Very sad... I've only been in the area for the past few years and Horsham is lucky to have the Capitol still which is a wonderful little theatre/cinema.. it has so much character. There is also the new Everyman that appeared a couple of years ago which has the younger crowd go with its sofa seats and bar service. But it doesnt have the character. It was lovely to find out about this other one that was long before I came to the area.
Winning a competition to destroy a cinema, that's terrible... if she had not released that wrecking ball, would the cinema still be there?. answers on a post card !
wow beautiful building, thanks for sharing..
No worries!

In 1939 the projectionist was Fred Short (seen on the roof in the picture at around 3.13 in the video with G Jelly, assistant manager on the ground!)
I guess Fred must be a candidate for the photo at 4:45 too.
Thanks for adding those names I really appreciate it.

i thought that David, what an awful prize!
No my fiend it would still be gone!
@@hollywoodcinemasmemories8555 I wondered whether to include it in the video - I thought it was a hideous prize to offer.
What a terrible waste of a fine building. Now that it`s gone I bet a use could found for it.
Nothing short of an absolute waste of a great building.
