This was the first version I played legally lmao. Started out playing some ''free'' alpha build my friend graciously shared with me in 2010. Extremely nostalgic.
Beta 1.3 was the first update after I started Minecraft, I started with 1.2 when I was 8 years old, and 1.3 came out right after. I'm 22 now and it's so strange to look back at how the game used to be and how it is now. I think I need to start a 1.3 world and maybe hit up my brother and see if he wants to try playing tekkit again like when we were kids :)
Beta 1.7.3 is probably the best version but I love beta 1.3 because it still has the alpha stars and with no grass and older textures than beta 1.7.3 it's probably my favorite single player version but 1.7.3 is my fav for multiplayer
I started around when Minecraft came out but my core memories on the game are actually around 1.7.2 but that’s just when I started really playing the game. Spent the majority of early Minecraft just watching others 😭
i found many anomaly in this version - like an igloo with full chest inside and two bed 😮 (i dunno if this is a part of the removed old structure in minecraft - like pyramid stone briks) and something else
biomes were added in beta 1.3 too. if you update though, the biomes get saved to the seed not the world, so a plains biome could be a desert in the future. shift click was added in beta 1.5. dragging was added in some release version, maybe like 1.1 or something. also beta 1.3 had a different world format, and before this you had only 5 save files. along with that in this version you could no longer play world that hadn't been in beta. you had to update them to beta before you played them in this version. and the save files couldn't be named, so when updated the world save said "world1," and i don't think you could rename lol. ok this is a lot of words now. beds were also added.
idk if ya would be interested but, im starting a smp for my channel that goes through every single minecraft snapshot, and updates daily! hit me up if ya are.
@degenatron2319 your welcome :) my best suggestion would be to fresh install graphics drivers using a tool called DDU and add Minecraft, the included Java executable with Minecraft, and your own Java installation to Nvidia Control Panel and set anti aliasing from there manually for each or set them as application settings. I used to have issues for years with anti aliasing but that’s what fixed it for me when I was still on Nvidia. Anti aliasing just seems to work for me with an AMD graphics card though. No idea with Intel graphics though.
You're a God, thank you so much for fixing an issue I have had since 2011. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out, have a good day! I love you, straight homo.@@TastyGuava

2:05 TU1 for Xbox 360 was based on Beta 1.6.6, before the Cobblestone texture was changed and Pistons were added.
Just love being reminded how terrifying minecraft used to be.
This version stands out for me because it was the version the PC gamer demo ran on. This was a lot of people’s introduction to MC
I completely forgot about that edition
i think this is the version my brother played when i was 6

how did you get anti aliasing to work in this version??
Question I never thought I’d get. I think I just had in-game settings at highest and probably added anti aliasing through the Nvidia control panel
I tried all that must be an issue on my end, thanks for the quick reply :)@@TastyGuava
