@@ZephyrFate I think it'll sorta be like that. I think it's just an alternate timeline where Zack lives instead of Cloud. Cloud dies from poisoning and never joins avalanche. We see Barrett and Tifa dead on stretchers presumably because Cloud wasn't there to help. Maybe they eventually converge.
I'm interested to see what they do with Zack, originally it looked like Zack survived in an alternate timeline but maybe somehow that Zack is in this timeline with an alt version of Cloud to boot. Poor Cloud already has enough identity problems.
You're right! I am completely surprised how bad this game looks graphically, even worse than PS4 open world games like Horizon Zero Dawn and AC Origins. How does this make sense in the world. Folio vending machines? SO can anyone in the FF7 world just bust out their neat folio moves with their pals after buying a folio from a fucking vending machine? Like I dont get it. Video-Gamey... I guess we are playing a game after all...
Honestly, i just wish they just picked up from where DoC ended for a continuation of the story and the remake was just faithful. It would be great playing as Cloud and the party in their AC outfits and maybe teaming up with Genesis and Weiss to destroy Sephiroth completely in a final game of the Complication. Too bad it will never happen now. I didn't like the story of the FF7 Remake but the gameplay was still fun so I'll give Rebirth a fair chance. At least gameplay wise. Story wise though, yeah it lost me. I'm the minority here though so glad to see other people enjoying it and I'm more than happy to talk about the game at the end of the month.
I’m right there with you. They should have just expanded but not change. The whole arbiters of fate and possible multiple timeline thing is all dumb nonsense. And now Sephiroth is a reoccurring boss rather than a mysterious figure who slowly gets unveiled who he is.
@@luisgustavopecanha5507 Yeah, and everybody knows Darth Vader is Luke Skywalkers father. But it’s about the delivery and execution that makes it amazing.
'It'll be nothing like it's predecessor and that's an exciting prospect.' Why exactly? I own thousands of games with different stories I can play. What I can't play is a modern retelling of the story of final fantasy 7 and this isn't it. When you get excited because something 'subverts your expectations' I just get sad knowing for how many people this will be their first experience with ff7 and they kingdom hearts/advent children'd all over the original story. It makes me sad. Moving on.
Because if you want the original story, play the original. It should be respected because it's the same writer of the original. That should be okay. If you don't like that, that's okay but it should also be okay to like the remake more as well.
@@matthewloredo3665 I do still play the original on occasion and that's fine for me. I wanted the story retold for more modern gamers who won't be able to tolerate the older art style and combat system. That's why I wanted a remake, so the story would move on for a new generation. Not this garbage they're putting out. Doesn't matter whose credits are where. A lot of people had input on ff7 and they all contributed to it. Some more than others in different areas. The thing about that is those same names are also attached to train wreck storytelling games, and having played those I have no faith when they take this many liberties with the original. That's why following 'auteres' is inane. Sometimes things go in a way you don't care for. I'd take 4x more metal gear styled games than death stranding
I was all for expanding the story. Fleshing out characters that were underdeveloped in the original game like biggs, wedge etc. I was good with the idea of adding additional side quests that expanded the lore of the FF7 world. But I was not ok with them changing the main story and quite frankly, it felt like nothing less than a complete betrayal. And for that betrayal to take the form of a lazy BS time travel story mechanic was just plain unforgivable. It's not Final Fantasy VII. It's just another arrogant writer who thinks he can rewrite a classic story, screws it up and then sells his crap to all the original fans, by calling it something it isn't. Promising a remake, but instead selling a rewrite. And a crap one at that. I will not be buying the other two parts.
Sorry to break it to you but the production team of both the classic and new FF7s are predominantly the same people. Including Yoshinori Kitase and Kasushige Nojima who were the writers of the original and producer and writer for the Rs.
There's a fan theory that FFX takes place before FF7 in the same universe. One of the Al Bhed in FFX-2 mentions something about wanting to harness the world's life force to create energy to help the world. Or something along those lines. Could just be an easter egg though
I do worry that by expanding the story they are just spoon-feeding us the ‘under the surface’ lore that made the first game so mysterious and interesting. You had to dig deep to understand Sephiroth and Zack in the original.
I'm a bit worried about this game tbh, sure it looks like fun in terms of gameplay, but the story seems so different and i'm not sure if it's in the right way, characters seem a bit off too, seems more like a fan fic than an actual SE release
Agreed. Removing turn based is an awful adaptation…that I can reluctantly get over….but playing ffvii remake, it was waaaaayyyy too short, way too easy, and just felt off. I was disappointed and prob won’t get the next one
Don't forget that Sephiroth basically waiting for 4 years (Remake release in 2020), a next leap year cycle, to initiate his reunion plan.. In previous trailer, Sephiroth hint that reunion in Rebirth will be happen in much larger scale than reunion in og FfVii so it makes sense that Sephiroth want this reunion happen in next leap year cycle.. Also the fact that Square Enix pick 29th Feb this year, a day that only appear in leap year, as Rebirth launch date make me realise that we, as player, will be become part of this reunion event because we mostly play this game when it comes out..

im scared that we're gonna be watching 2 timelines, one with zack one with cloud, and they don't meet, i hope im wrong, and i really really hope the timelines unite if im not wrong
My current belief is that when they stepped out of the rift at the end of remake, the world and history was Remade. It’s not parallel timelines. I think what everyone forgets is that tifa found cloud, he recovered, and joined them on the bombing mission in a short span of time. Zack’s chapter is probably him going to find aerith while essentially the bombing missions happen at the same time. In the present of this timeline, they are chasing sephiroth, with Zack trying to catch up to the party. My working idea of all of this is two fold- 1. Sephiroth is going to try and kill tifa, since he knows she’s the one who puts cloud back together again. 2. When he tries to kill her, aerith pushes her because she knows her role AND tifa’s in the whole thing. The rebirth subtitle is that sephiroth is going to take over Zack’s body and be reborn- remember the sephiroth we chase is really jenova, sephiroth actual body is in northern crater. It’s basically going to come down to very similar circumstances as the original, but cloud will have the extra weight of knowing if he kills sephiroth, he kills Zack. Multiple interviews have said this is going to lead into advent children perfectly still, so aerith and Zack have to die, it’s just a question of how it all goes down.
