I love SSP as well, it's my favorite game of 2022 so far, even better than Carnegie which seems to be the hotness for heavy game players atm.

Only discovered this game recently, OMG, I can't stop playing it - as you said, the variety is amazing. Then you think you have done something in one game only to learn another better strategy for the next and so on. Can't get to it enough. I love the diplomacy component too, restricts what you can use (ie: higher level modules) but the rewards with working with others is great and the different ways you can engine build and change from game to game. BUT.... The biggest plus to the game it is actually really easy to learn - two actions - pay gems to use a ship/action or take an income action to get more gems - how more simple can a mid-weight plus game get?? And what this does allows you to more or less learn as it you go, you really just need to know the basics of what the ships do and a couple of essential actions and off you go. I have still not read the rules (just referred to them). My only complaint is the standee. A simple globe like meeple would have worked for me.
Carnegie is my must 2022 game to get (I didn't KS it due to financing) - seen enough play of that game to think it would easily be my number 1 game this year, but having bought and played SSP, I can't see it doing that now, I love this game.

Literally my only complaint about the game is the awful player pawns. I don't understand how it shipped with them. I've been using Loony pyramids as a temporary replacement until someone makes a good thing to 3D print.
