For the most part, the seniors living out of SUV's are out west where the weather is tolerable. (Per all the YT videos I've watched) The younger crowd can more easily crouch, move about, and handle more adverse situations. Overnight parking is slim pikin's here in NY. I'm sure you folks know that. But, you're right. Test it out before jumping into a build-out and diving in.

Great list! You have a very good camera presence. Is it true that RUclips pays attention to views going to the very end of the video? If so, you may want to make your outro shorter. I’ve really been enjoying this latest set of videos.

You two are awesome! Just discovered you because I'm thinking about buying a Ford Transit Connect that someone converted to a camper. It's similar to yours. I've been camping in my Prius for three years and I've got it down. Love it. I do mostly urban camping where my car is more of a hotel to sleep than a handout space (just got back from a week in NYC, which went great). Even wonder if a bigger vehicle is what I need but I guess I won't know til I try. Thanks so much for all the thoughtful advice, tips, and explanations.

Thank you again for this video. Especially what you say about the feeling of happiness that camper life can give. I also feel that every day when I drive my van or even just sit. That's when I feel at my best. So I completely agree with you! I'm looking forward to your next video! Greetings from Hetty in a cold and very wet Netherlands!

Beautifully said! You are so right, some of our best moments in the van were in the small moments where we were sitting around a campfire enjoying the feeling of freedom van life gives. Thank you for watching we really do appreciate it! Greetings from Buffalo, New York also very cold and wet 😊

I test the most at first at home, before mounting in my also small van.
Now the portable buddy heater with a propane gas bottle, and it works very well.
First I check other vanlifer about their experinces in this country.
And then I decide, if I want to travel in this country - or not.
Here in Europe, the countries are very different about Vanlife.
And Switzerland is most difficult, because so many different rules and laws.

Recently we have been doing the same, researching van life in other countries! We hope to do some international van life one day too 😊 Thank you for watching, we really do appreciate it!

@@mikeandheather You would become crazy, if you get all the laws and rules in Europe about camping. Or only overnight in your vehicle.
But Locals with practice can tell you, what`s
      all possible.
But in the US I think: Same problems.
      What`s all forbidden.
And Campgrounds could be very expensive.
A vanlifer in the US jumped from the bed to the driverseat in the night.
To show the Police there, that he don`t sleep.

Great advice, my favorite part of caravan is spending time with my son. We are pretty close and enjoy each other's company. Its important to go with the flow and be flexible, things always happen. What state was your favorite? Or top 5 states

    • @mikeandheather
      @mikeandheather  10 месяцев назад

That is so sweet! I'm sure your son appreciates it just as much as you 😊 It is easy to say our favorite states were Hawaii and Alaska because they were so unlike anywhere else we had traveled to at that point. But if we had to choose our favorite states from the lower 48, we really enjoyed Vermont, Utah and California!
