They are not 5/16. 5/16 works, but this a German car. What is the mm measurement of the bolts?

You may want to check the owner's manual to see what the recommended oil weight is for the engine.

If I'm not mistaking that is the transmission dipstick, the oil can only be checked via the on board computer.

Correction. The dipstick is omitted on some models. Mine is the 04' E320 and it is omitted and therefore can only be checked via the onboard CPU. Gotta love Mercedes.

I have E350 gasoline, W211 year 2007 and I have a dipstick for engine oil. I don't have a dipstick on the gearbox.
