Nice job, Kay! I greatly enjoy this format. Re: sweater dress -I know you stated you were not a belt gal…. However, I would really have loved seeing various types of belts and ways to wear them demonstrated! I also would be interested in seeing what types of jackets/coats/blazers, etc.(other than just the jean jacket) one might choose if needed for warmth in winter, both to be kept on indoors as well as worn as outerwear, especially if styling the dress in a more dressy way.. say for a “dressier “Church, dressy date night, or perhaps even for a funeral. Please keep ALL the possible ways of styling each outfits you demonstrate in mind as you continue in this series! Love it!
I would like to see you do a "shop your own closet" video from fall clothes you have bought in previous years since you have a pretty extensive wardrobe. I don't think we have to buy a lot each season if we have made good choices in the past.
This is such a great idea and I love the options you provide here! I'm still not ready for wide leg trousers or jeans. Perhaps it's because I'm now 67, or perhaps it's because I'm only 5'3", but I'm just not ready for a wide leg. However, styling straight leg trousers or jeans would interest me! Thanks for asking.
Love this video. When you pulled out the denim jacket, I thought 'oh no' that can not work. Once I saw how you styled it, it turned out to be my favorite. Thanks for making us getting out of our boxes and try something new !!
Adore your new segment. Love also the process that you take true all the possibilities and options that you can find in your wardrobe. Of course you need a wardrobe well done like yours. It is very inspiring. Thank you for all the work and the hart that you put in.
Loved this video Kay. Another great one. I'd love to see you style cardigans - there are SO many options this year! Maybe show us how to take them up a notch with accessories - scarves and/or jewelry??? Thanks for your inspiration always!
Thanks for a great video of the process of making a great outfit. I think that when you had the tall boots in that instead of a jacket, a long scarf that hangs to about hip length would also be a nice option and not quite as warm. I was feeling a little like that jacket would be too hot for me. 😅
This was great! The items you chose not to wear were just as helpful, and I enjoyed how you gave possible scenarios as to when and where you might wear the different options. My days are generally very casual so I would love to see you continue to style anything for at home, errands, casual lunches, etc. Thanks for what you do!
I like this format so much. I find it helpful. It was good to see how this dress changed with the accessories. I did see at least 3 options I would do. Gives you ideas on maximizing a piece in your wardrobe.
I really enjoy your videos. I especially like how you explain your mthinking when you were styling your outfits. The way you worked through styling the dress was really informative. You gave great ideas on how to style it different ways, and that’s exactly the kind of thinking that I need terrific job.
Knit dresses are my daily wear at home, and for autumn/winter, I just add boots, a blazer or coat, and maybe a belt, to go out. I won’t wear shapewear, though, especially not at home - I refuse to suffer so much just to look a tiny bit smoother. It is hard to find sweater dresses that don’t have synthetic fibers in them, but I’ve gradually found a few cashmere or wool ones. Most have high necks, but I love a modest V-neck, as in the one you model here, it’s great-looking. Thanks, Kay🙂
This was wonderful!! Thank you. When you first did the booties , I was "WHAT?? nono...BUT then you explained about pulling up the sleeves OMW what a difference! That was it, even though I don not really like the little booties, BUT yes this time, and the tall boots, great. But for a shopping day you nailed it with the "tennis shoes". It helps so much to go along with your "getting dressed mind." Have a great day.
Hahaha! Well we’re not all going to care for exactly the same things. Fashion really is a personal expression. But I’m so glad you enjoyed the process and found it helpful. Thanks for letting me know. 😊
You're good! I'm so glad you styled this item. I have several sweater dresses a barely wear, but didn't want to part with them because they are flattering and comfy. I will put together some outfits and share on FB.
I like this format! I like the wide-leg jeans idea. Also, could you pull in someone shorter? That way you could style yourself and then re-work it for a petite woman. Just an idea. Thanks so much for all you offer!
This is fabulous! Thanks for walking us through your decision-making process. Even if I decide a sweater dress isn’t for me, you taught me some principles that apply to other types of clothing. I’d love to see the wide leg jeans and always love tips on accessorizing an outfit or various completer piece combinations. Thank you so much! ❤
I always use a full length mirror to look at my entire outfit, front and back. One trick I learned is that while standing in front of the mirror, I close my eyes and clear my mind, then I open them to get a first impression look. Anything that doesn’t look like what I’m going for goes! I love your new idea. I would like to see you do one of these on styling wide leg jeans/pants, and straight leg jeans/pants. Emphasizing how to pair the top and the bottom for the right proportions would be good.
