    Air Supply was one of those musical groups (duo) that the so-called "cool" guys would not admit to liking, but you'd see them singing it in the car when they didn't think anyone was looking.

    As a teenager throughout the 70's, men were clearly more romantic. Expressing feelings came easy. We spent time talking, having adventures, experiencing life - no phones, no internet. It made a difference. All communications in relationships were
    Face to face - no texting.
    I think that's why 70's balads are just a step above the rest.

    Air Supply lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock holding the final note for "16.2 seconds". This was the longest-held note for a male pop singer until 1983, when Sheriff lead vocalist Freddy Curci held the final note of "When I'm with You" for 19.4 seconds.

    Air Supply's music is the sound tract for me dating my wife. We actually met Graham Russell (the tall one) when they were in Phoenix in the early 2020s. It was 40 years after we dated. Graham was a real down to earth bloke (guy). When we met, he offer to buy me a drink. Couldn't have that so I bought him one. We spoke for quite a while. Told him their music was the sound tract of our dating and he laughed. I knew why he laughed, but he didn't have to. He said that he'd heard that alot. In the words of my father, "Graham was good people. I am biased, but I love Air Supply.

      @Spo-Dee-O-Dee 3 месяца назад

      @@ruthlafler5622 It was done quite often, and was one reason why records could be expensive to produce. Hearthrobs like Frankie Avalon owe their careers to it. AutoTune has reduced the number of takes needed, and has simply become standard practice. I have a friend with a daughter majoring in voice performance at Berklee. I've worked with her; she has no issues with pitch, yet she still has to practice recording with AutoTune in production lab, because if she wants professional work, she will have to expect it as part of the process. She won't need it, but it will be there anyway.

    I'd never noticed that before. . . he really does look real similar to Conway. No effects on his voice, that's all him. I'm 2 years older than BP. I've known my husband 25 years (married 25 in October) we would send, no jokes, mix tapes to each other. We each had a couple Air Supply songs on them...totally unplanned.
    *Dream weaver by Gary Wright* was one of our songs, another that he'd never heard was *Alison Krauss and Union Station's version of When You Say Nothing At All* .

    I seen Air Supply in concert.had a blast. " Making love out of nothing at all"is another Beautiful song. I have to say you are one of few people doing reactions that is completely real. I love your facial expressions or when you're surprised. I've watched many reactions.there are fakes out there. So thank you for keeping it true & real. ❤

    Nope, that’s his voice!
    This band. Especially this song. For those of us who were preteen/young teens, these love songs were everything! Get that cassette tape ready to go lol.
    I think I saw them in concert with the outfield in Providence once. Lighters were definitely out, you could still smoke in everywhere back then.
    Remember I love you from the climax blues band?
    Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty!
