I would argue that the 660 is a good step up from a beginner bike(500cc or less), where as the 800 is for more experienced riders, and after that no real need, or want for anything more.
Two very nice Sports now. Probably the 800 for me with better wind control and suspension but.... the 660 is now easily the best bang for the buck across the board!!
@@elizabethbooth-k8q It’s the only tech I believe genuinely worth having, the rest I’m not bothered about apart from maybe switchable ABS. It’s like modern cars now you can’t have one without the tech.
@@tsubadaikhan6332 You clearly don't appreciate the amount of research and testing that goes into adding CC to a bike. You don't just slap it on and hope for the best. You have to test it extensively to make sure it does not conflict with anything else on the bike. Then there is also the additional installation cost which in turn raises the price to the consumer. The Tiger 660 sport was a new entry and Pricing it competitively was more important than CC. I've own 18 bikes and never wanted CC. It takes away from the experience. Highway riding is also boring AF.
I have the 900 GT pro, used to have the 660. The green paint is stunning, and the big difference cruise control 😊 I could be tempted to go alongside my Tiger 900.
I know it'll never happen but the fact that they've included cruise control on the Sport 800, the Trident 660 and now this updated Sport 660 means they should make it available for at least a super discount for the Street Triple 765RS. While I know they won't, they should at least equip the new RS's with it. After all, it's the one thing that the MT-09 has over the Striple IMO.
Beautiful bike. I love the sweet symphony of the inline 3 of the Triumph. The touch and feel are top notch. Looking forward to this and the bigger 800 in India.
Nice vid & bike, but I wonder why they didn't put the new 94bhp engine in it? I appreciate they almost certainly wanted to clearly differentiate it from the sportier Daytona 660 & new Tiger 800 Sport, but they would have sold more Tiger 660 Sports as a result imo. The Daytona 660 has a very different style & ergonomics etc while the Tiger 800 is a clear step up in every way, including price, so I don't see a 94bhp Tiger Sport 660 as a problem whatsoever.
Good review cheers. I bought the 660 in the summer, such a good bike, almost perfect for me. I would like a more responsive throttle but that's a minor gripe. Like others have said, I appreciate that Triumph listens and constantly improves its products, offering more for pretty much the same price.
I am not a huge fan of the 660 engine (still can't understand why they don't use their fantastic 765 engine on more models than the Street Tripple!), but this Roulette Green... Oooh... it 's soooo good to have it back on the Triumph bikes!
I pre-ordered a Tiger Sport 800, but looking at this bike updates I might save me $2800 usd and go for this instead... Yes I know the upgrades on the 800 are great, more power, better suspension. But, $2800 is a good amount of money that I could use to buy some hand guard, paniers and other upgrades I want to make this bike perfect. I ride an MT09 and I know the 800 would be closer in power to my bike, but I had an MT07 before and never thought I didn't have enough power, it just felt like it was not stable at high speeds on windy days. But this bike and the tiger sport 800 are basically the same size and weight, so I am sure they will basically feel the same on the highway. What turned me off from this bike before was not having a quickshifter and cruise control standard, but they fixed that now. It is also nice to see that Triumph are giving people the option to chose to pay more just for the power and upgrades that make sense. But still including cruise control and quickshifter on the cheaper models as well. Before it was either pay more to have the cruise control on a bike that costs around $4000 more or don't have it. That just makes people look elsewhere instead of paying more.
I would have thought Triumph would have come out with an auto trans/DCT option. It’s been a popular option on Honda’s for years and other manufacturers are getting in the game.
used prices and therefore trade-in values of the 660 Tiger Sport have taken a battering recently, with some pre-reg examples well under 8k on eBay, so I doubt if anyone will trade up for the 800 or a new model 660 but lots of people will go for an ECU retune and maybe freer exhaust. Personally, I would like it to be 20mm lower (doable DIY) and under 200kg wet, and also start the moment you touch the button rather than churning away for more than a few seconds. A bigger gripe is not being able to have both the odometer and time on the same dial, possibly because the odometer is on a different section of software to stop it being messed with.
I had a 2022 model and it's nice to see the upgrades for 25. Unfortunately for me being 6'5, the seat is just not comfortable for more than 1 hour or so of riding. It needs to be flatter back to the pillion. The current seat design is way too sloped at the back, which put a lot of pressure into my lower back.
