This all girl pop rock band had a lot of hits in the 80's such as "Manic Monday", "Walk Like An Egyptian", "Hazy Shade Of Winter", "In Your Room", "Eternal Flame", "Following", "Walking Down Your Street", "If She Knew What She Wants" etc.
Yes, Dagmar -- I really like their rocked up version of Hazy Shade of Winter - usually I prefer originals, but I actually think this is better...
Mate, the world is pretty heavy at the moment and seeing your smiling face reacting to the fun that is this song cheered me up no end. ⭐
I second that
They were fun and had several hits. "Eternal Flame" is beautiful, "Hazy Shade of Winter" Rocks out, "Manic Monday" the ultimate having to go back to work after the weekend song, Nice man!
Thank you.
I kept thinking "Hazy Shade of Winter" was Wilson Philips, and couldn't figure out why I was having trouble finding it
I've never seen a person hearing this song without having a smile on their face. That is how powerful this song is
Bangles are a kick ass - awesome all female group. I would highly recommend Hazy Shady of Winter next. Followed by Eternal Flame and Manic Monday. Yes this video was a TRIP when it first came out. Hugs from Canada!
A couple of other girl pop bands from the 80's that you will like are 'The Go Go's' & 'Bananarama'.
This song was so much fun to listen to, you seemed to enjoy it too. Prince wrote a song for them, Manic Monday. Watched it all Adogg, thank you!
She was one of the beautiest woman in the 80's - and she is still smokin' hot - as well as her voice is.
Recently saw a video where she crashed a Karaoke show singing Eternal Flame (probably their biggest hit) incognito.
Mostly I love their cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Hazy Shade of Winter" - dang, that song rocks!!
Bangles "Hazy shade of winter" is my favorite of theirs. ❤️
Eternal Flame is a beautiful song too by the Bangles, Next one please!
These ladies rock. If you like this, you need to check out Hazy Shade of Winter and In Your Room. 😉 They are known for having some really beautiful harmonies and each of them sang lead on specific songs including the drummer, which isn't something you see every day. They are my favorite all female band of the 80s.
Everyone falls in love with Suzanne when she shows those doey eyes! The sexiest female group of all time and they had some bangars when I was a kid! I'm 42 and still can walk like an Egyptian when I hear this! lol
Susanna
Nope, my crush was Mickie Steele
The bass is from another planet!
The Bangles is an American pop rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. The band's classic lineup consisted of founding members Susanna Hoffs (guitar and vocals), Vicki Peterson (guitar and vocals), Debbi Peterson (drums and vocals), with Michael Steele (bass and vocals)
I never knew that Michael was in the original lineup of the Runaways, but left before they broke out.
Oh man this was such a huge hit back in the 80's, Still love it now!
To this day, all I need to hear is the little whistle bit... and I'm walking like an Egyptian 😁
Such a feel good song filming people doing the things makes it more joyful, so glad to see you enjoying it
Those eyes man!! I'm 47 now and still get me. Imagine being 10-12 years old watching this!!!
You got good taste, Adogg! Prince liked Susanna Hoffs too and even wrote a song for her and the girls- Manic Monday.
The Bangles were formed in the early 80's and were originally part of the 60's influenced "Paisley Punk" scene, much like their elder compatriots the Go-Go's. The band consists of two sisters, Vicki Peterson (lead guitar, which she absolutely shreds), and Debbie Peterson (drums, also amazing). Susannah Hoffs is the short rhythm guitar player with the melt-your-soul eyes, and Michael (Micki) Steele (formerly of the Runaways), is the bassist. They originally had more of a 60's influenced sound but developed into their own style as the 80's progressed. All four members sing lead on different songs, and they were also known for their very tight harmonies. In terms of vocals and musicianship, probably one of the most underrated bands of all time. They broke up in the early nineties, but eventually reunited as a quartet for some time and released some really quality albums. Michael Steele eventually left, but the band still appears and tours as a trio. Vicki Peterson is really active, playing for three different bands if I recall correctly.
Okay. Time for your lesson in Bangle-ism.
They were at the time a four women band in an era with a lot of strong, great female led or all female bands like Heart, The Go-Go's, The Pretenders, Joan Jett and Lita Ford.
At their peak, The Bangles consisted of...
Vicki Peterson. The first singer in the video and is the lead guitarist.
Michael Steele. The second singer in the video and is the bassist. She was also in another all female band called The Runaways (which also had Joan Jett and Lita Ford as members)
Debbi Peterson. The whistler is the drummer and the younger sister of Vicki. She has a beautiful singing voice. Check out the Be With You video to see for yourself
Susanna Hoffs, the third singer is the rhythm guitarist. Her being classified as the lead singer is a misconception. The record company decided to release her songs as A-side singles. They all did lead vocals in different songs. You need to get their albums (All Over The Place, Different Light, Everything and Doll Revolution) to see for yourself. They all have great singing voices
My favorite song in high school still do the bangles were my female band
This was a HUGE hit! we all would do The Egyptian! lol. Check out Manic Monday!
