The cons are for the people who payed over $300 for this phone on cricket. Anyone on metro, this is nothing really to complain about.

The speaker volume is fine for video games and RUclips but I can barely hear when talking using speaker phone or no speakerphone. Is yours as loud on Speakerphone as it is with your apps?

con for me is to swipe up on the bottom of the screen to return and I prefer the power button on the back like the Stylo 3

I ordered thirteen of these phones for our fleet and they love how simple it is to use. It takes photos, it does e-mail, it makes calls... isn't that good enough on an entry phone? No, these aren't super-phones but it does get the job done. A+ for LG on this model!

Some I'm not sure if all MetroPCS stores are offering the Stylo 4 for $30 if you Port your number over from another company. I ported my number over from Boost Mobile and paid $30 for my Stylo 4.

The speaker is the absolute worst. Like they went back in time to 1999 and found shittest speaker, and were like, "perfect".
I can verify the speaker sucks along with the communication I can not talk to someone with them complaining about hearing every other word break up problems.
Mine does the same thing, break up and a lot of static and scratchy sound even makes my earpiece sound terrible which it sound good with my other phones, my wife the same problem, or is it possibly because we switch to boost, the worst phone I ever had

1.) Stylus location is okay note I'm a lefty and have no trouble with it.

3.) battery life seems to be long.
4.) tons of ways to connect IE Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC with Google Pay,
5.) Fast responses

1.) it froze on reset guessing it was a hiccup. If it does that again then I may be concerned.

I'm debating on whether to get this phone, but I use my speakers a lot, so how good or bad is the speaker and how is the speaker when calling?
I like the stylous location because when you drop the phone if you do and have no case your less likely to damage the pen as I have already did.
I really wanted the stylo 3 cuz I heard such great reviews ( I draw on my phone, so the stylus was always a nice plus) I LOVED my stylo 2 and the 3 was pretty much the same as the 2 only with more internal memory. But Metro no longer lists the 3 on its site, only the 4. The low ram scares me a little cuz I also play pokego a lot and use hulu, etc... Will the 4 be able to hold up or should I hold out for the 5?..

The issue with the back being a magnet to scratches can easily be fixed even without a case. I use a skin on it and it feels better. Dont have to worry about scratches or fingerprints anymore

It's true that this device does scratch up easily on the back, I just hope that they put some really good coating on next year's LG Stylo and boost up the ram
I bought mine from cricket a few days ago and it may not be perfect, but way better than what I had. The speaker isnt great, but messing with the equalizer in the settings helped a little for sure

The only complaint I have is the 2 gigs of RAM. Sure when you first get the phone it runs great but as soon as you have a decent amount of apps installed on the phone it slows down considerably.
IndieFlick Jim I'll say this, whenever I buy this phone, I will post less frequently on social media on my Instagram or Facebook accounts. I will have NO games or either picture editing apps installed. When I want to set a wallpaper, I won't download Google Wallpapers, I will just download other wallpapers from the Google images. Hopefully whenever I'm buying this phone, I will have less apps and some bloatware apps disabled as many as possible. I might as well say only social media apps and a jetaudio music player will be installed, I won't have no other apps installed. 😉
IndieFlick Jim Helps if you get a fast micro SD card and use it as "internal" memory, meaning the phone uses it as if it was the internal memory
Or do what I did with Stylo 3, which also had 2Gb RAM, reduce number of "auto-start" items. It helps.

How well is the volume on your Stylo 4 when using speakerphone? I can't hear well enough to even carry on a conversation unless I use a bluetooth although strangely, apps and youtube videos play much louder than speakerphone. I have all volume settings to the max so it doesn't make sense to me. Does yours work t least well enough to talk on the phone?
I literally paid $100 for an LG Stylo 4 AND a Motorola E5 Plus, both with a months worth of service. 😜
Biggest con: Speaker. Our demo phone speaker was def one of the worst.

I have rocked many budget phones, but ultimately gave up on them. Tired of apps crashing all the time. 720p screens. Poor camera performance. Yes I know I know budget phones are not flagships but I figure those cons are worth paying the price to get a phone that performs as it should or expected. Last budget phone I tried was the zte blade z max. Now using the Galaxy S8. Had the zte for 3 weeks before I could not take it anymore. But the battery life was amazing, pry the best thing it had going for itself.

