Congratulations Emmily for these gifts from your mom. She is a very supportive caring mom.
I hear you will switch your freezer on at daytime and switch off at night time. If Power coming from the grid is unstable it leads to power overload or sometimes under supply of electricity into the appliance. The appliance components get burnt and might need to be replaced at high cost. You need to buy a Power Surge protector to regulate power going to the appliance and protect the freezer/fridge compressor
Even if you add your solar power you still need the Power Surge protector

💯 Thank you for this info Ruby!!
Definitely something for me to think about, and discuss with my electrician.

You should not use fridge/freezer immediately after transportation or any movements. After transportation give it a whole day to settle the liquid inside the compressor. After any movements give it atleast 1 hour to settle. Thank me later 😊

Haiya, let me thank you now 😄
Luckily, I haven't moved it nor turned it on since we tested it.

Thank you so much for the love, all the way from Zimbabwe!!🙏🏿
Sorry for the little understanding of some of my words. A couple of people have mentioned it to me too. I'm going to try and use more English.
I used to have a friend from Zimbabwe, called Mulenga. But we lost touch. She was a really nice person 🙂

When freezer is closed, it doesn't open up right away. Give it a couple minutes and it open.

Washing machine & freezer zinaeza run kwa 2kva hybrid inverter. Lakini ukiweka pasi, oven itakua overloaded.
Fridge needs continuous supply and inverter should be pure sine wave hii mambo ya kuzima kuwasha utaharibu Bure.
Kama ungepata 5kva system the better, expensive but better. 5kva hybrid inverter, 400w panelx4, 200ah battery x4 kisha ufanyiwe wiring ya 240v kama ya kenya power so that if you wish to eventually connect to kplc grid you just add a grid/ solar switch solar ikue automatic backup system stima zikipotea. If you don't need kplc 5kva ni stima tosha coz you're not running a factory. Na itasupport hizo water pump uko nazo.i dont know supplier rift valley region but check if davis n shirtliff are in your area.
With solar you don't want mtu wa trial n error.

@@EmmilyTiampati to know what your solar system can support and what it cant, calculate the voltage of your appliances. All electricals have that information printed somewhere. For larger appliances like fridge it's at the back/side. For smaller like phone, pc it's on the charger. For bulbs it's on bulb or packet. So determine what will be running full time like fridge, and what is running only few hours like phone, maybe your doing your washing twice a week etc. Add up the voltage then multiply by 3
Thats how much voltage you need.
So basically a 2kva system can comfortably run 600w items full time on days when you have full sun. Coz the batteries are constantly charging. When it rains/ cloudy the batteries will drain faster with 600w load coz you're using stored up power ie not constantly recharging. Thats where a higher kva system comes in handy

Good video, i suggest you upgrade your power system as the electrician suggested, turning the freezer on and off is not a good idea The freezer will turn on and off depending on the settings, therwise enjoy your gifts you have a wonderful mom

What this expat is suggesting is not economical viable.
The extra 200AH batteries are too and expensive and you have to replacement annually.
You should have gone for a 24 volts DC solar freezer ,which operate on direct solar during the day and on existing storage battery's at night.
Have you also realized you now have enough electric power to run your water pump?
You don't need the generator to run the water pump any more saving you on fuel cost.

      Okay, good to know Waweru.
Yea on the water pump, he did tell me we can use the extra 2000w inverter for that. But there are a few things that I'll need to buy, like wire ya ku connect from house where power source is, to the pump on the outside.
