Montreal's CARGO AIRPORT! Montreal Mirabel Airport (YMX / CYMX)

Welcome to Montreal's secondary (or third) airport! Mirabel airport was built to replace Dorval (now called Trudeau airport) however it failed to attract passengers so it was converted to a Cargo, manufacturing and test airport. I always enjoy visiting Mirabel airport because they get so many classic jets! Mirabel is one of the only airports left in Canada to still receive regular DC10/ MD11 action (the other being Toronto). A crying shame .. Mirabel was a beautiful, well thought out airport. It was the gov't that failed to deliver on the promises of access. Failed to complete the promised highways and rail access. The train station build right into the terminal ended up being used to the hotel's laundry. And that hotel ... fantastic.