I am actually using a budget phone, the G6 Play which I think is a good phone but is a sucky performer butttt fantastic battery life. Only reason cause I am saving for the S8 next month. Wish I could get budget phone battery life on a flagship though.

for the speaker, you can use a volume booster and it will sound great and the styles are not bad for users that never had a cell phone that had it. and Amazon has awesome cases for it.
Ive sold a couple of them and have people coming in and calling to see if we have them, honestly i have to agree with you its way overpriced and under powered. That processor really needs a bigger battery and the charging port is funky, to get a standard C type to fit in it (other than the one that came with it) you have to shove it in there to get it to fit. The camera is substandard in my opinion, fine for regular picture taking but for videos, its not so great. I can't believe people are paying this much for it but they are. when they ask my opinion i point them in the direction of the Supra, it is a far better phone in every aspect.

This phone has an excellent display, I found it a bit annoying to set up though, but people seem to think bigger is better and this is certainly a big phone. With the ZTEs glitching, I'm pushing my customers to trade up for this device. It's the only way I see to make it affordable for the average consumer. As a daily phone, it may be ok. I'm still not impressed with the the battery.

I love the Stylo series simply because of the INCLUDED stylus. And no matter what it is still FAR AND AWAY more affordable than the Galaxy Note items.
Besides A MAJOR downside to "other" phones which are better, they don't have a stylus an I refuse at this point to buy a seperate one.
I had been considering the Stylo 4 on Cricket (Metro coverage not great in my area), but the tip on the Moto E5 Supra at Cricket was VERY helpful, I had totally missed that phone til this guy mentioned it. Thanks.
How's the microphone sensitivity in louder environments or when recording music at concerts? Is it clear or is it just fuzzy? My ZTE ZMAX PRO was always static like and fuzzy.
When is the "PLUS" version going to be released? Hopefully, lg Metro adds more ram and re-locates the stylus pen.

Got mine from straight talk and i have none of those problems. You can just use your thumb for the stylus and i think you just have defective speakers. Mine are fine... Mine has 4 GB so I think its just yours

Angelique Bost I have my Blade Z MAX and my old Moto E4, I'm hoping that I'm buying the Stylo 4 before they sell out. Also, the Moto E4 is a good phone too... It has a front flash for taking low light selfie pictures at night, and also it has a front speakerphone which can be either the earpiece or the speakerphone itself. The Blade Z MAX is a good phone too but sometimes it may freeze up and restart itself a lot but that's not a big problem, the camera quality is amazing I have to be honest. It has nearly all the features you want like portrait mode, monocolor, bokeh, panorama, multi-exposure and etc. I wish I keep this phone and the Stylo 4 like you but my little brother asked to have this ZTE when I get another phone, which is the Stylo 4. 😉😀😎

I love it! Honestly, I got it SOLELY for the NFC Feature Lol! But I love the fast charging, it's actually because of the charging block, it's labeled "fast charging". And with metro I paid like $120.
You have any issues with the phone repeatedly saying sd card unexpectedly removed? I keep getting that non stop throughout the day like 3 or 4 times a day!!! Is this just an all-around manufacturer issue with all the Stylo 4s?
Nichole Hamann It's just saying that you haven't first mounted it before you removed it. It's always safe to mount a card before you remove it, it says that it can cause data loss.

Maybe I just have really good hearing but the speaker on my LG Stylo 4 from MetroPCS actually sounds pretty decent. I did notice in your video your speaker did sound pretty weak. I wonder if something is wrong with yours.

I just got this phone. Is it just me or does it take a long time for the phone to fully charge. I was at 18% and took a little over an hour to fully charge. So how is this phone a fast charge???