I love watching your process of putting an outfit together. A great lesson on what to think about as I try to pull my outfit together from jewelry, to shoes to jacket and handbag! Have a wonderful day.
I loved watching you put your outfit together. In my dream world, you would occasionally invite a friend with a different body shape, and show how to achieve similar success, say with jeans, with two different body types❤
I LOVE this format! So many times you show these amazing outfits and I still struggle to put it all together. It's great to see the "process" and hear you talk through it. Please do more like this!
I want to tell you the most important thing I have learned from your videos and posts is to limit my colors. Keeping a few neutrals (black, stone/mushroom) and navy) and buying clothing that stays within a limited flattering choice of 4 or five colors has made putting together outfits so much easier. Why didn’t I learn this at 20 instead of 78? Buying the adorable blouse that goes with nothing in my closet was useless!
LOVE this format. I particularly liked the last two outfits (the tall boots and the sneakers). I too dislike belts, especially the skinny ones that I am seeing so often these days. The neckline/collar as well as the color of the dress (and the tall boots)--yummy!
I’m a healthy 73 petite woman in good shape. I would love to wear dresses, but when nylon stockings went out of style I was forced to change to pants just to stay warm during the cold fall and winter months in Michigan. I would like you to cover how to wear tights and what shoes to wear with them? Should they match your shoes or dress? What about colors? Are they suitable for seniors? What about pantyhose? What to do to keep warm when required to dress up for a winter wedding or holiday party?
This is a great help. Your ideas are thought provoking and they help me see what I have and how to wear them in a new and different way. Thank you Kay.
Jean jackets seem to look great with almost everything! Thanks for making this video. It helps me understand why some of my outfits kind of miss the mark even though I have incorporated good pieces. I especially like your tall boots and brown heels.
Kay, in all honesty and firstly, I so appreciate the work and care you put into your videos because they really are wonderful! I actually think that on almost everybody …and other major fashion designers and stylists will say this too… that short boots cut you up so badly when you wear them with a dress, you really should have only about an inch total between a boot and whatever you’re wearing on the bottom… I think they really can cut you off. I think a tall boot, pump or a flat or anything else doesn’t cut you off, even if it’s nude, will look so much better… Now I realize we all see things differently. But I actually think it’s not as flattering on almost everybody! But then again, we have to do what we think looks great on us! Blessings and love!
I love the sweater dress with the boots and denim jacket. I even like the Tennis shoes with denim jacket, though i wanted to hate it. I was thinking a Coatigan sweater with the boots when it gets colder. Liked this format.
Thanks Kay, this is a great video! I have been retired about a year and do spend time at home. I'm finding I still want to look nice and put the same thought into putting together looks for working out and lounging. Appreciate all you are doing!
Hello Kay, I really find it helpful when you discuss contrast and intensity and it always remind me why some combinations of colors always look more right to me than others. I have red hair, brown eyes, and pale freckled skin. I usually feel more right with medium to low contrast.
Loved this Kay! And the first thing I thought of when I saw the sweater dress was - oh no - I would need shapewear with that - and you talked about it right away! I would love to see more like this - wide leg jeans would be great - and please talk about how you make it not frumpy for us - because in older women it can lean that way. Thanks again!
Yay! With four sweater dresses in my closet - so warm and cozy - great suggestions to vary the look of each one. I have several scarves I plan to use to brighten the rainy winter gloom.
I loved this new format! After seeing your OnCloud sneakers in previous videos I ordered the exact same pair and love them!! They are the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned. I also bought the waterproof version in black to wear during late fall and winter .😊
I love the ankle boots and the brown block-heel pumps with that dress, maybe because they both have the heel height I prefer, about two inches. I love ankle boots with dresses and matching tights - they give more presence and balance to my too-skinny legs and too-small feet. Of course, knee-high boots are perfect, too. I choose based on the weather, mostly, but really love the added height from a medium block heel - I’m on the short side.
Low contrast in my face and hair. That's me exactly! I am glad you were pointing out what that means for combining colours! Thank you for your good explanation. I feel that finally I really understood what to do about colours.
