As far as I know, Logic Pro hasn’t killed GarageBand on desktop, so why would GB be killed on iPad? I think the main reason is that GB is free, and also quite powerful considering. Many people are already crying about paying a subscription for LP on iPad, so it’s not like everyone will be going that way even if they would prefer to use Logic. And because they are different apps, as this video says, many music makers will use both.

So far I am recording my new album on Garageband using Evo4, recording electric and acoustic guitars, using analogic distortion and effects. I think I will soon put also voices on GarageBand projects... And let other decide what the result will be. But I don't think I will master my album via GarageBand. I will leave that phase to Professionals... Let's see what happens... Thanks Always a Lot. BTW...

I have mix feelings. Yes I’ve been waiting for Logic for iPad just not as a subscription. I rather purchase it just like I did with GarageBand when it was released. I’m old school and still prefer analog over digital anytime. Yet it’s a digital world. Files/projects will end up being garbage if I cancel the subscription and don’t own Logic for Mac. I’d be more satisfied if it had a price tag than a subscription fee. I can keep going on about digital recording vs analog with my conspiracies, but that’s another topic. Again I rather purchase a DAW app rather than pay for a subscription in order to keep a file alive. Thanks for what you do 👍🤘

I would hope not. GarageBand has limitations, but that's not always a bad thing. I'm happy for the folks who are excited about Logic for iPad, but a fair few of them also preach 'you don't need all the gear' and 'use what you have'. I'll continue to do that. Maybe that puts me in the hobbyist camp, but that's OK too.

Everything is easy to use once you know it...
    After Effect, Protools...
And once you know really an App or a Software the workflow becomes clear...
Drambo has a best workflow on iOS as you can open a subgroup of 12 drum tracks with your default plug-ins for each instruments with one click.
It seems that Logic is not so great as people guess..
The new sampler looks great. But 2 AUX ONLY...
    AND NO Matrix...

For the Aux you have screenshots..
For the Matrix which is the only think I like in Logic, can you imagine IOS musicians (mostly hobbyists) program an automation for an Allen & Health or an Amek or any vintage hardware,,,
The Apple politic is to force people to have the 2 platforms. So it is 100% sure that it will be a lire version of Logic.
Da Vinci is a reference for movie editing (colorometry) , they release the same version of their soft on iOS.
      OK, you are GarageBand lover.
I worthing with a Mac since the Apple 2. And the first audio interface (Sound Désigner- Avid)
I have been an Apple fan for a long time but it is also ended since a long time...
So, if I decided to switch to IOS it is do the independent dev.
And lot of Apps I have were customers for me...
So knowing Apple I guess that Logic and Final Cut announced the return of the big screen iPad with a price more 3xpensive than ever...
I hope that this time bloggers will be honest not like they did with Cubasis that is the worst and non professional thing on iOS.
Logic was great before that Apple buy it...

What I don’t understand is why they keep focusing on professional level software, and amateur software when I believe the majority of us are musicians first and would greatly benefit from something in between. More than GarageBand, with the ease of use and less complicated than logic. It takes quite some time to learn how to appropriately utilize the features and logic and I have been using it for over five years. I’m a musician, not an audio engineer. That is the appeal of GarageBand to begin with but as you learn more and more you wish for more features then garage band has to offer.

If you can run iOS LP in "GB" mode (aka lunchbox mode) then why do you need GB? Well, this is where a comprehensive resource allocation/CPU drain v. # of tracks and active/open pi's testing both to the max until latency or crash is in order. GB may be the cleaner quicker code. Dump that into iOS LP if need be. (( Or - ahem, grow a pair and use Logic Pro on a big boy Mac with twin monitors and real surround, and steal an old non monthly rip version of P tools, that way you can apply for a real studio job in the future when your cut n paste beat thing doesn't work out. )) I know, I know...be nice.
