Bulgarian split squat jump is a killer, I will keep working on it until it's somewhat doable for me, thank you for this!

I've made the claim that in a few years the jump rope will be a staple in every distance runners offseason program due to the elasticity benefits it provides...especially to people who never get it through training? What do you think?

Wow this is really good! I've seen plenty of so called "sports trainer" doing workouts and their selected exercises don't really add up like this does.

Good stuff, man. Check this out: The only real, TRUE, "plyometric" exercises are the depth drop/jump variants. Everything else is simply "jump training" or "bounce" training. The west has bastardized the term, as is usually done with everything we steal and cultivated the misconception that the simple act of jumping and/or bouncing around is "plyometric." It DOES work on one's ability to be more reactive off the ground, but the real "magic" comes in training/teaching the body to "accept" massive forces (dropping) with the shortest coupling time (absorption/reaction) possible.
In order to get fast(er) the athlete must figure out what part of his "chain" is weak/broken. Just jumping onto a box or doing jump rope isn't going to fix anything. It helps, A LOT, no doubt. But if an athlete can't step off a 6" box and land in an athletic "ready" position without caving in, wobbling, or sinking their butt, having them jump ONTO that box, or anything higher would be counter productive to building speed. A better, smarter, SAFER option would be to have them simply incorporate stepping off a 6-12" box and landing in squat position. If you watch them from the side, you'll see them sink upon landing then catch themselves at the bottom. As they progress, you'll see them "stiffen up" a bit as the stretch reflex begins to improve. Finally, you'll see only a sharp "dip" and they'll have to restrain themselves from launching. At that point, you'll see a marked difference in their speed, having never even run them.
If you can figure out what part of the sprinter is weak, it's relatively easy to make drastic improvement, simply by understanding how to train the "nervous system" quality rather than the physical trait or muscular system.
You're on the right track. No pun intended. If you're about learning how to improve your training game, check out Yuri Verkhoshanky's work. He's the nerve center of training programs that get phenomenal results.

so, to increase the speed is rilevant to perform such training...well if it should be a competition among frogs, perhaps...but until sprint will be on a horizontal direction and straight, the best training would be based on emulation..and I do not see any emulation...I see only breathing attempts to compell how to better the speed.. ...anyhow such plyometrics simply try to reproduce the impact force trasmitted thru the feet on the ground during the run..first,is not the same impact force ,since during the acceleration the weight force increase progressively and is higher than such single exercise..second, the reaction or ,better, the controreaction, at the moment of landing, is not expressely directed to throw forward one leg and it does not ,so, produce any speed..

Nice video and all good advice. But many of the drills shown are not truly plyometric. By definition plyometric involves 1) eccentric contraction, 2) a very short amortization phase, 3) concentric contraction. Many of the exercises shown do not have an eccentric phase at the beginning. And in some the “amortization phase” is way too long. If one lands and then you “take your time” to rebound (ie long amortization phase) then you lose the muscle spindles reflex (myotatic reflex), which is the primary physiological response that is elicited when doing true plyometric exercises. The video is more accurately described as a combination of plyometric and non-plyometric (or plyometric-like) exercises for sprinting.
