100% this was an amazing video. Wow!
The naturally aspirated engine coupled with a manual gear box is the driving purity with a far superior setup when compared to the computer aided cars with turbo, computerised flappy paddle gear box and a mapped in synthetic sound. Now Porsche put in the craftsmanship in this engine to bring it alive.
Some of those drone shots were absolute class….fantastic job lads!

The one I want is the last Touring in a nice subtle dark colour so that most people won't notice it's a special one.
I would go straight black with silver whees and black brakes with the silver window trim. Very low key and elegant.
My dad has a BRG 991 touring with subtle silver wheels. He’s also an incredibly good driver (not just boy racer). Being a passenger is more than visceral
Having experienced one of these on the Nordschleife, I can confirm it really doesn’t need more power. It just needs you to be a better driver... The most desirable car on the planet
top of my list over any other car.

Never did I think I would cry watching a car review, but this 992 GT3 is something else! The sound of the flat-6 hurling the car forward as the 9000 rpm mark approaches, the brief pause as the clutch is engaged to change gears is unsatisfiable to my ears. Hands-down the best manual north of 500 bhp car in my opinion.
If this video doesn't get your juices flowing... You simply don't have the right to call yourself a car guy or gal. Simply amazing. Cheers to the crew!

I have one of these (Touring) on order - awaiting delivery in the next couple of months. The expense is large but whenever I find my self questioning the purchase, I come back and watch this video and it makes it worth it. A wonderful video - the joy is palpable and I can't wait to experience it.

This will go down in history as the little green men video, loved it, such an emotive video, best GT3 vid to date..and there are lots out there.. you didn’t give us all the stats stuff, because it’s already been done.
Chris Harris already made the little green men comment in his Ferrari FXXK video. That would be the peak of where cars had got to.

you can flat-shift it, most people dont' know that. keep your foot on the accelerator when you upshift.

1) The GPF screws up the best part of the sound, which is between 8000-9000 rpm. The 991.2 sounds much better.
2) Brakes in certain markets use a worse pad compound for environmental reasons only.
3) Some reports of the thinner glass cracking is unnecessary weight removal resulting in major problems.
4) The front still looks ungainly compared with the 991.2.

At about 2:00 I thought you were going to say you had half a pack of cigarettes.
PDK vs manual reminds be of a friend who is a civil engineer. When he tells people that he is a civil engineer, people say “That’s nice “ but when they ask what kind of engineer he is and he replies “locomotive engineer” people get really excited.
I want Porsche to develop every model from the 4.0L flat 6. Base 911 should use the 718 GTS 4.0, and then the Turbo should use a twin turbo version of that 4.0. I would never complain if Porsche decided to move the engine to the middle like the 718. They should probably just drop the 718 and make the 911 Mid engined with the double wishbones and 4.0 with a big hatchback and frunk. Literally the best GT car at that point.

Great review! Having driven both pdk and manual, which one is better in your opinion James. I know the automatic choice is the manual but does its long gearing bother you a tad bit? Thank you and hope to get your feedback soon.
‘Tough one. Usually it would be manual without thinking, but the PDK is so good it’s hard to look passed it as the better option. That said, it’s hard to say no to a six-speed manual with 500bhp 😏’

You already did a GT3 video. Not sure why you didn’t talk about pdk vs manual at all. That’s what I was hoping you would have discussed.
This is type of car you buy for sunset cruise.
Kudos to Porsche for sticking with an epic sounding normally aspirated high revving engine and giving the opinion of a manual box. More desirable than anything from Ferrari or McLaren which just don't sound as good even though they have way more power.
Well, you can have "this car" with way more power... It's called GT2 RS.
The forthcoming 992.2 911 GT2 RS will have more power than comparable McLaren or Ferrari competitors and it will blow everything out of the water... Once again.

Question:
Would a comatose sloth shift any slower than a comatose Checo Perez and if so how could his tardiness not be attributed to his handicap of possessing massive claws rather than Checos advantageous opposable thumbs? Also would a comatose state not hinder the sloths hand eye coordination somewhat?

Pull the amplifier fuse and I bet you it sounds different. They still play through the audio, just do it a lot better than Audi and BMW (both of which do a terrible job). Have driven three 992's of differnent levels now and they all have had sound addition, but to give them their due they were all well judged and you didn't really know it was there until you pulled the plug on the amp.

How did you do the drone camera work? It's very impressive!
FPV! Camera operator is flying the drone using a virtual reality headset. Not easy to do but the effect is great!
