The sheer pain I've been put through by the Siegfried players that I've come across this last month is completely different in comparison to this, especially cus while it's rare, when you come across meme divs of 3 Siegfrieds shooting you at the same time you realize their "decent" battlecruiser accuracy becomes terrifying
not battlecruiser, but a proper cruiser dispersion. And for ship with this armamanet ( 6 380s, 26s base reload ), its a must.
Don't understand why folks complain about Siegfried's secondaries. It never had a sec gimmick. That was Ägir's thing. Siegfried was always focused on the 380s.
I thought that was true during testing, but then just before release WG swapped the two so Siegfried had the better secondaries. Can anyone confirm?
@@rickwiggins283 Siegfried always had it's current secondaries. Ägir had better sec performance during testing, which was swapped for main battery accuracy before release. If you look at the ship models in game you'll notice Ägir has more secondary turrets than Siegfried.
Interesting. I'm confused myself then because others like Sealord Mountbatten have videos about Siegfried getting so nerfed after the commander skill rework. (I only own the Agir BTW).
@@rickwiggins283 That's because the rework removed secondary skills from cruisers. I think many simply assume they're supposed to be secondary ships because they're german.

@@Just_som_Ottur, you generally have more potential hp (you have HEALS) than half or more of the enemy team...

23:16 against Austin, you would need some "very big" BB, ( read the ones with 32mm owermatch ) to see some diference, you are already owermatching 26mm, so 16mm bow and stern of Austin is not the thing that you care about, but the dumb WG decision to make all the rest 32, sadge.
PS: "icebreaker" was something I was pointing out the whole time during testing this ship, let even arguing with their own documents. But Sub Octavian said NO from "balancing" resons. And secondaries - Sigi was never the secondary ship, not enough of them, and the reload on them was always this standard as you see these days. Tbf, Siegfried never changed from the first annoucment in devblog - only things that changed are the ones that changed with the game itself - IFHE changes, commander changes, but the ship itself was released just at it was announced in the day 1. Which is interesting. The days, when WG was able to design ship "right" :D
So yeah, this is my child I was with from the day one and I am pretty satisfied how it still can work. You only need to be more lucky with MM and targets...

I love this ship but unfortunately it melts anytime a BB looks at it. But the AP is no joke
This is one of my favorite ships. Can do so much work in her.
You should play Sevastopol as a follow up. They're very similar but Sevastopol was never nerfed with the captain rework
Sevastopol is much weaker than seigfried you should see yuro's video on seigfried where he has compared these two ships
And one thing seigfried can overmatch Sevastopol but Sevastopol can't overmatch seigfried lmao

You have to come close undetected on a flank, like 10-15 km range , to excel in this ship. If you can manage to do this you can wreck some ships. The guns can hit pretty hard. But this is Pretty hard to do these days in the current sniping meta. Otherwise playong this ship kitting away it is not very good.
Sevastopol would be a nice followup to this :D

I just got the Seigfried about a week ago. About 30 battles into her....was a rough go in randoms but I was unlucky with teams. Really strong in ranked I found. Over all I enjoy it, plan on getting the Agir at some point also
I got Agir by extreme luck in a santa container last year and it's been a blast for me. Not quite taking the throne as my favorite cruiser, that's still Napoli, but it is fun none the less. It might even be better against cruisers because the lower caliber guns (305s vs 380s) tend to overpen less on boradside targets. Can't say for sure though, I don't have the Siegfried myself.
Glad I never went for this ship. Next ship request, how about the once great Buffalo.

@@roberthsieh8639 As I've said to other people, Its not the gameplay I want to watch, but the embarrassment PQ has to go through while doing it. If he actually did it, I would laugh along with everyone else, and be satisfied when it was over. That's all I want. Is that too much?

