The lights work like a -- VU meter -- is the word you're looking for I think 😉 The one with the LED VU meter is amazing for the price ($20 where I am)! I mean just how far the tech has advanced. I remember buying little plug in speakers for my Discman in the 90s & they sounded barely listenable. Horribly tinny & plastic, absolutely no bass and they'd clip as soon as you turned them up beyond 4. This actually sounds ok in comparison. There's some bass, the sound is super-crisp & you can actually turn it up. I measured bass down to 65Hz and volume up to 60-65dB at max (1m). Not bad at all.

For the speaker with the better bass and better quality sound how long does it take to charge it? And how long does the charge last? I ran into a few reviews and some people said the charge only last for about an hour 🙄 is that true?

At full volume it will last up to an hour it's a novelty at 70% volume you can get up to 3 to 5 hours if lucky I will be returning mines to Amazon