I was in the 4th grade when this song debuted.
They idolized the GoGo'S and the runaways which were the first two all female bands. Lita Ford and Joan Jett were part of the runaways they are icons. These bands including the bangels paved the way for bands like Vixen. The bangels changed music in the late 80s early 90s they help revolution music for women and had fun doing it
I loved the Runaways. So much talent in that band.
Michael/Micki Steele was a founding member of the Runaways, singing lead and playing bass. She left early on because their manager gave her the heebie-jeebies. Good instincts, as he wound up raping the replacement bass player, when she was only 16.
So much fun and a HUGE hit so everyone did it everywhere. Watch Steve Martin do this on SNL
Susanna Hoffs... THOSE EYES!!!
Yeah, Susanna Hoffs. Looking at her will make you feels things.
Susanna Hoffs is the girl you said "she pretty" to at the end. Man she was FIIIIIIIIIINE! My first real musical crush, and honestly haven't had many since her. Check out "Eternal Flame"...its a slow jam but a real classic.
great reaction ! another really cool song by them is ( eternal flame )
This is classic MTV I was dating a blond that looked like the lead singer only blond those were the days junior year of high school if you liked that you are going to love the early 80s MTV
Lol, I knew he'd comment on Susanna's beauty just like nearly every other reactionist does at that precise time.
In fairness, whoever you are, it's hard not to be beguiled by her
Enjoy this WILD RIDE!!! Well worth the trip!!!🎶🎼🎵🎸🎹🥁🎧🎤🤘🤘🤘
The Bangles deserve to be in the Hll of fame.
They're not? That's a disgrace
"Hazy Shade of winter"was always my favorite, but they had several good songs.
Man, Susanna Hoffs with that slinky little side-eye... I saw that in my sleep back in high school. Incidentally, I see you're a football fan. If I remember right, that player at the end was Howie Long.
Maybe if you wanted to check out something similar - check the Go-Go's. 'Tonite' might be one of my favorite songs, although they had bigger hits. Lots of energy. Straight legit.
Nice reaction man. Thanks.
You just summed up the 80's pure fun
You MUST react to “Manic Monday” and “Hazy Shade of Winter”
Suzanna Hoffs was/is a real beauty. That look she gives with her eyes is iconic.
They were the first crush I had when this video first aired on MTV,especially Susannah Hoffs,it was her eyes that got me,then their talent was what really hooked me!gotta check out hazy shade of winter,or eternal flame.💖💖💖
She made me question my sexuality
Like the one from bananarama
I remember going to a bar in the 80s and my friends loaded up the jukebox to play this song 20 times and then we left haha
This came out when I was in the eighth grade and was the dance my group choreographed for drama class. God, we were terrible. Hah!
Bangles were pretty great as a girl group. They made seriously fun music, like If She Knew What She Wants and this. Eternal Flame & Hazy Shade of Winter are beautiful songs that show their more serious side.
I always considered Susanna Hoffs(the third solo) the most beautiful thing God ever created.
She's 63 now.... and still hot.
You should listen to Manic Monday
“She’s pretty, I like her”
An entire generation of boys had their voice change in that very moment.
I love this song and your reaction! Can you react to the song “Beige” by Yoke Lore, highly recommend.
Suzanna Hoffs is the singer.... Grrrr man, very grrrr... Rowr🤩🤪
"...she's pretty. I like her" ~~ said no one ever 😂😂🤣🤣😊😊
Hazy shade of winter, another great one from them
Bangles - have to check out this one next!!! - - -Hazy Shad of Winter - Manic Monday - In Your Room
At the time Susannah (the short one) became every young mans dream. Definitely had those bedroom eyes
I love ur reactions, A Dogg! Your so cute and seem like a fun dude to hang out with! Keep up the great work!!! ❤👍😃
Listen to Manic Monday by The Bangles, they are an awesome band.
I showed my Straight Egyptian Arabian stallion at liberty to this song. He really strutted his stuff to the beat. He was drop dead gorgeous. 😊❤
Would’ve loved to see that! Did you place?
@@estills4768 that show was at an Alkhamsa convention in Paso Robles California. It wasn't judged. Just Arabians that can reasonably traced in all lines to the desert. We did show him at a local Arabian show . He placed 1st. Then we showed him at a Sport Horse show, he placed 3rd.😊❤ If I could figure out how to do it I would post a picture.
@@luckylady7542 ❤️
Oh man! My teenage girl crush band! This was such a cool video!
She’s pretty! Said every teenage boy in that era when she did that look with her eyes!! 😂
All the guys liked her back in the 80s. Eternal Flame is a great song
Everyone did x
My comments are that she has the most beautiful eyes of any woman out there!!
Manic Monday is one of my favs. Love from Oregon 🇺🇸
Man loved this one when it hits the radio danced and sang every time lol 👁️🤷💁🐘🤷🐫💁🐪💁🧘
I love the smile on your smile as you walk. It's a great fun song. Manic Monday is a great song.
