OMG, I DIDN'T think it possible, but you ACTUALLY made her tolerable lol.
Its just a shame you can't cut her completely or replace her with a better actor using a green screen.
But considering what you had to work with, this'll do.
Good job on cutting all that needless dialogue.
The less we see of Nepo Wifey the BETTER!

If SW and the Jedi in particular are heavily based on Japanese culture, Venestra not returning Sol's bow is a huge slight on her part.

I think the reason she treats everyone so bad is because later we find out she is the who caused Qimir to the dark side, but it's like some much in this show, reveal it too early and the audience doesn't care any more

Hi Ivan I love your passion, but I don't understand why you try to edit a show that no one want to watch again and try to forget instead of delivering the light Saber fight that everybody was eager to see ?
I mean it was really this light Saber fight that you intended to do to fix the Last Jedi that get me excited about your work.
My final question would be why you never finished it ? Why did you gave up to deliver this fight after all that sweat and tears ?

    • @ivanortegareal
      @ivanortegareal  Месяц назад +3

To your question why edit this show: cuz I feel like it.
To your question about the fight: because of the Fandom being so toxic and insufferable that couldn't wait for me to get it done so I released the cut without it.

    • @BIGDaddioJohnB

My understanding that the reason he stopped was because he ran into problems with his friend/coworker who was at the time helping him do the choreography for Luke. I know they had a fall out over something and the guy walked away....that was the last any of us heard about it. Im guessing him and his friend never made up or he couldn't find a replacement that was good enough? or maybe he realised that the project would be more work that he thought, or that he was struggling to make it fit into his story without having to make even more edits to the film which am sure he'd want to avoid? At this point do people really care? Other than yourself do people STILL want it?
I mean dont get me wrong the lightsaber fight WOULDVE been cool n added more to his TLJ edit to make it EVEN better but was it really essential? I mean his cut was already really good and as near as perfect as possible. Adding more would mean having to reedit the film AGAIN, and I dunno if he wants to go through that again. Just seems like a lot of hassle just for ONE scene that doesnt really change or add much to the final product.
Besides its been so long now, TLJ is old news, The Acolite is new. He NEEDS to strike while people are still talking about the show, otherwise if he waits to long, the interest will have died down making his edit pointless.
As for why he'd want to do it...the SAME reason he did TLJ, to preserve the Star Wars history n timeline. I mean he fixed the future of the franchise, makes sense that he'd also want to fix the past. Afterall fans have been wanting an old republic show/movie ever since the games came out, SO this is his way of giving the fans what they want. I mean just because Disney failed at doing it DOESNT mean he will too. If ANYONE can fix this mess....IVAN CAN!

Your edit are smart even thought I don't agree with everything my experience tells me that trying to fix crap will always lead you to end up with a less smelly crap with lipstick. You can turn it how you want to, a crap with lipstick is still a crap.
The way to go for your sake is to fix a decent show and make it better. Why not the Mandalorian or Andor who are full of imperfections?
I wish you the best Ivan.

Well Sir, you just did a great job (again) fixing the pacing. But again i've got a feeling that you are a little bit to radical editing it.
First i guess, that the scene with the students lesson doesn't have to be cut short. It's what i want to see of a Jedi, giving Jedi lessons. Also i liked the way how he turned something supposedly negative - "fire" - into something positive for his students. Even though it still does something to him.
Second, the green lady. "Nepo Wife" was new to me, others referred to her as "Shrek". To me she's an "Orion Woman"🖖. Her acting and dialogue tells me, that she is not only powerful, the leader of a department maybe, but also that she is bad. Could be important for a second season then. Also the politics are a thing, so that they have to cover this whole thing up an cannot speak freely about it. And as we learn in the series, it's actualy a former padawan of her who is to blame. So we will have a strong contrast between her beaviour and her responsibility.
I'm still looking forward to your attempts.

Jedi Master Nepotism is simply corrupt. There’s not logical reason for any single one of her actions except to serve the interests of the sith. She likely isn’t working for the sith, and she likely isn’t evil, so all that leaves is extreme stupidity. We do not need a season 2.

Smooth. The 2 main characters and tragedy introduction are the point, and 3rd char is the object: no distractions. Good edit dude!
The orig subtext looks like rudeness, condescension. If you're going to show douchebag jedis, better to bring it on slow, I think.

Venestra arcs is that she is corrupt, that's literally the ending of the show. This intro is a forewarning. They set uo the end of the high republic in which she doesn't seem to survive and be replaced by yoda.

@@boatymcboatface666 I'm not saying Yoda takes her place, but replace her by someone else. The hypothesis in another post on another video, is that this is why they changed the richly made costume by more austere monk looking, to recenter on what's important, but the show is two face about it as it seems the original intent was to show Jedi in need of reform, but rewriting mandate soften the story for brand purpose by manager, as there is weird seam in which scenes contradict themselves.

Hi Ivan, I get where you comming from with your critics about the dialog, but we need to remember that part of the big picture regarding the republic era, is precisely the arrogance, condesendence, and political overeach that the jedi falled into during this period (with Annakin actually bringing balance just not in the way every one expected).
Also you critizise a lot this "information dump" but you are doing just the same my man, you can explain what you did and then let us see the scene fix flowing.

    • @BIGDaddioJohnB
      @BIGDaddioJohnB Месяц назад +3

Like I understand where you're coming from, and if the actor was decent then maybe, BUT shes NOT, her acting is GOD AWFUL! The less we hear from Nepo Wifey n DEI Jedi, the better!
If cutting out the boring dialogue means less screen time with these people then Im all for it.
These "actors" are AWFUL The ONLY way to fix it is to cut them out as much as possible.
Besides, as arrogant the Jedi were in the PT, they were nowehre near as bad as they are shown to be in the Acoshyte. Sure the Jedi were far from perfect, but we still always seen them as the good guys. but here though, they are not. Desoite all their flwas, you could still see where the council was coming from in the PT, and despite they're arrogance, the Jedi were STILL likable, but here, theres just NOTHING to like, which means that noone will care when they get killed later on, or worse they will cheer and say they deserved it.
Like its clear that Disney are trying to tarniush the leagcy of GL, n ruin the image/reputation of the Jedi, like they tried to do with the rebels and the resistance. All Ivan is trying to do is protect that legacy, and make the Jedi feel more like how the Jedi are SUPPOSED to be.
End of the day, Ivan's all about SHOW DONT TELL! I mean why talk about it when you can show it, eh?
Besides who says he'll cut it all? Keep in mind this is only a clip, theres a LOT he doesnt show that can only be seen in the full stream. Am sure he'll probably keep some exposition, afterall, he knows as well as we do that a lil exposition is fine, and can sometimes be necessary for explaining things.
Trust in his process. If the final result is anything like TLJ, then it'll be great.

I think it's funny, that in this scene Sol was portraied as one of the best teachers, caring for his students, and Green Lady was depicted as bad and arrogant. Didn't the producers wanted to show us the opposite?
