I never had LN2, but I loved LN1. Decades later, I had the chance to listen to the entire trilogy's OST. What a collection of bangers. In 2024, this live show still has a ton of great fight and energy in it. Bravo!
Nice job to all of you, nice choice of song too, would have to be my most favourite C64 track in the world, Although I am mostly an Amiga fan I love all things Commodore, something people of today will never live through like us, the 80's was the best era and rips my heart to knowing it will never come past again and unlike games today where you play a few times and forget about and go play the next where as memories of Commodore still strong today.... Only Commodore Makes It Possible...
In my 9 year old imagination when I was playing this, this is how I heard the music. If this was on a modern game, it would be hailed as one of the greatest game theme tunes ever.
Back in those days, you had to come up with a strong melody as you 'only' had the three channels and sythesised sounds. We have a great legacy to enjoy!
Matt Gray went back and remade a lot of Last Ninja 2 tunes and they're insanely awesome; you should check it out: soundcloud.com/mattgrayc64/matt-gray-last-ninja-2-central-park-in-game-new-preview
I have commented on this vid earlier, but today I stumbled on it again and WOW!!! If I owned a time machine I would go back to this moment and travel to Stockholm. The guitar solo by Eike Steffen from 3:06 onwards accompanied by the superb drum rhythms of Andreas... just EPIC!!!
From all of us to you, thanks! :) I will be doing a studio recording of this track later this year. It sure deserves it! And you're absolutely right. Only Commodore makes it possible!
Hey man!!! Thats.... GREAT :D brings back old memories from my childhood. I was about 12 years old when I was playin this game through long weeks.... thanks from Hungary guys :D
This is absolutely bloody fantastic. I just heard it on Slay Radio and had a look on RUclips. Kickass drums and METAL combine with SID chip to insane results. And that is one hell of a tasty solo, too. If you're ever playing in the UK somewhere, let me know! I would pay to see this.
I've always thought that LN2 music was so fantastic and deserved a "live" version with real drums, keyboards, bass and guitars... You proved me I was right! Thank for all you did!
this is my 3rd day since i have found this link and just hitting replay and replay again God knows how many time , now i don't count Im44 but still feel like 16 'cause C64 times This Band is amazing, rock is in they vein! long life!!
10 years on and this is still magic. That's not to say there hasn't been any other good LN2 tunes since then - far from it - but this is something else. The drumming is beautiful, and that moment at 0:38 (when the camera pans to the bass) gets me every time (I love the LN2 bassline). Fantastic. Faintly remember being disappointed that the break wasn't done properly, but now I'm just happy that you kept the momentum going. Wish I was there.
Fantastici!!! Un meraviglioso omaggio a un meraviglioso gioco!! Grandi!! Ho sognato per anni una reinterpretazione delle musiche di Matt Gray con strumenti musicali reali... Orchestra o Rock band è sufficiente suonare ancora quelle musiche bellissime, che non sono musiche da videogioco!
This is my favorite live performance ever. It's like Motörhead song played by nerds. I'm 45 and have couple of C64's and this was always one of my favorite songs back in the 80's when I was a kid.
Really there should be an album! Think that when I'd found it piece I listened to it at least 15 times in a row! WIsh you all the luck you need for going on with your projects.
I love this song! I cannot believe this sound belongs to 90s! I am 43 by the way and played and loved Last Ninja 2 when I was a child, still remember those good old days!
Amazing stuff! This evening in 2008 was pure magic, remember your wonderful time as an adolescence when you were playing cool C64 games and digging the music!
Thanks for the kind words! Tell all your friends. ;) Yes, all hail Matt. He's still doing music and has been working with Pet Shop Boys, Cher and Sugababes, among others.
Back in the days, I'd wake up in the morning, turn on the C64, just to load and listen to the soundtrack from Last Ninja 2 - and you're doing a great job of replaying those tracks. Thank you!
What a great Performance, and it's really pleasing to hear in my Opinion one of the Best Tunes ever created for a Video Game in a live Version. Just Priceless¡¡¡¡¡
This is likely the best video game cover ever performed! The fact is that the SID and its sounds and songs were so good people still use it today, 30+ years on and this particular song was a highlight of all C64 music and always seemed like it was supposed to be performed by a live band. Good work guys! All hail Matt Grey!
Ever since i first played this game as a teen, i loved this tune and wished someone would play it "proper"! lol. But you guys did an extremely good job at this, well done.
@OtaKing77077 Thanks a lot. Remember that we only had eight hours of rehearsals together for this gig! It can and will be much better when we play in Holland in October this year and possibly England next year. Information about a possible UK gig will appear on C64.COM.
The band only rehearsed eight hours together before this gig and I had the whole event to arrange, so time was short. This was also the last track that made it to the set list. But your idea is good and something we'll have to think about until next time. Could be a good and easy way to update it.
WOOOOW!!!! I searched for that nearly 20 years!!! I remember the first steps in LN2... how to turn the ninja???? hrhr THANKS DUDES! My Fav song is the 2nd song in game. Ich will search for more songs of you guys! THANKS A LOT!
I´m 43 and listen often to those remaks.......then ...i close my eyes.......my childhood is so awesome still there
+toddybody Hi! You should check out the Last Ninja album currently on kickstarter :-D
too, its great!
I'm 43 too and my childhood is so still there! ;) Commodore 64 and old good times...
I am also 43 and i feel with you
I'm 46 and I'm still deeply in love with the sound of the Commodore 64!
I never had LN2, but I loved LN1. Decades later, I had the chance to listen to the entire trilogy's OST. What a collection of bangers. In 2024, this live show still has a ton of great fight and energy in it. Bravo!

Guys, you are the masters of the Universe!! :) RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT You ROCK, AND C64 and LN2 FOREVER!!!!!
Still here brother 🤙🤙❤️
Goosebumps december 2019
I was 17 when we cracked the game. Amazing memories!
C64 Magic Time!
C64 was the best thing to ever enter into the mainstream in a timely fashion.
In my 9 year old imagination when I was playing this, this is how I heard the music.
If this was on a modern game, it would be hailed as one of the greatest game theme tunes ever.
+StRoRo
Exactly.
+StRoRo It still is.
Think the difference is nowadays osts are more like movie sountracks the dont have the personality of theses tracks .
Back in those days, you had to come up with a strong melody as you 'only' had the three channels and sythesised sounds. We have a great legacy to enjoy!

Still here 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
That's the real spirit of C64 music! Thanks man.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the song of my life. I remember all days with Last Ninja 2!!!!
Jesus every time I hear this it sounds amazing!
Ez az egyik legállatabb c64 feldolgozás, amit valaha is hallottam!!!
Thanks so much Stefan! :)
Man oh man I come back here every couple of weeks, I just can't stop listening to this.

Im44 but still feel like 16 'cause C64 times
This Band is amazing, rock is in they vein!
long life!!
Thanks a lot Byfx Gaming!
It was the best audience! Being a metal fan, I especially dig the headbanging and the stage diving that took place later on in the show.
