Surviving Addiction is an interview series that highlights the real people who are impacted by addiction and the lenses which they experience it through. Whether it's the healthcare professional, community leader, family member or the person who has lived with a substance use disorder, addiction impacts the lives of everyone it touches. In this series, we learn of the humanity of those that addiction has touched and the profound lessons learned through their experiences.
Episode 6:
Dr. Lisa Lefebvre holds a Certificate of Added Competence in Addiction Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. She was previously the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program Director at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto where she practiced for a decade before moving into community-based practice. Dr. Lefebvre is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto where she continues to teach and mentor the next generation of Addiction Medicine fellows. Dr. Lefebvre believes strongly in the value of grassroots advocacy to reduce the stigma surrounding addiction.
