I work as Reimbursement/Case Manager nurse in skilled nursing home. If you are under Managed Part A plan, and eventually will need a lot of rehab services and home health services after your rehab from skilled nursing home, Managed care always only pay for 14 days. We have to fight and give detailed reason why this managed care will extend their coverage to 30 days. This is very occasional. I highly advise if you need rehab therapy, please ask the business office manager how to assist you to terminate your manged care policy and convert it to traditional Medicare. Traditional Medicare covers way better in skilled services in Rehab hospital or Skilled Nursing rehab services.

I’m 64 and recently started getting my SS benefits retirement, I can’t afford $174 a month for Medicare, I work a part time job, it’s imposible to live only of the SS alone, and government says they might tax my retirements benefits, not everybody is eligible for Medicaid. The last 3 years I’ve been paying the IRS taxes, it’s getting impossible for retired people live in America, penalties are at a time high, and if you have a pension plan, an IRÁ or something they still tax you….

There are all different types of Medicaid Waivers for the Disabled. Contact DHS/HHS again and inquire about them, please. $40.00 over, shouldn't be enough to totally disqualify you from everything Medicaid!

    • @MyGovExpert

Dual eligible is if you also file for Medicaid from the state. But if you're approaching 65 make sure you also check out Medicare supplement plans to see if you want to switch to those for the rest of your life. Those are the ones I recommend. Let me know if you need help. ed@mygovexpert.com

Medicaid has an income limit. If you don't meet the income limit or provide documentation proving your income , you will get denied. There are some work arounds for the income limits, but you need to work with a lawyer , who specializes in it.
