
nope but its on my list to try
@@rahdoi think i like it even more! Definitely give it a try

well the game is getting a sequel of sorts with EPOCH (same designer, publisher and theme, but much bigger and more complex it looks like)
Love the game. Glad to see it on BGA :)

just played inheritors yesterday and it's great! :)

no offense to scott almes, i really love a lot of his tiny epic games. but if this was part of the tiny epic line it would be the best of them all :)
I liek this one. Many seesm to dislike it for the looks or.. beacuse it is no shiny or whatever. Works fine on Boardgame arena though
You should try the follow up game they did, Age of Galaxy
yup, i'm hoping too! and i just played another game from the designer of this (jeffre cch) called inheritors and it's fantastic too! :)
I'm curious how care bear friendly this is. I'm a bigger care bear than Rahdo.

Played that with a fried who kickstarted it. Never been able to find it to buy it.
you can get it on amazon in the USA for $17 :)
sadly, not in Canada

i hope you like it as much as we did! :)
