Man these guys are amazing. It sucks though because you're never gonna get that good at pitch changes unless you have a nice quality set of Timpani with accurate gauges. 😭😭
Not necessarily. As long as the tension system is taken care of and the heads are in decent condition, any set of timpani can sound great. Obviously the more money you spend the better but that’s how it is with everything.
Adam - Future video idea: What about a Master Class on marking up a marimba solo piece? I know different studios have different styles, and it is always good to see different perspectives. What would be awesome is to see how you mark up a section of the piece, describing how and why, then let us see you play that piece, executing what you had marked up. I think this would challenge us to take our reading/prep/playing to a higher level.

Thanks for sharing! I play timpani myself! This is impressive!
Probably wasn’t Mozart 40 😂 if so, you deserved the roasting! There’s no timp part 😉
Fun fact: Gabe is a Cave guide now. He was my private lesson teacher going into highschool. Cracked at timpani
I LOVE THIS
6:18 nooooooooo not the legends truck driving by 😥😥😥😥
Please check out Pining for the Spring breeze arranged by Robert Oetomo, it’s the most beautiful thing I think I’ve ever heard in my entire life
I am my schools primary timpanist and I’ve been idolizing that Bluecoats video since it came out.
Gabe stayed at my place for the 2015 season. What a great guy.
yay, first Let's Watch of 2023. i think i'll have to hear timpani IRL to really appreciate it
Love this content! Uhm but don’t lift in crocks 😅
Awesome content as always! 😊 cool to see some timpani on the channel!

ALSO - This Timpani work is AMAZING! (didn't mean to skip the deserved recognition!)
As a 15 yr old timpani expert my self I’m like this is awesome.