Cheers to you! I couldn’t change my shoes without falling over. I have been thinking about getting a sweater dress. But I haven’t gotten one yet. I know it wouldn’t be a turtleneck. I can’t take them. Now I know there are so many different types. I can’t wear brown. It’s just not a good color on me. I think it’s my hair. I used to be able to wear it. And I already own some Spanx. Because I have lots of lumps and bumps. But not when I put them on.
I loved this format! More please 😊. I personally would love for you to style winter boots that I can wear to the office while trudging through snow and slick sidewalks. I live in Montana a half mile from my office. I am a manager and need to look professional, but keep my feet dry and cozy. Thanks, Kay!
Hi Kay, bravo! This was one of the best videos ever and I look forward to more of this series. I especially likes observing my own thoughts on how you looked as your outfit evolved. It was quite interesting also to see how youthful your look became when you added the denim jacket! Good to remember. Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you Kay I love this Format and it’s so truthful as to how you put together an outfit or more . Loved it❤ thought it was just me with a pile of clothes/shoes/bags and jewellery sitting there while I try on . Now I’m taking your advice if I immediately love a look I know it’s ‘Me’ , if i’m not too sure I ask my husband who not only has a good eye but he is super honest then I get him to take a photo of me wearing said outfit so I can see the whole effect , I then place the clothes flat on my bed together as the outfit plus the accessories and take a photo for future reference . Maybe I should get a mannequin to try them on 🤔Xx
Extremely useful and intelligent video! I loved the thought process and the intended vibe behind everything! V neck, pushing up the sleeves and showing a little skin certainly makes one look approachable and not closed off! Such an important concept. I would add a brooch to break up the monotony of the sweater dress. The denim jacket makes for a casual vibe while perhaps a leather type jacket would ratch it up a notch. Yes earrings would soften the overall look
Loved watching your process and thinking through your choices to style the sweater dress. I love them but have been avoiding the idea of styling one. Now I feel more confident in doing that. Thanks you.😊
Thanks so much, Kay! It’s great to know that I’m not the only one who tries different combinations before making a final decision on my outfits. This often happens Sunday mornings. When I come home from church I have to put away the pile of rejects on my bed.😂
Hahaha! Oh my. Well I actually do try to do this little process as soon as I buy something and bring it into my wardrobe. That way I know how to work it when I’m ready to wear it. 😉
This was very helpful. You gave a name to some descriptors my Mom gave me years ago as to color intensity and how much skin to show. Thanks for the validation
Thank you so much for this video. I’m wearing a sweater dress this weekend and plan on black boots. Unfortunately they are falling apart so I’m going to try my cute short booties after watching this video. Great information. Thank you.
I love the new "get Ready with Me segment. I am changing over my closet from high summer to transitional dressing this weekend. My plan is to really shop my closet this year; however, I made a list of things I needed last spring before I put my fall/winter closet away. I have purchased a pair of black riding boots, a black lady jacket and an oatmeal cotton turtleneck. My question is: why are we not wearing stocking anymore. I love the look they give my legs and it looks classier to me, I'm not 20 anymore and I have nice legs, but nit flawless ones any longer. I also think it cheapens a nice dress. So could you explain.
I love this format! It's great to see that others go through the same process of trying different shoes, toppers, jewelry and then, yes we have to put all that stuff away. I'd love to see this done with straight legged corduroy pants. That's what I wear most when it gets cold up here, with a warm underlayer . Blessings on you Kay. I really am experiencing so much joy right now and love seeing it in you. We're here to spread it around. ❤
❤ Learning about your thinking process when putting together an outfit. I have learned so much from you when styling my clothes. My favorite new to me tip is the idea of intensity. I am also a low intensity person and am now very conscious about putting clothes together that are low intensity. Thank you, Kay!
Thank you SOmuch for doing this video! It made a lot of sense. I do the same with my outfits before I walk out the door. I never thought of wearing a sweater dress with a Jean jacket and sneakers. Love, love, love it.❤️
What a great idea! I'm not the only person who tries on and discards 17 things before getting ready for a day out and about. Thank you, Kay. Would love this as a regular feature.
Yeah, I really try to do this sort of thing as soon as I bring something into my closet. That way I’m not doing this as I’m getting dressed for my day. 😉 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video.
