9/10. An absolute gem, that keeps getting better. It most certainly does not outstay it's welcome, at least not in our table. Hope you realised the rule that when you catch a Boss (from a round space), you get a Djinn with him for free (from that same round space).
seems to me the gameplay is same from game to game? The way Camilla described it: get a bottle, get a djinn, get a cork, bottle it. any order. so basically the only way to make points is capturing djinns?
Yep, Milla nails it. Fun game, great planning puzzle, but too same-y. It's a fun game to play a couple of times, but then you move on from it. I sold mine after 3-4 plays. I do recommend to try it though, just not enough replayability for me.
Was it obvious that you just put out your extra actions first - if the other player doesn't , they get wrecked ... so maybe should have been an automatic thing for both players to do?
This isn't a point salad with lots of ways to get points it's a race to get Djinn as quick as you can. We like it as something a little different from many modern designs. The trick is not to do things one at a time but set yourself up to do several captures or bottlings at once. I actually prefer Crown of Emara which is also a quicker game.
Found this game to be way too samey. The set up is not varied enough to offer much replayability. Also the game lacks production quality for the modern standards. It's not bad, but it doesn't stand out in any meaningful way.
Glad to see this game finally getting reviewed here at DT. I've definitely enjoyed my plays of it.

Should have been called "Djinnbusters." I used to have a completely different game called "Djinn" (which Zee reviewed 6 years ago).

Is that a Metroplex behind Zee? 😊
Yes. They used to have Optimus Prime in the bottom left cube, but he was swapped out a few weeks ago.
Djinn on cover looks like Pennywise
Ah yes. The horses of Agricola. :P

Pennywise is a genie now?

Interesting, the scores are a little bit higher than what I would expect if i just listen to what is said, but the game looks cool
Definitely want to add this to my collection of euros I hope to play one day.

Once again, this excellent designer went for a completely uninspired theme. Very unfortunate.