I hope they did solve lower oil chamber design from old model which tend to burst quiet often in India. It was kept unprotected from elements and even third party bash plates also did not cover it. I have seen brand new tiger 660 with burst oil chamber and also same was seen on Trident 660 by hitting on speed breaker. 😅
Had the Tridy & TS660 for work from '20 to '23. Loved them but didn't have enough oomph for legging it around the hills & mountains . Streety 765S replaced them but had to give way to the Daytona 660 in July . Power & delivery are what i was missing on the previous 660's. & now looking to smash a piggy-bank.fir the 800 TS.....😉😎
I’ve been wondering for years now why everyone in the world of motorcycling talks about “a six axis IMU” when in fact there are only 3 axes (plural of axis) of motion: the vertical, the lateral, and the longitudinal. Example: leaning right or left is on the same (longitudinal) axis.
Yamaha should go for broke with the Tracer 7....no additional tech (unless you include TC) to retain the inherent analog feel, but some premium suspension front and rear would make the Tracer 7 best in class for the actual riding experience. People rave about the 660 triple motor but the CP2 is superior in my opinion. Cruise control on a bike like the 660 Sport is a gimmick. Don't get me wrong, I think the bike's great and I very nearly bought one a couple of years ago, but adding cheap software incrementally to maintain 'category leading status' is like Honda adding another riding mode option to the Transalp, when they should be fitting tubeless rims.
Really nice where the price is concerned, and the changes on paper sound decent enough, but I don't like the look of any of these paint schemes as much as last year's red one.
Weren't there rumors that they were gonna put street 6 for this model? Why did they stick to the street 5 tyres? Did people ended up enjoying those over the 6 even just for a factory price standpoint?
Good looking bike but since i own the Tiger 900 GT Pro im not in the market for another adventure bike. More interested in an updated Daytona 660 with all theese new standard techs as fitted in this bike and the Trident. Like the looks of the new Tiger800 Sport but its to much kind of an adventure bike for my taste. Allready own an aventure bike. Please update the Daytona 660 or a Daytona 800
looking the way triumph is going for 2025 soon it may give cruise control as std for stret triple 765 r and rs too with a nominal price hike i still have time before my orange r hit the indian shores so i hope they do it soon too i was given a march 2025 estimate for my bike delivery hope triumph gives an update by december so i may loose another 1 or 2 months but get a perfect bike the street triple r only buying regret for me is not having the cruise control
Be careful what you wish for. I have the street triple rs and the dash is an absolute mess of unreadable data and graphics. Rode the tiger sport, whilst the rs was being serviced, and the dash is far clearer and easier to read.
I like this bike, but i hate all the design stickers they put on it. The lines are just crazy ugly to me. I think it came in a solid black a year or two ago and that one was sleek and solid 👍
It doesn't really appeal to me - just not what I'm doing with my motorcycle... But overall, this will fall into all the sweet used 6k USD motorcycles in th next few years.
Agree - nice bikes. Triumph unlike some other manu-fuckturers, do try to stay i business. I'd go for the 800. Only - the rack for rear box, should have been included. Even if they, also, included a center stand wouldn't bankrupt them. And it's not just the extra cost ( obviously it is always, cheaper for the company to pre mount things ) - it is the ordering time, and and all the hassle around it. Some countries have limited seasons, limited dealer abilities.... These extra bothering with waiting....mounting.... = a very annnoooying pain in the ass ! So Triumph - DON'T be Honda - these bikes are COMMUTERS. They NEED to be equipped with mentioned over things, without any further input from the customers, after paying for these bikes !!!! ☝☝🤨
I wouldn't compare the Himalayan to the 850 Sport. Both bikes have plenty of character, but will be used for different duties. If I planned on doing more gravel roads and green lanes I'd definitely consider the Himalayan, or similar, but the 850 Sport is great for its intended purpose, which is a really comfy, really planted all round road bike, great for commuting, good for distance, good for spirited sunday blasts, easily manages a pillion plus luggage, and can also bimble off road...ideally, we'd have a different bike for every type of riding we do, but funding it is another story....
Real person here & not a bloody bot…. I’ve always liked the 660, but got to say now, personally I’d go for the 800. £2kish more, but worth it i.m.o.
In the US, with taxes and dealer fees, it's probably less than a $2k difference
@@logangodofcandy The Tiger sport 800 is 12.5k in US, Tiger sport 660 is 9.7k. I'd probably just buy a Tracer 9 at 12.6k.

Love it - they’ve listened well done Triumph. Every bike that can happily sit at 70mph should have CC.
And if it's already throttle by wire....... It's just a button, and a chip that was probably already there.
Disagree....but that seems to be the way the industry's going.