Loved this video and can’t wait for more like it. Glad to know that I’m not the only one who goes thru the “process.” That’s the fun of it. Really liked your final outfit and the tall boots too. Very impressed with your changing shoes and not losing your balance. Enjoy your outfit
Just purchased wide leg jeans that need to be hemmed. What length would you recommend, in order to pair nicely with shoes of different height? Would enjoy seeing you style wide leg jeans. Thanks!
I really enjoyed this format with your thought process. I have a midi length denim skirt as well as some wide legged jeans and would love to see more outfits with them. I live in Florida so super warm layers not needed. Love your posts and videos!!
I really enjoyed today's video and would love for you to do more of the "Get Ready With Me" styling. It's helpful to see the process of choosing accessories to take an outfit from ok to perfect! I also enjoyed the post on high/low outfit options. It's nice to see less expensive pieces to get the same great outfit.
Great video! Love the sweater dress on you. Would LOVE to see more style with me videos with denim skirts for those of us that don’t wear pants/jeans so much and still want to look casual.
Thank you so much for explaining the reasoning behind your outfits! I usually keep trying things on, therefore, taking too much time trying to figure out what looks balanced! Now, I have some rules to help guide me & I love it! If you happen to see this comment, I love this video! I love how you explain things. I would also have liked to see the dress belted & with the lighter jacket, even if you decided not to wear it, just to get a visual! By the way, I really liked the brown pumps for whatever reason! 💖
Yes! I like the new format. I am looking for a sweater dress and yours was lovely. I found a beautiful dark brown corduroy knee length skirt at J.Jill. (maybe it was a chestnut brown?) I was surprised how a dark brown looks good on me. (I'm fair with med. brown hair). Then when you put the brown pumps on with your dress, Wow, was my reaction, a great look on you.
Kay, I’m so happy you did this video. I love the idea of “get ready with me” I’ve been looking at the same sweater dress from Talbots and Loft had one almost identical, just different fabric. Your video was very helpful. Thank you!
Love it!
I’d love to see you style some straight leg jeans. Thanks!
I would like to see you do a "shop your own closet" video from fall clothes you have bought in previous years since you have a pretty extensive wardrobe. I don't think we have to buy a lot each season if we have made good choices in the past.
Thanks for sharing, Sharon. I completely agree. I’ll see what I can do. 😊
So, you just go around posting this same message on everyone's channel. Do you work for the U-N?
I would like to see how you would style a shirt dress. Love all your videos and I have learned so much!
Thank you - great idea for a video series. I would like ideas for styling a long duster cardigan.
Great idea!
I'd like to see a video on how to determine proper fit of garments.
Love this video. When you pulled out the denim jacket, I thought 'oh no' that can not work. Once I saw how you styled it, it turned out to be my favorite. Thanks for making us getting out of our boxes and try something new !!
Love the “get ready with me” format! And yes, please do wide leg jeans in this format. And “fit and flare” dresses.
Wonderful. Thanks for the suggestions. 😊
Adore your new segment. Love also the process that you take true all the possibilities and options that you can find in your wardrobe. Of course you need a wardrobe well done like yours. It is very inspiring. Thank you for all the work and the hart that you put in.

Kay I didn't like the brown sweater dress at first but you really took it a notch when you put the jewelry and the jacket! Loved it!
Love the 'get ready with me" format. I need to learn how to think about my clothing. Thank you.
You're good! I'm so glad you styled this item. I have several sweater dresses a barely wear, but didn't want to part with them because they are flattering and comfy. I will put together some outfits and share on FB.

🙌🏻 Yay! Thanks so much for watching.
I enjoyed this, too. I just don't have the vast selection of shoes that she has.😅
Enjoyed this format and would like to see one on styling a black dress for different events. Thank you.
Thanks so much. I actually did one with a black dress - slightly different format - but it’s at least a couple years old now.
I loved watching you put your outfit together. In my dream world, you would occasionally invite a friend with a different body shape, and show how to achieve similar success, say with jeans, with two different body types❤
Yes, a friend who is 5'5" or something ❤
Love this and now I have some thoughts for a sweater dress I have in my closet that I have never worn!
I LOVE this format! So many times you show these amazing outfits and I still struggle to put it all together. It's great to see the "process" and hear you talk through it. Please do more like this!
