I will never ever be able to do this but the explanation brings me joy in seeing how a skilled magician works. I still will ever be fooled even when I know how it is done.
Absolutely PERFECT - not too much, not too fast - JUST RIGHT. Hey, you're like the Goldilocks of magic instructors! Only your demeanor and your words make you so much more than an instructor. THANK YOU, Doug! -Dave in Minnesota
Thank you so much. Been practicing magic for years and have to say your tutorials are some of the best and easy to follow that I've come across. Also, I highly appreciate your book recommendations.
I couldn’t love this video any more. I’ve spent years studying card magic but have been wary of cups / balls / rope tricks. I was able to perform this after a days practice for friends and get a great response. Perfectly taught, just what I needed.
Amazing! I've been a magician for more than 25 years and was never very interested in the cups and balls routine. But this week I finally bought a set and this was an awesome lesson! Thanks❤
I bought a set of cups from you several years ago and got through two sequences, then fell out for some reason, resting on my one cup routine. No chop, but chops... Sort of ironic that it was you who made me pick up the other two again today...could be magic.
I saw this trick being performed by Paul Gerther ( I think that is his name) on Penn and Teller fool us. I decided to try and learn it then I discovered the chop cup. I have added D 20 dice to my routine.
If I perform I tell people I am not a magician but a person of science. I also like incorporating comedy. I have focused more on the chop cup. Been a while since I have practice the cups and balls. The D20 dice is one used by players of Dungeons and Dragons a fantasy role playing game.
Concerning this trick (I understand it's an older video, but I wanted my question to be organized to the proper subject) I have the aluminum cups and red balls. I've noticed the inside of my cups have a glare, showing red and could indicate a ball being inside when mouth up. I am considering painting them with a copper color metal paint both inside and out. Would this be a good idea? Considering that copper doesn't show red. Or should I paint the inside black, or maybe just use white balls? I'm tossing these ideas around in my head to get over this show/give. And maybe a more seasoned practitioner could lend some advice. Thanks in advance. 😊

Great lesson for this classic trick. I first learned this from Mark Wilson's magic book and I found a few other booklets on the cups and balls.

How are the d20s? I feel like they would clank around in the cups more than the regular balls
@@GoodSoup240 they do clank. But a gigantic one not a lot. They do work ok.
@@pjgonzalez40 sadly my giant d 20 is too big for my cups. That was the first thing I checked after I saw your original comment
I just bought the invisible deck can’t wait
Oh sweet!
