So let me clear something up for everyone in the comments yes you can use this in any of you're vehicles theres nothing on the bsck or the bottle thst says excludes 2018 impala or will not worl with audi.. if you hsve a GASOLINE engine it will run but what you also don't realize is to get any actual benifit you need a custome tune.... ya see the rigged up this gr with a tune commanding more timing then what is usually ran on 93 then acted like the bottle magically adds power when in reality they found max timing for the boostane mix and put lower octane 93 in it and made the first initial pull

This is wrong… the mustangs have variable timing. So like he says in the video.. the car realized it can keep adding timing to its max (26) and as long as it doesn’t see knock then it will do that and keep it there. The original pull the car wants to go to 26 timing but it can’t cause it is detecting knock so it went to 24 then to 22 degrees of timing. That is a huge loss of power. That’s why cars with variable timing see 20-50hp with this stuff when you are on 91/93 crap fuel. This is like doing e85 except it is more reliable because it is consistent

I believe running race gas or an octane boost may shorten the spark plug life, but even it shortens the life 50%... spark plugs can last 100k miles... if you’re racing you probably don’t wait 50k to change plugs..🤷‍♂️

Not only that but for those that like e85, boostane is just a gas additive meaning no need for crazy fuel lines since you're not hammering the injectors and going high on the duty cycle

    Skeptically used it on a N.A 3.6L V6. USA 93Octance gas with 4oz. Boostane per 15 Gallons.
Acceleration is better and response in Gears 3-4 is better when you press on the gas pedal. Overall, pleasantly surprised with the product.
Will wait to see how much Orange, the spark-plugs and the exhaust get :). Perhaps, I should use it on every third Gas Fill, to avoid any long term damage

I've also personally seen amazing results with it. On a ZL1 Camaro I recently tuned, with a 101 octane blend, I was able to run over 10 degrees more timing without knock over 91 octane fuel.
It gave my wideband an orange color but the wideband still functions properly. It passes the sensor calibration test on my Afr500v2 without even moving the adjustment knob from the last calibration pre-boostane.

Hoping you can answer a question. I have a C7 z06. Stuck with 91 in CA, did an intake, Corsa exhaust and tuned for 91. Shop called said the car is struggling with 91, I thought that's the purpose of the tune. They want me to do flex fuel. I asked if we should just to torco or boostane, they said that would be good. They I asked why don't we re-tune for 93 if I use octane boost consistently. Then they said no, it would hardly do anything and maybe I would only see 10 horsepower that I would not feel.
This didn't make any sense to me, if I'm losing 30 to 40 horsepower with 91 and they retuned it then why wouldn't it be better than keeping whatever they did with the 91 tune with octane Booster? Seems like I could have just did the octane booster from the start to get it working with the factory tune instead of tuning it at all.
I'm ignorant when it comes to this stuff but I'm trying to figure out if I can trust what I'm being told. Thank you in advance and sorry for the long question

It sounds like they gave you a cheap, pre-designed tune that wasn't compatible with your engine and didn't bother adjusting it to match. Either they have no idea what they're doing and just uploading software they pulled off the internet, or they just didn't feel like doing their job that day.

Something to think about....I buy a LOT of aviation fuel....more than 10k gals a month. I talked to the techs and they told me they ad Zylene (Zylol commercial name at ace hardware) to the fuel to get octane numbers. I run 12/1 pistons in my Harley and at high altitudes it usually will not spark knock unless it's over 100*. I keep a small bottle of Zylol with me all the time so if there's a place I can't get high test I can add about 2 oz per gallon and no more knock. Never burnt a piston or a spark plug and the motor has more than 40k miles on this build. I run 30+* of timing with zero problems....no compression releases and a big cam. Just sayin.....straight from the techs..... By the way...I have the tuning school home study course and I tuned my 99 FRC corvette and it runs perfect at all times

The carbon cleaning they tried to sell you is just an upsell tactic to sell you some more work. American Honda does not recommend any type of Carbon Cleaning. • @douglasm3310
      @douglasm3310 2 года назад +1

While the would have had to run it a little to actually get the blended fuel to the rails (and I’m sure they did) but it would have picked up power exactly like this because the tune was pulling 2.2 deg of timing on pump gas. The coyote engine targets a set max timing and then uses knock sensors to pull timing till there is no more knock. This change is even more pronounced on a boosted engine mine makes about 50 more hp on the same tune with Boostane than it does on straight 91 because on 91 it pulls a bunch of timing.

