People love the evolution of the Beatles but hate the evolution of Metallica (load/reload). Metallica members are not supposed to be thrashers only. They're supposed to be musicians and Metallica prooved that they are real good musicians with long songs or shorter ones
I love Load/Reload stuff. As a musician I can subscribe to what you say, we don't enjoy playing the same thing over and over, we want new perspectives from time to time.
They are still amazing.People need to understand this:Have you ever wondered,how difficult it is to be on tour(and still give amazing performances)at this age,after all these years?These guys are 55+ years old.They got families and they stay on the road(air :P ) for so long.They have been doing this since the early 80's and they still kick ass.As a singer myself i find James's voice truly amazing.Ofcourse he is gonna be off key/fuck up a note/forget the lyrics etc sometimes.He is just a human like you are.The same goes for every musician out there.And you know what?Thats the beauty of live music. sometimes it is really hard to keep your voice in shape when you are on tour,even if you are young and well trained.Some people say that the reason they still tour is because of money.Let me tell you.They got more than enough to sustain 50 more generations.This is what they do since they were little kids.If they just stop i bet they will get so depressed.A true musician never stops writing/playing music.Music is there until you blow out your last breath.Even if they stop in a couple of years,i bet James is gonna do a solo album(country or something like that)Robert is gonna join another band etc.I dont see them retiring any time soon though!Anyways. Well said. I agree 💯. These are legends doing what they love to do. Each member plays with an individual fury and passion. Each is a master in their own right and of their instrument. This is the hallmark of the Mt Rushmore bands. Metallica is up there with the Beatles, Floyd, Zeppelin, and the Who. But outlasted them all and still going.
This is the best performance of The Memory Remains imo. It’s much more powerful than the studio version. The audience plays a huge role in making this song epic...

I rarely see phones at metal concerts. I don't know why there was none here but in Norway the crowd is so fucking wild that if you have a phone in your hand, that phone will end up at the other side of the arena smashed or literally stomped so hard down it has merged with the concrete you're standing on no joke.
Because this isn't the US, and it's Metallica. If it were a new rock or "metal" band, the crowd would be tons of young people all with their phones out trying to get something for their snapchat or whatever.

Crowd was definitly loud enough. Germans are not the loudest singers, but I think with most passion. I went to the concert in cologne and im going to go to Berlin aswell. unfortunately some germans are too shy to sing

I love Metallica with everything. But the only thing that grinds my gears a bit, is when a song gets played slightly quicker than the album version. I feel like the groove gets lost. It doesn't kill it on ALL their songs...sometimes it works.
