  • Skiing Pinner Couloir outside Mammoth Lakes, CA. I like to use google earth to find the easiest way up and down couloirs in areas I've never skied before. Luckily i was able to scope this line from a couple days earlier, so i knew it went through. I was able to hike up the safe route, away from rock and wet slides in the chute, then ski down it quick and as safe as possible.

@@O_leeps Not only that but also your thought process on how you approach an objective like that is valuable learning.

Agreed. Last few videos are a nice compliment to the usual crazy clips!

I’ve always though mammoth was a let down, but it’s what you make it. I’m glad you found some lines out there

Nice video. I'm surprised that there is still that much snow up there.
About 40 years ago Allen Bard and Tom Carter skied this in leather boots, three pin bindings on metal edge cross country skis. Hence the name pinner.

1:25 Oh sure, "safer", like, safer than jumping into a tank full of sharks with fish strapped to every limb... what a great video, thanks for sharing this.

See that corn? It's not fun. It will knock the crap out of you on a rock. I don't take that chance.