Michael Angel from an internet search I found.
Methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT or MCMT) is an organomanganese compound with the formula (C5H4CH3)Mn(CO)3. Initially marketed as a supplement for use in leaded gasoline, MMT was later used in unleaded gasoline to increase the octane rating. Following the implementation of the Clean Air Act (United States) (CAA) in 1970, MMT continued to be used alongside tetraethyl lead (TEL) in the US as leaded gasoline was phased out (prior to TEL finally being banned from US gasoline in 1995), and was also used in unleaded gasoline until 1977. Ethyl Corporation obtained a waiver from the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in 1995, which allows the use of MMT in US unleaded gasoline (not including reformulated gasoline) at a treat rate equivalent to 8.3 mg Mn/L (manganese per liter).[2]
MMT has been used in Canadian gasoline since 1976 (and in numerous other countries for many years) at a concentration up to 8.3 mg Mn/L (though the importation and interprovincial trade of gasoline containing MMT was restricted briefly during the period 1997-1998)[3][4] and was introduced into Australia in 2000. It has been sold under the tradenames HiTEC® 3000, Cestoburn and Ecotane.[5][6]
Though initially marketed in 1958 as a smoke suppressant for gas turbines, MMT was further developed as an octane improver in 1974. When the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ordered the phase out of TEL in gasoline in 1973, new fuel additives were sought. TEL has been, and still is, used in certain countries as an additive to increase the octane rating of automotive gasoline.
In 1977, the US Congress amended the CAA to require advance approval by the EPA for the continued use of fuel additives such as MMT, ethanol, ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), etc.[7] The new CAA amendment required a "waiver" to allow use of fuel additives made of any elements other than carbon, hydrogen, oxygen (within certain limits) and nitrogen.[8] To obtain a waiver, the applicant was required to demonstrate that the fuel additive would not lead to a failure of vehicle emission control systems.
Ethyl Corporation (Ethyl) applied to the US EPA for a waiver for MMT in both 1978 and 1981; in both cases the applications were denied because of stated concerns that MMT might damage catalytic converters and increase hydrocarbon emissions. In 1988, Ethyl began a new series of discussions with the EPA to determine a program for developing the necessary data to support a waiver application. In 1990, Ethyl filed its third waiver application prompting an extensive four-year review process. In 1993, the U.S. EPA determined that use of MMT at 8.3 mg Mn/l would not cause, or contribute to, vehicle emission control system failures.[9]

    • @MustangGuru
      @MustangGuru 5 лет назад +3

      Michael Angel In addition.
A manganese fuel additive, MMT, is now being used in many unleaded gasolines to improve their octane quality. Use of MMT at concentrations up to 0.033 g Mn/ℓ (0.125 g Mn/gal) is expected to increase. To determine the effect of MMT on exhaust emission control systems, five cars were tested for 80 000 km (50,000 miles) using a driving schedule which included 113 km/h (70 mph) steady speed driving. In this type of operation, use of MMT caused: plugging of monolithic converters located close to the exhaust manifold; partial plugging of an underfloor bead converter; an increase of hydrocarbon emissions from the engines; and excessive spark plug deposits. However, use of MMT apparently enhanced catalytic converter oxidizing activity and did not substantially affect octane requirement increase. These preliminary data suggest that use of MMT in commercial gasolines may cause problems with exhaust emission control systems now in use.

It would be nice if Boostane actually had some type of easy way to measure how much you are putting in your tank... For most of us we dont know how much 4 ounces is etc. A can of Boostane comes in 32 Oz. If Im running 91 octane and want 94 then i have to add 4 Oz of Boostane, is the cap 1 Oz? is the bottle see through on a side to see how much is left like they do on motor oil? Would be nice if they did that to make measuring easier on the fly... Im not putting a whole bottle of boostane in with a tank of 91... I dont need 99 octane which is what I would get if I put a whole can in of Boostane to a 24 gallon tank of 91. considering each can costs $30.

Go to your local hardware store and buy a quart paint mixing cup and funnel. The cup is transparent and makes measuring easy. I just refill my used boostane cans with desired amount and keep a couple in the trunk.

Boostane does work but it does leave orange crap on plugs and 02 censors

Damn that 2011 with 2018 mani and jlt seem such a low hp. I thought they would make 400+ to the wheel with those mods according to vmp 🤔

Yeah every other car when similar mods including mines it's closer to 400 with a gen 1 coyote 15% driveline loss should put car at about what they have down I'm thinking car has mods with no tune

Unfortunately this and alli the other octane boosters including torco destroy spark plugs. They leave an orange coating and reduce the life, efficiency and integrity of the spark plug, which in some instances can cause them to chip or break off. This can cause catastrophic engine failure.

      Alex,
We completely understand where you are coming from, as what you have said has been completely accurate from all boosters (that actually create octane). That is until we developed our proprietary chelating carrier and delivery system for the active ingredients. As a result, we have been able to prevent the excessive buildup that causes these harmful side effects.
See here a quick explanation and visual to what I am referring to.
      ruclips.net/video/gKaHMPw0zQ8/видео.html
Don't get me wrong, we are not able to eliminate some of discoloration, just the excessive buildup that other additives cause due to their inability to maintain suspension, and the higher density active ingredients being pulled through in a coagulated form. At the end of the day though, if you are running over 100 octane, whether it is with a booster or race fuel, expect that some engine internals like plugs will not have the same lifespan as they would had they not been under the extra load of high octane/higher compression/more timing/etc.

BOOSTane would you recommend this on just a track use or something we can use daily ?

Alex, i used Boostane in my 2018 Dodge Demon, and had my dodge techs at the dealership check my spark plugs. The techs advised the plugs look great other then light color change but were in good condition. You can see the Techs response and my spark plug change here 8.35 ruclips.net/video/_5IZx8O2y1M/видео.html

For the most part that does not matter, for race cars, trucks, boats it does not matter. In a street car you should be running it in kill mode 24/7. I have a 572ci bbc with a 4.0l whipple in my boat running 10lbs of boost somewhere around 1100hp. In our industry we run a richer afr to keep combustion temps down because of sustained high rpm cruises, so I change plugs a couple times a year to keep peak performance. So some extra soot on plugs does not matter.

Killed your plugs? False news. Been using MMT boosters since 2002, never have any of them "killed" plugs.

Do you drive your car with the hood open? Then why would you do a test with it open? The engine is getting more air that way. Not real world results.