Borodino, I never see it but I always thought the combo of Russian radar would be good on a ship with supposedly accurate guns
Not enough guns is the problem, precisely put. Otherwise it’s a decent ship.
The dispersion on Borodino isn't very good, yeah better than average but it's not good enough with only six guns, and the nose is 25mm which is horrific to deal with.
Borodino is so much fun, it is my second most played ship. For the most part, the guns are very accurate and the radar is more useful than you might expect. The real strength however, is that no one plays it, and therefore they don't know what it is and how it works. This means that a lot of the time people just ignore you because they think "No one plays it, therefore it must be trash" allowing you to delete broadsides with ease. Despite the on paper weak bow armour, most shots that overmatch you bounce of the icebreaker, or people assume it has 32mm bow because tier 8 Russian bb and aim for the superstructure. Only major downsides are a gigantic citadel that most cruisers can pen, and that it's very reliant on being bow in so cv and subs will ruin your game.

yeah. that Yamagiri in 2nd(3rd) just underscores why don't play randoms anymore. toxic doesn't even begin to describe that wunderchild.

Either Schors or Chapayev. Have some of the best fun in those ships thanks to how well they can kite and how accurate they are compared to their tier 10 counterpart

Now that they've redone cruiser secondaries you should take a look at this again.
Looking for the Rio de Janeiro. Mean broadside power for a tier V but an absolute brick in terms of handling and maneuverability.
Sometimes BBs think that you are crusier a d often end up giving broadside.

I got this ship after watching your vid, thinking that maybe I could do better. I played 5 battles and only won one. To say that I have buyers remorse is to put it lightly. I went back to the Alaska for some healing - which it did. If anyone is watching this and reading this: don't buy the Siegfried - Get the Ohio instead

I play this ship quite a fair bit in the past, now....not so much. it's a good ship overall, but would've been more fun if it had it's secondary build thingy back

I already have Agir, Alaska and Stalingrad so not sure I want to grind out. The gun accuracy is appealing.
I bet they don't want to give its secondaries back so it doesn't go in the same territory as the Schlieffen line. The captain rework and release of the Schlieffen line were very close together, it was probably to boost a bit the popularity of the new line or something.
as I said 10000 times, this was never a secondary oriented ship, that was Ägir. You always had only "standard" dispersion on them and standard reload unlike the "meme-brother". and it has 1 less turret / side. So no. If you wanted this for the secs, it was always the worse choice.
Good lord almighty play the Roon!!!! I can't get over 120k dmg and barely 100k in coins, very difficult to grind to T10 and could heavily use some tips on gameplay

I find it very difficult and rare to perform well or be effective in this thing. I bought it for the same reason, meme sec build... this ship really struggles to find a good role to play well. Really good looking ship though, and occasional overmatch with 380mm is pretty nice at times. Very accurate for 6 guns, and I can sometimes citadel BBs like Montana at max range 18+ km

I don't really think losing the secondaries range/accuracy on Siegfried/Agir matter, they're meant for mid/long range and for close range you still have the torps. I have both and i love them, Agir is a bit stronger, it deal better with dds because of the number of guns and faster reload. But Siegfried is deadly against cruisers. I also have Alaska and i prefer Agir , ok you lose radar but you're way tankier and the better shell velocity make all the difference.

That's one nice thing about these two German BC's. They have amazing torpedo belts. Much better than any German BB. Not so Schroder, that one is as shit as Bismarck's.

That Duncan sequence in game 1 is the kind of thing that caused me to walk away from the game. You hit with 15in AP to a perfect broadside and get nothing. He hits with HE and does 10k plus and 3 fires. That's weak.
Idk why would anyone get Siegfried over Ohio or even Sevastopol if they want a cruiser.
Wasn't the secondary thing more like Aegir's gimmick, though? I don't recall Siegfried being praised fro the strong secondaries... rather citicised for the too strong AP on main guns... "overpen city", I remember it called...

this is my only research bureau ship, they destroyed it the week i got it , my one steel ship is the FDR purchased 1 day before the mega nerfs. they are the two reasons i stopped playing this game.
I keep seeing people bring up commander rework being a "nerf" to this ship and I'm still completely dumfounded why anyone would ever get this ship and then spec it for secondaries even pre rework. Wild.

The fact that the Georgia exists really negates the intended playstyle of the Siegfried (post-nerf). So if anyone here thinks Siegfried is worth getting, just get the Georgia if its still possible.
I don't have the Siegfried, but I've found the Georgia's main gun accuracy to be nothing to write home about. Crazy fast and wild secondaries are fun.
