I just ordered my plates thanks to watching your videos. I have 4 presses and a smaller bench. This system will help me a lot. Thanks for the great recommendation
Best fraggin video I've seen on this, a guy with passion for the craft. I've been dealing with a poor mounting of my press and looking forward to getting this system up and running.
You the man! Building a workbench and was trying to figure out if I need an overhang for the front edge of the bench. After seeing this it's clear I don't need to. Thank you!
Kimberly Swanson All I can say is I am very humbled. Welcome to my channel and BTW, if you can send me pics of your reloading setup to groundzeroreloading@gmail.com I will get you in on a subscriber picture video. Welcome to my channel. Highboy
Really appreciate this video. I have limited space, and will be building my bench inside of a bedroom closet. This will really help with the space issue i was trying to figure out
Couple things. You should look into a hinge drill guide set. You'll know as soon as you see one, what I mean. It's ten times better than using a punch or trying to use your drill to do your pilot holes. The hinge drill set will center your pilot holes perfectly every time. Second.. Why didn't you route your bench? Routing your bench will allow you to keep everything flush when you're not using a press. Keeps you from having to remove the plate when you perform other tasks that require your bench to be flush on top. I guess if you're only using it for reloading it's okay. Just seems that a flush plate is the way to go. I totally agree with getting good hardware. I'm so anal about it and my bench is 4 inches thick on the edges so I have to get long bolts. Anyway, good job..
Thanks Pete. There are a few reasons I did not route the bench. First... I have about 100,000 bullets and so much equipment. I did not want the saw dust in everything and moving everything is too much work. 2nd, I only use the real estate for reloading... nothing more. I have my dedicated bench for gun maintenance. 3rd, I have 14 plates and I have minimal patience for messing with a router. So, I opted out. It does not matter how you mount them, just so you mount them. Welcome to my channel Pete. Highboy
Also, I would like to mention, if your bench has a 2x6 or 2x4 on that leading edge, a 2" long 1\4" lag screw has a ton of holding power and will work nicely as well.
My Hornady Classic press is currently held down with just two lag screws in the back that only go about 1.25" into some plywood and it is plenty strong like you say. Go Beavs!
I just got a chance to resize some brass using my new flush mount. It seems to be defective, it just sits there instead of allowing the press to twist and flex like it used to.
another great video! it that coffee mug a 0311 Marine Corps infantry coffee mug?? we're did you get it from? I see it's made by 7.62 design but they don't have any on there website only t-shirt (which I own alot of) With me being a Marine Infantry mani would like to get one. please let me know we're you got it from.
+Razor's Armory (Razor's Armory) A marine subscriber sent it to me. The handle was broke due to being shipped but I still drink out of it regardless. I honor our Military men and women and my Marine cup means quite a bit to me. BTW,,, thank you for your dedication to our county. I always enjoy hearing from you. Highboy
+76Highboy Reloading (Highboy Reloading) it was my honor for 13 years to be able to put that Marine Corps uniform on every day. I miss it some days but on some days it remains me of why I am not still in the years of 80 lbs packs took there total. I enjoy watching your videos. I hope you make some more on the Hornady AP Press soon. I did try to call you a month or so ago no answer so I left a voice mail. keep up the great videos.
6" screws is what I use on the front edge of the plate on all my quick change bottom plates. That is more than enough to clear the front 2X4. Hope that helps. Highboy
I used 2x6 for the frame of my bench. With that and having two layers of 3/4 plywood for the deck made the screws a wee bit short. I made it work by boring into the 2x6 to be able to get the washers and nuts on.
That plate is only required for the thicker top plates. Inline Fabrication can let you know if you need it. However, I ended up purchasing them and installing them under all my base plates so I can move my equipment down as I need. Highboy

Oh, I am so sorry about that.note just another boring reload session. :>)
You know what size drill bit this kit calls for?
Questions can be asked at 76highboy.com
Gah! You scratched my plate! :o)
I thought that might get your attention. I must say you need someone to put them through the torture test and,,, they are tough!!! Highboy
Unless you have a 2” thick top…then the 2x4 is irrelevant.

I take it that those were 1/4" machine screws?
Yes. Thanks for asking. Highboy
Where did you find those long screws?
+Jesse Johnson A good hardware store should carry them. Lowe's, Ac,e etc... Thanks Jesse and welcome to my channel. Highboy
I searched every hardware store within 30 miles and no one has 8" screws. I did find some 6" on amazon.

Where is the required flush mount shim plate for that?

OK THANKS I WILL CALL THEM
Did you have to buy the riser plate? I do not want to route into my bench.
Leather Cheeryo I do not understand your question. You will need to call Inline Fabrication. Welcome to the channel. Highboy
I will do that. Thanks
@@jmarmstrong23 yes you have to buy the plate if you do not route them in to your bench
