I love the video. I've been talking to a buddy of mine who wants to upgrade his v6 mustang to a 5.0 mustang. I told him that I want to upgrade from my challenger to the a c7. This video made me love the c7 even more. Soon enough I will own one of these no matter the year model, just as long as its a c7

The hatch closes easy if the windows are cracked a little bit it’s the air compression in the car that prevents the hatch from closing easily

Yep, Super-easy even. You don't drop it extra easy then it feels like you're abusing the car. I just close the driver's door last. There's also a device you can get that lets you put windows up & down w/the key fob, it's pretty nice.
Hatch should have auto close so yours might be broken.
So it seems Vettes are relatively reliable. Really seems like overall cons are either the obvious of practicality, gas, and maybe insurance. Seems pretty hard to beat.. great vid man, thank you. Definitely on my list.

Have you had any problems with the transmission? I understand that these cars are known to have those problems. Either needing a flush or a torque converter replacement.

@cheechfive7fiveyt995 I had the skepticism....but I ended up buying my vette anyways! And couldn't be happier bro! I do suggest buying the AFM disabler from Holly. It's made a huge difference.

I definitely want to get one of these! The C7 design is just my favorite especially in the red! I had a 17 Mustang GT Premium in grabber blue it treated me well, but the rising gas prices were killing me since it was my daily (lol). Hopefully in a year or two once everything settles down I’ll get me one for sure!

Own a 2017 Z51 (Corvette racing yellow). First mod after buying car new was to swap out Brembro metallic brake pads for ceramic coated ones. Very easy and minimal cost fix. Have never had a brake dust issue. Next, later year models do have automatic closing rear hatch. BTW, C7 Corvettes don't have trunks----only hatch space. ::)

Thanks for the great video! Beautiful car! I just bought one and love it! A 2014 Stingray C7 Z51 3LT in Velocity yellow, (It was a hard decision between the red you have or the velocity yellow because I like them equally). It was a garage Queen owned by a 75 year old man that only put 13000 miles on it and not one blamish anywhere so I'm very pleased. It's funny because I've only had it for a week and I've only experienced one thing negative and it was the whole trunk issue that you were talking about in your video! I arrived at work and people were looking at it and I noticed that the trunk lid was a jar because I was into it earlier that day, so I went to push it down hard and set off the alarm in front of everybody so that was kind of fun! Lol
Anyway, a great video and thank you for sharing that with me and I'm very pleased with my purchase!

Dude magnet laughing, I get a swarm of 4 bangers badged with stickers thinking they're fast ragged out in 3rd gear with punched out muffler. I drink my coffee and cruise on and gas economy mode mileage is great!

I like the red , mines silver and just base model 2lt . Not a lot of choices in 7 speed ,so I went with silver with black rims . Sickest car I’ve ever owned by far .

Get rid of the slotted rotors as well, holes in rotors add to the brake dust.
My dad's 50th Anniversary and my C5 Z06 did the same thing when closing the rear hatch lol

It's for the longtube headers, everyone who installs them on the C7 corvettes gets that check engine light, you have to take it to a tuner to get it to go away, nothing is wrong with the car, you don't believe me just look it up.
I plan to get me one soon for a daily driver. I love this car too.

Power Stop Carbon Ceramic Brake Pads are a easy fix to the brake dust, did that on mine last year. HUGE improvement

I would have like to see review on its performance and how fun it is to drive, how it handles corners and twisty roads. Those are important reason to go for vette. I mean a Honda civic is also very reliable.

Guys i daily drive a Honda civic 2020. I want to get a c7 as a fun car. The thing is how would it fair in nyc with potholes?

i have a 17 c7 grandsport and i loveeeeee it soo much. It really is a great car. I came from driving a 17 camaro v6 to a 17 mustang GT and then to my now c7 grandsport and wow its such a different experience i definetly reccomend this car!

What’s crazy is this car would get so much better mpg than my truck AND it’s cheaper than buying a newer truck
It doesn't get bad MPG at all, does depend on how heavy your foot is though!
I have a c7 z06 with carbon ceramic brakes. Just one day of driving I get brake dust on my rims and side skirts. So I don't know why everyone says carbon ceramic brakes eliminate brake dust. The only way I can eliminate it is by engine braking. 🤣 I have the original 10 spoke design rims which each spoke is divided in 2 pieces forming a V in black and it is a PAIN to clean these rims!!!

Great great sports car. Have you thought/done E85 conversion and tune - easy 25hp gains. With headers, intake, plenum, you're looking to 40-50 hp gains

I have the 2016 and the trunk pull down feature is great! When you pull the hatch down close to the deck- it pulls itself the rest of the way down tight. Great feature.
Bro! Looking at the video I believe you’re in SA. I live in SA we should go out and cruise one day. I just bought a 2017 Z51 metallic Grey with carbon top.. I had a 2016 Z51 a couple of years ago, I bought a F-Type and I didn’t feel the excitement as when I had my 2016 so I went back to owning a C7. What front splitter, side skirts and back wind do you have. I want that exactly that looks so bad ass!
I am in San Antonio! For sure man we can go cruising and I we can meet up with some of my friends for cars and coffee and meets and stuff they gave c7 vettes as well. It would be fun! The Rogue Vette, 1st video I've seen of yours, nice job, & well named channel, I think I get it. I wanted to ask you, have you considered roofbar blackout, in either flash or plain black? I have a '14 Torch auto, thus my name, it has carbon roof & therefore spears & I black outed the bar & I think it compliments the carbon roof perfectly. Have you seen one done this way & if so considered it yourself? It's easy on the wallet too. Anyway, beautiful car, best color, great shape. Save the wave.

i should be in the market this winter for a z51, currently have a gen coupe 3.8... im trying to get down pat on the differences between 2014/15 and 2016. I do know on 16 they started using the 8speed auto, and the trunk will sinch it down fully once closed.. Can you assist if you know these differences?
im also trying to fully understand the LZ package differences, did the magnetic ride option come standard on any of these?

