- I used to perform this when I first started magic over 30 years ago. Over time it has dropped out of my working material because it's not really practical in a walkaround situation.
Being in Lockdown has givne me the opportunity to revisit some old favourites.

This guy didn't explain the three shell game at all. Before this video I sort of knew how it was done, now I'm convinced I know nothing at all. He just confused me even more 🧠🧨

Hi. Well, I just wnated everybody to learn the main message. The guys who take your money for doing this are CHEATING. Never bet against them as they can always manipulate the outcome to suit them.
Magnets and multiple dice or the boxes are manipulated in a way where you can squeeze the box and it will hold the dice in the box when you pick it up... can be done multiple different ways

I thought “I know monte scam basics, I can probably follow a move or two” and then he started stacking those boxes. He stopped cheating and did actual sorcery.

Take a close look in the way he grabs the boxes.. thats the trick.. all the dices were inside the boxes at all times.. its just the way he grabs them.. look closely that the boxes “empty insides” were never shown since the beginning.. anyway great trick very well done.. i had fun

This was one of the first “real” magic tricks that I was fortunate enough to have taught to me. Slight variation but basically the same without the green dice. Performed flawlessly.

That's not fair. The title is ... EXPLAINED ... and there's no explanation..... But i'll try, I think, I guess .... The boxes are exactly the width of two dice. That's my first guess. so when the box is raised (or moved), pressing a little on the box, it is raised with the inside two ( or 4 ) dices. My second guess is that on a corner, the boxes has a some dice glued inside ( as I look at the boxes, might be in the right-down corner) . So when the boxes are raised, pressing the boxes, are raised with the inside dices. At 3:39, the boxes are moved to left - as I look at - so one of the two colored dice are moved to the right-up corner - next to the glued one. ... Did I guessed ?
No, it’s not fair because I don’t explain. It was a scam about a scam😂
One thing to watch is that the die and the box appear to be about the same height, but the die side that is up when next shown after the move has changed value. The die cannot roll to a new number, so there is more then one die in the boxes when the 'trick' was started.

Sorry!! It was a scam about a scam. But the message remains: never become involved in this on the street. It's fixed and you cannot win.

I mean... as long as the dice is in the game its technically still not a scam though right? even with slight of hand if you know that... you could still win as long as hes not outright taking the dice out of the game right?
I looked at this clip hard and long. I figured whenever he grabs the box around the middle, the dice does not appear. When he shows the dice he tilt open by grabbing the end.
i might be a bit slow here but simply "how??"

I've figured it out. Yall play like its "magic" to trick us but no of course not because magic isn't real and it's all slight of hand and misdirection, right? But that part actual bluff. Because that is actually some kind of real magic ability. Like some real mystical power played off as slight of hand. That is amazing work sir.

Yiou did the right thing., The games are scams. You can't win. If you DO see somebody win, it;s probably one of the team being allowed to win to encourage bystanders to bet.
You can do a wingardium leviosa followed by a flipendo and you'll be able to trick the con man and win the game.

There are magnets inside these boxes and there are more than one dice..This is the trick..he does not show you what is inside

Pay very close attention to the way he holds on the sides of the boxes and precisely what parts of the box...thats the trick...all the dices were inside the boxes at all times...the whole trick lies in the way he holds the boxes in the right areas. Very well performed, I was tricked when I watched the video the first time
question tho, if all dice were inside the box, they will make alot of noises when they were moved around the table...wouldnt spectator notice it?

When are people going to learn that it's a total con? Surely walking along a street, or usually over a bridge, and seeing some pretty dodgy looking people hanging around an apparently innocent looking shell game tells you all you need to know. Why aren't the police arresting anybody playing the shell game on the streets and their viscious accomplices?

These are not real match boxes, they must have cells inside and depending on were you press you release the dices inside, he does it flawless. I agree that the title is wrong, but paradoxically it cheated us in the same way that he is trying to explain in the video: avoid these kind of games or you'll be cheated, he is just reinforcing the message. 😄
Thanks. Your conclusion is exactly right. I was just trying to explain that no matter how right you are about where the dice was put they can automate it to make you wrong. That was part of my day on the title but to be honest, I suppose it was a bit of Clickbait too.

Well, I would begin by a) visiting a magic shop, if there is one near you, and discussing this with the dealer or b) If there isn't a dealer near you go to one of the online magic shops and explore pea under the shell 'games' to begin with.
I already have that mastered its what your doing in your video with all the extra dice that is the conundrum.

This is one of the easiest games to win at, so much so that you can win every time, guaranteed. I know the method that works every time. Follow it and you can never loose. It's so easy to do that even a man with no money can win at it. Remember now, that if you have no money you can't play, but even if the one running the game lets you, you still could not loose, as long as you make no promises.

I've seen some very good videos about the three card monte (etc..) scam and just enjoyed the magic, without the "explanation". With all magic, I don't want to know how it's done, unless I can see it for myself - which is very rare.
YT suggested this to me, and I cracked - I'm going to finally see how three card monte is done!
Only the YT video position told me that I was running out of time for the "explanation" - but I kept hoping. Maybe it could be done in 2 seconds! LOL!

Baffled beyond belief
The scammer had to pay up for my 3 wins, scammer lose his money and I like these types of games because I always win, even if the scammer thinks I lost, I made the scammer a deal if I found the ball 3 times he'll pay all of his money, he lose
I was 19 and in NYC with a couple of college friends. There was a guy doing it. So I told them wait up cause I wanted to do this. One tells me it's a scam but I didn't listen and of course I already knew it. After a short while I says to him let me try and fool you by allowing me to do it. I was purposely being bad until the 5th attempt I told him I needed to get going. I was doubling down on each one. We were in the subway and as the train drops I fumbled purposely when I stuck a quarter under the right box and stumbled with the left which I stuck another quarter. He picked the left first and got it wrong. Then I says to him if you find it I'll give you what's left in my pocket vs to what you already owe me. He took the bet and picked the right one and saw the other quarter. He was pissed and says it's not even on the table. I lifted up my hands showing palms at all times and tells him to lift up the last one. He did and you should see the expression on his face. I says now gimme my money. He pulls out a toothpick of a knife and I says there's three of us and by the time your bodyguard shows up you'll be out cold. Easiest 6.5k I ever made. We went to this Italian restaurant called Momma Leonie's and dropped 500 bucks. The three meals came to like 150 bucks and I loved the waitress so I dropped a 350 buck tip then we went back home.
