In addition, the small print in the agreement, wants you to consent to keep copies of al you data.
Or just load em with third party firmware and add them to a linux based NAS recorder. Setup an openVPN connection between the server and your phone for a secure pipe while away and you have like 99% of the functionality they charge out the nose for. They're just cameras and servos with a wifi radio, not pieces of high tech guarded secrets..... There are literally thousands of tutorials online that hold your hand through every step. So if you want to be lazy and just purchase cheap security instead of learn how it works and thus how its securing you.....well you get what you pay for.....

@@vinylcabasse Not really, unfortunately. Id poke around the tasmota/HA crowd for something moddable (actively developed 3rd party firmware, jailbreaks, etc...). There is also the option of getting blackbox camera/optics/ipcam packages, they're basically the image and control systems that go into the pantilt dome rigs. Or roll your own with either a USB sensor, or one of the RPi camera sensors and a zero (or zero variants, like the banana pi models. Haven't played with them yet but they look interesting), you can even find sensor boards with some appreciable level of zoom. Im currently using an old model B v2 and a 5MP sensor with a 222 degree ultrawide FOV lens to watch the front yard (12mm mount, i think. I believe it was an amazon grooovtech (or however many Os that name has...) unit, got a set of 2 meter cables too. Haven't had a problem with the cameras themselves, the camera ribbon cables (white after market type with the blue tabs) on the other hand have issues delaminating internally potentially letting the inner conductors touch or developing breaks in the conductor material). Binned down to 720, it usually sits at the frame limit (30fps) I set in Rpi Cam Web Interface during the day, and I pull it down to 4fps at night via a shutter speed setting. I can see all the way down to the corners of the street 8 houses down in each direction. A bit of the sensor is wasted some, but the bulk if what Id want to see (ie, entryway, driveway, sidewalk that passes the primary entryway path, etc) is in the less distorted center of view. The detail resolution in the distorted edges is still good enough to know when a delivery truck rounds the corner. And, while I have yet to implement IR illumination (I prefer passive even with the ov5647(?) 5MP sensor as illumination sticks out like a sore thumb to anyone else with an IR sensitive camera. That being said, some of these 'starlight' sensors and the research algorithms for pulling more detail out of the dynamic range is damn near mouthwatering), I can still usually tell when someone is creeping the block with their lights out (damn porch pirates. I also have a project on the back burner that will learn the local normal wifi device traffic, ignore it, then specifically listen for any wifi/BT/tire pressure sensor RF transmissions (because TPRS sensors have a unique identifier 😉) and (hopefully) associate said RF emissions to a vehicle driving by. If someone pulls something in my neighborhood (we recently had someone going around drilling open the centralized mailboxes) I would (hopefully) have some uniquely identifying information to pass on to police (things like wifi probe requests, even with mac address randomization can reveal your likely haunts. And your device can still be fingerprinted passively, even easier if an 'evil twin' is quickly spun up to trick the phone into connecting and sharing even more uniquely identifying info) along with collected video from neighbors of their vehicle. Honestly, I dont know why more HOAs dont get every xenophobe....er I mean, neighbor with security camera, onto a group chat/email in order to track and monitor an event of ne'er-do-wellery. Might reveal things like a license plate, face shot, common route into/out of the area....all things to help stop the industrious shit heels. Of course if you're not pulling shit, or are supposed to be here (ie actual neighbors) data is eventually purged (except MAC address and time stamps of course. Historic data can be very useful depending on the need. Besides Google is doing the exact same thing from every android device all the time so .... yeah, I don't feel bad about it. At least its purely a correlation tool to catch thieves, Google uses their data to shove ulcerative colitis ads down your throat because your phone heard you say 'butt' or 'poop' No, Im not joking. Try it yourself, and pay attention to your RUclips ads..... funny how access to the mic is disabled yet only when I speak of butt do those commercials play...... Anyhoo...what the hell was the question again? Oh yeah.....) No, not off the top of my head. But a golden rule is that if they offer out of house access, and cloud storage, it is NOT your footage, and they are hosing customers (walled gardens don't contain customers, they contain involuntary typically non-savvy tech-ignorant (there is nothing wrong with that, no one person can know everything. There is plenty Im ignorant of!) captives whether they realize it or not. Also known as not a good look) charging a relative arm and a leg for 'features' that can easily be implemented with an old AMD FX series era desktop, a sata pcie card, and some spinning disk drives (for initial storage, then analyze, cut out dead air (nothing significant changes), etc, and then store on either ssd or spinning platter cold storage. Hell, both if you have the resources.... Copy the storage box, put a clone in a friends/relatives house for offsite storage(of course kick them some cash for the extra power draw). Really, the average person doesn't need the 99.999999999% uptime enterprise level hardware, and just needs solid reliable server software, reliable drives (which btw ssds apparently have surpassed HDDs in terms of lifetime full capacity overwrites....which is freaking awesome. Then again, if my HDD goes bad and I want that data bad enough it can be recovered physically with toys like electron microscopes, if the journal chip on a SSD goes bad with wear leveling your data is scrambled to the wind (AFAIK, there may have been advancements there too while I wasnt paying attention)) and a decent network interconnect. All a company needs to do is make a ring doorbell, or a decent pan tilt zoom camera, WITHOUT the bullshit or even better entitely open to be freely configured by the owner, and that company will make a killing from the tech savvy crowd telling the not tech savvy crowd "no seriously, get this one. Its good for you!" But none of them want to..... I think it should have better protection... or at least the option to save the videos on some local server (ftp) for example, ... Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even ruclips.net/user/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
this is nothing but a sales pitch. Why not explain the amounts of membership for cloud storage and how these cameras cease to work until you sign up. Many of these maintain your data when you do not want it filming.
That was my issue. I returned one that made you sign up for their cloud. I got one that worked with sd card. The cards are cheap and won’t make a difference whether they give them with the bulb camera, to me.
Is the XVIM water proof or weather proof for outdoor ? On the Amazon site it only says indoors, but your video says water resistant. Does it have spot light ? All these questions is for XVIM.
You are simply advertising these bulbs and, in fact, leaving a very vital point. The bulbs stop working after the subscription ends. You don't see anything, and the Chinese manufacturers can access your phone. And don't make the mistake of putting the camera indoors.

Bulb cameras, if screwed into most places they render all of the lights on the same switch useless. They don’t look that great. They are great innovations but most apps required to make them useful are greedy, pretty much extortion.
