Rich Mountain Road and Parson's Branch Road are two must do things in the Cove. We loved them both.

I'm glad to hear this but it irritates me because we were there a few times,,in the same time I would have to ask my wife and our children if they ever remember seeing the roads or the signs because I don't!! That's what irritates me because I love it down there!!!

The Pearl Harbor Tree is probably one of the best hidden jems in the cove and easy to walk to if you know where to park.

Any suggestions for "hidden" hikes or tout spots in mid-April? Visiting for the first time and would love to find a few spots away from people but ready for a fly rod! Will be based out of wears valley.

Hi Todd, check out areas like Cataloochee Creek, Raven Fork or the Middle Prong Little Pigeon River. We find that the NC side of the mountains can be less crowded generally, if you want to venture out that way.
Little River Metcalf Bottoms picnic area is another good spot - but that one may be more crowded. Hope that helps!

Also Abram’s falls has a trail below the falls away from everyone that has some great trout fishing it was once published in field and stream as one of the top fishing spots in the country but wasn’t an easy hike