You are correct about the 8 speed and trunk auto on the 2016. Magnetic ride came on the Z51 Performance Package cars. Congrats on the first home!

Lmao that was because I needed to get it tuned in order to get the light to go away, I had installed longtube headers and it triggers the CEL to come on.
Are those back vents functional on the z51

You said no issues, So why do you have a check engine light on after you started it ? In RI that is an issue..
It's for the headers install, it needs to be tuned so that the CEL gets tuned out and turned off.

Yes you can, but you can also get it deactivated with a tune as well, to run all 8 cylinders 24/7

Any problems with front bottoming out the c8 you can lift the front end with push of button
I've had no issues with hitting things or bottoming out, as long as your real careful going up steep inclines or seeing pot holes or curbs you should be fine, I am lowered on the stock bolts so it's not stock height but I've been pretty good and have had no issues. Being mindful and careful is key.
It does close on the later models. I have a 2019 and it closes automatically
I am 6’3” 250 and I seat fine in my 2019 GrandSport
I wish mined closed like yours, haha that's cool that you fit, guess my friends and family are just being babies about the space lol, they ain't used to it
I'm 6'2" and about 240 and I have to put all the adjustments to the max in a 17' Z06 to fit "comfortably", and yeah the deck closes auto on mine. I've noticed that the roofline makes me stop short at red lights so I can see it better. But we are talking supercar territory here, so you know. I know that when I get a clear stretch of road and I lay down the 750 plus that my car has...for those few moments, I am FREE!...worth every penny.

Looking to buy the same year! How much is the maintenance, oil changes etc… and anything I should look out for ? TIA
Oil changes if you don't do it yourself are about 150, if you do it yourself probably about 70ish. Gas for me right now with how terrible the economy is about 68 to fill up on empty. When I first got it back in 2021 before the gas went up I was filling up the car with 40 bucks. As far as maintenance, these cars take care of themselves, I've had no issues with mine and she runs Iike a top, you want to keep her clean but I have a garage so it's not sitting out in the elements. I had a question. When you use launch control do you keep your foot to the floor after you launch? Does it not loose traction? In track mode tc and stability control are turned off.
I have actually never tried that yet, tbh
I have a 2015 ZO6. When everything is all set up left foot on brake , right foot to the floor. Rpm will stabilize on its own around 2000rpm. Release brake and foot still to the floor. You’re off. Launching is a blast.

Sure, some people prefer the look of the c7 generation better, some want the newest, it all depends on what you like, and how much your wallet will allow you to buy, lol
I think it's a great thing being a Corvette enthusiast and having 13 of them in the past. I don't want anything to do with that mid engine Corvette. I do not want a Ferrari wanna be and I want to be able to have a lot of room to work on that engine up front. I bought my C7 just last week and prices are back up because people decided they want to buy them again.

Pretty good I think to me, lol
I took my 2015 Z51 7 speed manual on a 215 mile windy mountain road trip (~107-108 miles each way) I live at 2,500ft elevation first part of trip is to 5,000 ft then back home to 2,500 ft. I got 27.1 mpg on the uphill trip and 32.8 mpg on the downhill trip, pretty dang good 😃

Yo, I’m turning 18 next year and was in the market for trading my current v6 stang for a 5.0. I’ve recently stumbled upon the c7 corevettes which would be around the same price of the 5.0. Would this be a good decision to go with the c7?
I would say go for the corvette c7. If you ever want to sell it, they will hold their value better then a mustang. Your young you don't see many young guys driving vettes, mustangs are everywhere. Lol look cool haha. I've had two mustangs and changed to a vette, loved it ever since.

Thanks! I lowered it on the stock suspension bolts. Not too hard to do, it's easier to do with a lift though.

C7 all day man! I got mine at 22. Corvettes over any other muscle car.
@@TheRogueVette On paper and on every article I've read from like caranddriver, etc. and videos I've seen for tests, the C7 Stingray is faster than Mustangs, they have to get up to the GT350R before it's even close, GT500 beats C7 Stingray, but then of course the C7 Z06 smokes the GT500. Mustang ain't got nothin on Corvette in terms of acceleration, speed, & handling 🤷🏼♂️

Is it good on gas ?
It's not bad, the LT4 z06 is worse im sure since it's Supercharged, but it all depends on how you drive, I'm not crazy speeding all the time so it doesn't affect me bad
Uh....don't close it like that. I have a '16. You "set" the trunk lid down and lightly press. The auto-close engages and will close the hatch lid.
But mine doesn't have the auto close latch
Not on a 14! I have to close my 14 the same way he did! That didn't change until 15 or 16...

Hey man what is the tinting % on your windows?
The front drivers and passenger windows I believe are 35% and back and side quarter windows are 15%, I went with the legal limit on the front cause I want to be able to see at night through all of them!

@@TheRogueVette I used to have a 370z and it was a garage queen. Had me thinking I wasn't enjoying enough. So, with the C7 I thought I'd YOLO it to enjoy it. I don't drive it everyday either, only 5-10 miles to work and back, but I usually go for a 100-300 miles cruise every other 2 days and alot more on the weekend, that's why i rack up alot of miles lol

Yes sir, when you live in a big city and it takes anywhere from 45 min to over an hour to get to places in Bumper to bumper traffic where we aren't moving, it's definitely annoying having a manual. Been there done that, I'm over it.
