I love this guy. Great writer : sophisticated but intelligible, funny and eloquent
Eagleton is simply one of the best critics of the New Atheism.
Culture is a resource. Many cultures, many resources, so we would be able to choose and use from any culture, whatever works best for most, specially for surviving and dealing with daily struggles of life.
I reached the same conclusion about young people's use of the word "like" independently of Eagleton.

@@nightoftheworld Yes indeed . but i thought about some of these MEDICATIONS They give out for inflammatory issues can cause a mind storm. Meds that cause this are 1 Popular one PREDNISONE Steroid . Millions who take it can and do go through ROID RAGE. Also Steroid Psychoses the agony suffering.these moods caused by the steroid can last for years and the person suffering from a mind torture chamber affecting family including others. thought i would put that in.
@@trafficjon400 yeah we can be imbalanced, either genetically or pharmaceutically but there are billions who aren’t, which is why life, learning and industry go on, that’s how our human world turns.
@@nightoftheworld Nature is off ballance and the ones who take Responsibilities need a reality check. for it makes things difficult for the average person to keep track with Science and of course all walks of life. if we trust we experience it first.
Not true about religious texts not being on cultural studies courses, lots of courses on history of ideas etc. have the Book of Job or Gnostic texts on their syllabus.
