I know this is a no sew tutorial and I do sew the waistband at the beginning, but you can glue it instead if you can't sew. I just sew it for extra security.

Hi! I have some questions. I'm not artsy at alllll with like irl art, just graphic design. I'm lost on what to do here. I bought one of those ceiling canopy's that goes above your bed, it's a 4 post bed one. It has a string of star shaped lights with black colored tulle that goes above the ceiling and ties around each post. Problem is, that it is too thin I want to buy more tulle from Joann's to thicken the layers up. I want to add pink in it too, so a few layers of pink and some black. Do you know how I could attack those together? Can you attach tulle together somehow? Also, what shade name of pink is the tulle you bought if you remember, and is it shiney tulle or matte? I wasn't sure if it matters in your opinion if light would shine off of the shiny tulle better vs. matte. This is going to be apart of my youtube video filming background, so I'm concerned there may be some weird reflections that come off of shiny tulle, do you think that would happen? Thank you!! I was going to order the tulle online and since I've never seen it irl or know how to craft things, my last resort is hopping on here hoping someone can help. :)

This is probably late but I have some tips for you! 🩷
First you want to buy the pink tulle. Depending on how long the canopy is, you will know how much tulle to buy. All you need to do is take a measuring tape and measure your canopy. When you do that, go on Google and convert it to yards. Remember the number! Then you're gonna go to Joann and get your tulle and then grab a number and go up to the desk to get it cut. Just tell the lady how many yards you need and she will cut it. Once you're home if you have a sewing machine, you just need to sew the top of the pink tulle to the top of the black tulle. If you can get the canopy out of a loop that's great and will be helpful! If you can't, then lots of sewing machines have a kind of like arm sticking out and you can put the arm inside of the canopy to sew it. If you don't have a sewing machine you want to use a backstbackstitch, where each stitch is side by side. There are loads of youtube tutorials on this because it's probably the most vital stitch you need to learn to handsew. Hope this helped!

I’ve done these and using the cardboard saves time on measuring and cutting. Not for layers bc you’ll attach one piece at a time to the waistband(crochet headband). A piece of cardboard the length of the tutu you desire, a couple of cuts and you have many like pieces. I hope this helps 😊
