Nurture came at a time when I needed it the most. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I feel hearing Nurture and the messages it shares has really improved my mindset for a bit and is telling me to keep looking for happiness.
@@potatoboidvidi Thanks you!! Things have been decent and I've been working on my degree; hopefully SRA will be more my passion. I hope you're doing well too 🤞
I'm with you bud, the valleys in the depths of our minds can be hard to climb out of but there are life lines to help. You just gotta find the one that's strong enough to support your mind's weight and all the bullshit that wants to drag you back down to the bottom. Its just tough to see those lines around you when everything is dark. I believe in you.
Shout out to Spotify for doing this format and really helping porter feel comfortable and be reflective. He sometimes gets awkward with the office chair zoom interviews and this fit him perfectly
Everything he's saying should be obvious, but it seems that so much of the content we consume nowadays is driven by despair and negativity. It makes us forget how beautiful and good life is from its vast awesomeness to its tiny intricacies. Nurture is a refreshing and much needed reminder of the fact that we can always find a reason for hope if we look for it.
Porter is the main inspiration for my songs but lately I feel that what he wants other artists to do, something that one wants to create, and make those feelings known. Thank you porter.
I know this is a random question, but what software do you use to make your music (if any?) I really want to try to g get into it and learn but I’m just not quite sure where to start off
@@toastytoast1890 first step is google bro :) but to get yourself on the right foot, what you're looking for is called a "DAW". some of the most popular are FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, and more. all of those are paid, so if you don't have a ton laying around right now, you can go with a free DAW for right now, like Ableton Live LITE, Garageband, or Bitwig

Honestly hyped for the recently announced new album, ngl it's gonna be difficult to top the stuff he did in Nurture. I enjoyed his Worlds/Shelter era but Nurture hit emotionally harder, especially for how unique, beautiful and awe-inspiring it was for a lot of fans, it even helped me through a couple of the most heart-wrenching years of my life....music truly is a blessing for the soul. Legit always find myself feeling refreshed and gaining inspiration whenever I come back to this motivational speech of his, so honoured to have experienced the Nurture set live twice here in London back in 2022 and I'm excited for what new era of Porter comes next!😁...hopefully new Virtual Self too lol 😅 Nurture Forever 🙏💚
If you only knew how much your music has changed my life. I lost my best friend recently and I can’t even describe how much Nurture has helped me through it. You are wonderful and a huge inspiration and I can’t wait to see you this October! 🥰🌸
I appreciate how he just makes what he likes. I feel like so many people care too much about what’s trending, or what other people think. One thing I have always lived by in my production is that I am my main audience. I want to make my favorite songs! Also I have been realizing how just being yourself and swallowing your pride is so much better than trying to prove yourself to people.
What he said at the end about enjoying life and reality touches me every time Unfold climaxes as I'm running outdoors. The whole album has reached me for sure. ❤️
Porter really has always been such an inspiration in terms of creativity and trying to make your own creative space. I could just listen to him all day talk about how to make your own favorite thing; he’s pulled it off so well with Nurture :)
Yeah, they reach me, you reach me. I'm crying watching this video, let alone listening to the album. I can feel everything you put into Nurture. Well done, Porter!
Nurture holds a special place in my heart, Look at the Sky especially helped me get through really dark times when I was genuinely so ready to just give up everything. The line: "I'll be alive next year", kept me going. I'd loop it through each day along other nurture songs and now I'm still here 2 years after I thought I'd end it. Even now when I know he won't hold any more Nurture shows which I really wish I could have attended, I'm still happy for everything and so grateful for Porter and his work. It's one of the big reasons why I managed to pull through and I'm actually doing way better now, got some help for myself and I'm genuinely enjoying like again after around 6 years of struggling. Thank you, your music did in fact save lives 💜
I'm currently in therapy and taking antidepressants. This album was a really special experience, and it's now my all time favorite album. Thanks Porter - your message definitely reached me (:
Thank you for always creating music Porter, from Worlds to Nurture. You inspire many including myself. So much gratitude I have for your works of art leading me to a world. Thank you 💕
After man years of being in such a dark place through abuse, depression, eating disorders, and horrible paralyzing anxiety, all I want is that hope I once had before everything turned dark for me. In the past 2 years I've been on a journey to recover from those deep scars I harbored for so long, and now I finally feel that genuine pure hope that life does get better, that my life will get better. I was loosing hope recently and that when I came across your Nurture album and was reassured that I was going on the right path. That I was doing fine, that there was no need to worry any more. Thank you for restoring that light in me and for inspiring me with your music after you had gone through such a troubling time in your own mental health. Thank you for being here and creating a world that reminds everyone that reality isn't all that bad
I hope over these 10 months you managed to feel better. Sadly I don't think the scars on our bodies or minds ever heal, but we can learn to accept and live with them, to work our lives with and/or despite them. And with the way life is, you can never truly say if things will get better. But they might. And I think that itself is worth living through life to see. Because it might be very worth it.
Porter is incredible ❤🙏 I'm very grateful for his work and the heart and soul he puts into his songs and album, especially Nurture, I don't know where I would be musically in my journey if it wasn't for Nurture ❤ this video is awesome!
Tbh, all the songs in the album not just reached me, they reached my inner soul, the motivations, the inspiration, the feelings are pushing me to step forward, strengthen my hope and be my better self. I love it ❤️
Todays been tough, this made it better. Porter made it better, hope makes it better. I remember seeing a video of him from the Worlds era which a t shirt on that said "fuck real life", which was fitting for an album about escapism. To see him now though, on the other side of his painful days, at peace with himself and his own hope and optimism, is so touching to me. When he talked about real life being beautiful and worthwhile here, I got goosebumps. He's the same kid but he's grown; were all the same kids looking to escape only to realize that there's a better way than escaping real life: learning to embrace it. Thank you Porter.
yeah nurture is different. I feels so many emotions listening to it.. from grief/sadness to loving/accepting everything that is life.. Being alive right now, today and every other day is THE GREATEST PRIVALEGE. repeat to yourself.
Porter, thank you for your nurturing music. It helped me a lot, and it reached a lot of people. I saw glimpse of hope with your music, and now I'm chasing after it.
Mr. Masakatsu Takagi's music has been used in Japanese TV commercials, and Japanese people often listen to his music without being aware of it. I am sure that Mr. Masakatsu Takagi would be pleased with his music.
Takagi masakatsu's music really ties into porter's new album and it makes my heart move!! I can really feel the growth and just natural feel of each song from both of their work.
I personally thinks there's something more than hope: finding the will to keep living. It's easier to find hope when you're sorrounded by a supporting family or social and economic privileges. What if there's none? I feel we must try, as artists, to share that humble joy. It's just as important as fighting for a more equal and ecologic world.