Best girl band ever !
Omg this one took me back! I remember when this came out. I don’t care what music you liked you walked like an Egyptian!
I wanna go back 😞😎
You rocked the reaction brah. Keep going on with your bad self! All respect to you. Please walk with our savior Lord Jesus Christ. 'Nuff said.
Everybody was walking like an Egyptian back then. Everyone but me. I was walking like a Mexican...LOL
Bangless - Eternal Flame
Bangless - Hazy Shade of winter
Bangless - If she knew what she wants
Susanna Hoffs - Unconditional lova
Bananarama - Venus
Sam Brown - Stop
Since you like fun music check out Bob Dylan’s Rainy Day Women # 12 and 35.
👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Good one!!!
Yes she is pretty she remindes me of Teresa my girlfriend in highschool !!!
ah The Bangles. Beautiful ladies with beautiful talent. They were a fun 80's band. When they put out a Greatest Hits album in the early 90's, I wore out that cassette, and later on the CD :)
Dance like an Egyptian.
Suzanna Hoffs 1:04 was my childhood crush. I think Eternal Flame was the video that made me fall in love with Suzanna Hoffs, it was 1988, I was 12
Greatest girl band of all time imho. They could all write smash hits, play musical instruments at a professional level, and sing. Eternal Flame, Be With You, If She Knew What She Wants, Going Down To Liverpool, Where Were You When I Needed You all highly recommended.
Susanna Hoffs, the short brunette guitar player, is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I'd like to be a roady for them. 4 girls. The first guitar player and the girl shaking the cymbals are sisters.
They put the Go Go's in the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME?! I sure hope this MUCH better band is in then!! This song alone is better then the Go Go's entire CATALOG!!
They came out in 1986 they banned song because of people possibly being offended. I currently watch u just discovered this. But they call everyone out every country
Susannah Hoffs is definitely the driving force .. she's amazing
Hazy Shade of Winter was good by them.
The Walk Like An Egyptian dance was based on the old Egyptian art (and Camel Cigarette ads from 80 years ago) where people were always shown in profile with one hand in front up high and bent forward, and one behind down low and bent backwards. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to a younger generation than hasn't seen that stuff, like the King Tut exhibit, etc. In the 1980's though, everyone knew what they were talking about.
hieroglyphs. Peace, Love!
@@kylesummers1565 That's the word I was looking for! Thanks!
The other big all girl band in the early 80s was The Go-Gos. "Vacation", Our Lips Are Sealed", "We Got The Beat", etc.
Indeed, lead singer Susanna Hoffs is imho 1 of THE most beautiful women to ever grace the stage, even to this day at age 63 (just google her pics, STILL stunningly beautiful!)
React to their songs Manic Monday, If She Knew What She Wants, Hazy Shade Of Winter, In Your Room and Eternal Flame please.
The girl you think is pretty is Susanna Hoffs. Prince wrote Manic Monday for them. Check it out.
Check out VENUS IN FURS by Velvet Underground
Have you checked out black sabbath
War Pigs video or Planet caravan 1970? Two totally different songs by same band.
It's impossible to do a reaction video of the Bangles without dude commenting how hot Susanna Hoffs is...
Susanna Hoffs was... bar none the dream girl when I grew up in the 80s. Also this band kicks ass.
Manic Monday of theirs was written by Prince. I think part of the whole Egyptian thing then was that there was a traveling King Tut exhibit in all the major museum. Check out this hilarious Steve Martin skit, very early SNL which picks up on the fad:
ruclips.net/video/FYbavuReVF4/видео.html
The blond that does the whistling is the drummer.Check out manic Monday on a Monday it will make more sense 🇨🇦💖🇺🇸
I really liked your reaction to this video!!! Another video of theirs you should watch is "Manic Monday" and I know you only watch videos of people who donate to your channel but I was wondering if you would ever watch a video of someone who subscribed to your channel?????
The shortest Bengal is Suzanna Hoffs. Every teen boy in the 80s was in love with her. Im 55 and im still in love with her.
That was fun to watch you watch. For another fun 80s groove, check out Walk of Life (Dire Straits).
Funny truth is not one Egyptian has ever walked like this… only the hieroglyphic depicted pictures like this on the pyramids … then this band makes this song that mis represents the Egyptians, but it’s a great song back in the days👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
This is pretty much their worst song and doesn't really show their true sound. They were heavily influenced by 60's bands like the Yardbirds, Cream, and the Beatles. The label forced this song on them and they absolutely hated it.
Fun stuff.. 80’s happy.. I hooked up with a little chickadee that looked just like the lead singer 🫢😎
Their best songs were never singles. They were a successful all female rock band. All 4 sang lead. They did have a keyboardist who was a man(2 men played with them over their career). Their strength was live performance.
Hit like before they began, they're the bees knees 💯
Absolutely must check out Eternal Flame, beautiful ♥️
“That looks so fun!”
Feels like I haven’t heard that spoken genuinely in a number of years
Thx brotha
