one of the best cars ever made. It is definitely super cool with its rarity and obscurity, and you have to know what it is. My dad has owned one since 1998 and I have driven it, I think it is one of the best M cars. The interior is definitely the best BMW have produced. And a black one looks like a batmobile. I love the way it looks with those wide arches and beautiful curves, you never see a car like it. Cars nowadays are too angular.
I have a 98 M with the north American s52 (240hp). (We didn’t get the 321hp S54 until 2001-2002. ). Very happy with the car, planning to keep it forever. They are disappearing from the roads in my area, I think guys are driving them less to maintain value. The popped welds in the trunk worry people, but if caught in time is can be fixed up for $4-$6k…it will increase the value, so get it done.
@@ghrant123 Hey bud, yeah definitely, you never see them here either, the car in the video had that done last year! Good to know you'll be using yours:)
I have a 98 M that just flipped 100k. I picked it up for $10k in 2020 and put about $3.5k into it (luckily I can do my own repairs to keep cost down) to correct cooling system issues, Bilsteins, tranny detent repair with new clutch and shifter rebuild, brakes and new leather seats covers. Putting another $4k-$6k puts my cost well above the value at this point. (thank god for my free oil changes through FCP:)) My wife and I don't beat on it and it only sees about 1500 miles a year so I think the spot welds will stay as is, at least for now. One cracked weld at 100k which I drilled out and riveted should last me a while. As a side bar, who does this repair? I'm in the Northeast.
Here's a video I made of my 2000 M roadster: ruclips.net/video/5mEV9qzou2M/видео.html For the record, all Z3s and M roadsters were built in BMW's plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA. The exception was the M roadster, which had its engines built in Germany, then shipped to South Carolina for inclusion in the assembly plant. Nice to see the Z3 and M roadsters getting some attention. Thanks for the video.

Hey @philipraphael5188, thanks for the knowledge, really interesting, never knew that!
Beat me to the comment 😂. He made a good review though
Funny thing is I’m pretty sure all z3s and I think the m’s were all made in America 😅