I have a LG Stylo 3 right now im planning on upgrading to LG Stylo 4, But i was wondering can it load 1080p youtube videos, I know some devices have a native res of 1920x1080 (1080p) but they cannot always play 1080p youtube vids, for example the iphone 4s can play 1080p but cannot play 1080p 60fps (even though the native screen supports 60fps)?
Also a 1.8GHZ 8 Core Processor Snapdragon is pretty good but considering it is split by 50% per 4 cores used it would be roughly 1GHZ 4 core processor for all standard processing and 1GHZ 4 core for all Games.
The LG Stylo 3 has an absouluty Terrible speaker as well, the vid quality on LG Stylo 3 goes up to the max of 720p 60fps, the vid quality is gorgerous but the sound doesnt go with the gorgeous vid quality.

They are not selling any zte phones right now because zte broke a law with the US and had to pay a billion dollar fine. Don't know when zte phones will go back on sale in the US. If they do I would wait for the zte V9. So at this point if I needed a phone really bad I would go with the LG.

Well if we're talking about cons:
1. The back is easy to scratch
2. No manual mode on the camera.
3. The speaker is loud but sounds like crap
4. Could use more RAM
5. No option to mirror to my TV
6.i just found out about the LG Q stylus which takes care of these problems and is dust and water resistant. And has a better 16 mp camera

I ❤ the stylo 4.. Honestly i have no complaints. And i didn't have too settle for less. It has everything i need in a phone and does all that i need it to do and more. Love the game mode like on my galaxy s7 and how you can adjust the screen resolution. It's got led notification light, nice clear camera, type c fast charging, stylus, i paid $79 for the phone, it's the best in my opinion. I've had over100 phone's. High end, and mid range. This is the best by far.
Anything gloss will scratch easily when slid across certain surfaces. You cannot get around that at all unless you have a case.
I've had two notes and both had the stylus in the same spot as this phone. However, I guess I can see your point if previous Stlyo's had it positioned elsewhere.
It is what it is. You get what you pay for. I've always loved the stylo's but they are definitely not flagships.

I got this phone with activation fee for under $300. Good phone for a person like me on a budget. I appreciate the camera and the stylus location is awkward, but its still a nice feature.
I love my stylo 4 but honestly the camera is pretty bad and not as compared to high end phones I've always been a budget phone guy

Hmm i picked up whats supposed to be a stylo 4 from metropcs. It says its a stylo 4 bought it as a 4 but the more i am looking at it. The more i notice that it doesnt look like the stylo shown. The stylus is on the top. The camera is different it has a rocker type volume on the back integrated with the unlock button. I am wondering what the hexk i got lol. Is this an earlier stylo or a clone.....?
The Stylo 4 does not have the LG logo at the bottom of the screen it has been moved to the back, to make room for the bigger screen. You can not open the phone to replace the battery it is incased. The stylus has been moved to the bottom. The sim and micro sd card is slid into the side of the phone, side-by-side on a mini tray.
Also dont drop it from 2 feet or screen will crack. Other than that its an awesome phone.

the speaker is not that bad. its very loud and crisp. im a music producer and i do a lot of eqing in my music, i know when something is bad or good and the stylus is fine for me in my case because i dont use it. the back is whatever, i have a skin for my lg stylo 4. i have the black camo, for people who dont know, the skin isnt a case, its just for people who dont really want cases and its a very thin layer to make your phone stylish

I paid 30 bucks for this phone i came from the zte zmax pro which was horrible it would freeze all the time the battery would go from 100 to 20 in about and hour and a half
The most major change is the charging port... I have had two other stylos and now I have to buy everything all over...that is a investment all in its own. I’m left handed and stylus is still in a bad position...

Just a quick question for those who have this phone. I have the Stylo 3 and the one thing that bugs me is not being able to assign different text tones to each person on my contact list. Is this still the case with the Stylo 4? I'm on the Virgin Mobile network.
The only problem I seem to have with my Stylo 4 is that when I use what's app and I go into picture in picture mode it tends to freeze and when I tap on the home circle in the middle it tend to not respond and I always have to restart my phone because of it. This issue also happens with youtube as well. That's the only bug issue I have with the phone other than that it's a great phone. Just hope there's a patch fix update for the PIP problem.
The prime version (which I am using currently) that you can get on Amazon has 3 gigs of RAM built in.
