University of Michigan Admissions Changes for 2024-2025

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor has announced that for the 2024-2025 admissions cycle it will allow first-year applicants to apply directly into the Ross School of Business, the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, and a FALL (instead of the previous Winter) start Bachelor of Science in Urban Technology program at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

Umich is a top 5 ranked Pharmacy Program. However the profession is likely lost some interest due to stagnating job growth according to BLS numbers. They are probably doing this to compete more directly for students against Purdue, OSU, Pitt, Wisconsin and Minnesota, the other regional players in this field of study.
Overall, I have a suspicion that it might be better odds of being directly admitted to their BSPS program than its University wide admissions. That is the case for the others offering BSPS. Think of it as being on the other end of the spectrum from Computer Science or Nursing. Pharmacy is also heavy advanced Chemistry and is likely an order of magnitude more rigorous than a Nursing Program. The pool of freshman is small and perhaps shrinking.

Nursing programs are difficult to get into no matter where you are applying (even community colleges).