Wonderful. I absolutely will. 🙌🏻
Very interesting to learn how our clothing choice can make us approachable or not! Thank you!

I love the format, so playful and fun. I would never have chosen sneakers but it looks amazing. Wonderful video.
Thank you!😊
Really enjoyed this process! Great video!
This is a great help. Your ideas are thought provoking and they help me see what I have and how to wear them in a new and different way. Thank you Kay.
Love this new series. Keeo it going please. How about a long tiered flared skirt or zippered cardigan for your series?
Jean jackets seem to look great with almost everything! Thanks for making this video. It helps me understand why some of my outfits kind of miss the mark even though I have incorporated good pieces. I especially like your tall boots and brown heels.

I love the short suede boots with this dress! Thank you for explaining contrast and intensity and how that works when putting an outfit together.
You bet. I’m glad that was so helpful. It’s made a big difference for me to understand and actually use that one concept. 😊
Low contrast in my face and hair. That's me exactly! I am glad you were pointing out what that means for combining colours! Thank you for your good explanation. I feel that finally I really understood what to do about colours.

Great to hear. Thanks so much for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 💕
enjoyed this! yes please do one with wide leg jeans. Also, your makeup looks great! Which lip product(s) are you wearing?

Oh I have a pair of snake print heels that would look good with the sweater dress. I think a leopard print should would look even better!!

Loved this new video. It reassured me that it takes time to coordinate (for us all). Nice to watch you do it. Kudos for this fresh, new video.
Loved the session (Sweater dress)on watching you put an outfit together.
Love it. Great mix of ideas. Please show us some more
techniques as they are modern and fresh. Thank you.
Hi Kay. Love the dress with me. And yes I would like to see a wide leg jeans style ideas. Thank you.
Like the new format! Maybe a black over-sized jacket pairing with outfits?
Excellent Kaye whether we know it or not we are creating an image of ourselves everyday and our judged accordingly.
Your a sweetheart. Love this genre. You may have said in a past video but for reference how tall are you & approx size in clothing .
5'8" (she said), and wears 8s or 10s
Loved this video and can’t wait for more like it. Glad to know that I’m not the only one who goes thru the “process.” That’s the fun of it. Really liked your final outfit and the tall boots too. Very impressed with your changing shoes and not losing your balance. Enjoy your outfit
Thanks so much. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Would love to see outfits for a wedding. Liked this video very much.
Great idea. Thanks for sharing. 💕
❤💚💙 thank you so much for new video always waiting for it unfortunate in israel no everything possible to wear beccause of weather and other thinks
Great to hear. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas. 🥰
Yes, denim skirts are so on trend.
Love learning about the process! Would be really interested on what shoes go with different jeans. Love your videos!
Very helpful, I would like to see denim maxi skirt version
Hmm. I’ll have to work on that. I don’t have one, but I might check them out. Thanks for watching and sharing. 😊
Thank you for the tips. I wish I had your figure. I'm short with an apple shape so I struggle to look good in anything I wear.
Love this series Kay! Would love to see how you style a sweater vest. I just ordered one from Talbots.😊
Love this series and your thought process behind it is helpful.
What a great idea. Thanks for offering this.
Kay, I’m so happy you did this video. I love the idea of “get ready with me” I’ve been looking at the same sweater dress from Talbots and Loft had one almost identical, just different fabric. Your video was very helpful. Thank you!
Great to hear. Thanks so much for letting me know. 🙌🏻
Kay, this lipstick just brings light and glow to your face. Just fabulous! ❤
Thanks!😊
Loved the brown pleated skirt on you and your new haircut!
Great tips Kay!!!! Thank you for sharing them with us❤️
This was so helpful! Elongating my legs was an eye opener for me! Looking forward to learning so much more!
This was a fun video to watch and I hope you do the same style video again.
GREAT video Kay! Love to see your process in picking the dress down to the shoes and jewelry!! This is a great format!
Thank you!😊
This was really helpful. I would like to see some styling with pants in neutral colors other than jeans.
Booties give a horizontal line which shortens your legs. The high boots, or the tortoise shell heels look the best!
Great video, thank you :)
That was a brilliant video, Kay! Have just bought a sweater dress and wasn't sure what to wear with it. Feel so much more confident now! Thank you! X
Yes love with boots and sneakers. I think I can belt a dress. Not sure how that brown would work for me.