I feel like this game is just created for both Newcomers and long time fans. Pulling long time fans with all the crazy possibilities and same story for new players! Can’t wait to see where this all ends up tho! I do like how they make Cloud react to Tifa in the flashback tho. It makes sense to us long time fans but for new players, they don’t recognize what’s happening! If you know you know 😊
I will be honest after I played remake I was definitely in the camp of people who did not enjoy some of the changes to the story. But my perspective has changed, and I am trying to enjoy this game more in its own right then as a technical remake of one of my favorite games from my childhood. With that mindset, the rebirth trailers have absolutely blown me away, and I am definitely excited to play this game. I really like the addition of character affinity and specific character interactions that need to be sought out. It kind of reminds me of the ATE in Final Fantasy nine. Definitely excited to see where the developers have taken it from here.
Thank you! I’m in the same camp! I came to realize that I knew every single little detail of the OG! Now I realize I want everything more fleshed out and a little freshness and that’s exactly what is being delivered. On that subject, maybe at the end of disc 2 we don’t need to…lose that one character. You know, so they can provide lots more content and storytelling in disc 3. Let’s be real. That chick is in the know and there was so much unanswered because of that death. Bugenhagen touched on that wellspring of knowledge we missed a little in the OG
I'm going to give Rebirth an honest chance, but I'm not sold on the story narrative. I won't post spoilers, but some key elements being changed don't make any sense (yet) and I'm worried they're making it more akin to a Kingdom Hearts game.
All I can say is that I hope it does surprise me because I was waiting and waiting and waiting for a playable demo and that playable demo that we got was just so underwhelming. The exact same untouched demo that people got over a year ago that they couldn't even compile to release to the Mass public decently enough to where even the other half of the DLC which will need to be replaced anyway comes out a week before the final release. I really hope that within this last year they have touched up the numerous amount of things add bugs that are wrong in this demo. I have listened to you since the start and I trust your judgment in fact if I'm not mistaken I even one time attempted to challenge your knowledge... So I can only hope that the good things that you say about this game will be coming to fruition. Because my hopes had dropped a little bit after playing that demo my friend
Instead of worrying about "realistic train schedules" they should've worried about fucking up the story with this entire fate ghosts / multidimensional time travel bullshit. Zack died? Naaah don't worry we killed fate itself and he can just come from a different dimension back to ours. Aerith dies? Naaaah, don't worry, she's alive in THAT timeline over there. I seriously hope they dial back this tired ass multiverse trope that ruins any stakes and consequence for every franchise that introduced it.
I believe they said you get access to a couple of summons right away if you completed the earlier parts, there is no carry forward, and this is a separate game.
It's not gonna be in the game. It was only in the OG to show off Sephiroth's strength, this time they just let you play as him to show off his strengh.
I played the original back in 97, and this whole experience has been pure joy. There is obviously a lot of corporate stuff going on, but it does feel like a group of people taking a great story and attempting to make it even better. How it all shakes out remains to be seen, but I've enjoyed the journey so far. This feels like what a modern game should, filled with story and diverse gameplay options. I just want them to keep doing what they are doing.
I still don't have a PS5, so I opted to build a PC. I'm not into the current lineup of exclusives, so there's no point for me. I've been able to avoid XVI spoilers and I'm hoping I can continue that with Rebirth. I'm just hoping the ports come sooner rather than later lol
The new rules of modern media, rather that be movies/shows/games/ect, females can no longer be either seriously injured or killed. So if anyone dies in the game it has to be male. Sucks, I know. I find that shit gay as hell.
It’s going to be do this mission again and again instead of higher end open world it’s going to look and play great but it could be so much more and bigger but I’m hoping
I watched this out of morbid curiosity. I 100%ed the original on Steam last year and it's always been one of my favorite games since I was a kid and it came out. such a major bummer we never got an actual remake, whatever this is I didn't want it. It's somewhat encouraging to see a lot of other comments that echo my sentiment.
This is gonna suck no Vincent or cid . What are we only going to cosmo canyon or even worse … we’re gonna have Vincent and cid with us for like hours and not be able to use them .
There's a group of people who have never played the original FF7 that I can understand enjoying FF7R intensely, as the battle system is fun and the characters are extremely emotive and intelligent. As a person in the group of having experienced the original and hoping to have that experience again, only embellished with shiny, new graphics and voice acting, I'm simply bummed. FF7 Remake left a bad taste. The blatant bloating of most aspects of the game combined with, not the changing of details, but rather the way they are changing these details, make this new series of games feel like I asked for cheddar and sour cream but instead I got sour cream and onion. There's a base here that's uncannily similar if you received one while asking for the other. It still tastes good. It's still sustenance, but because we're being fed, as fans, this group of people is expected to be silent. We are constantly bullied or belittled into not sharing these criticisms. We are expected to bow down and accept what is served, as it is considered what is deserved. We should like it because they fulfilled our wishes. I will first say that the answer is to simply bow out. Nobody has to like anything. Still, it's the massive disappointment in what feels like an incredible waste of potential-we wanted a remake, not Remake. This entire "remake" process has felt like a bait and switch. It's not a middle finger to this group. It's more so a finger over the lips, telling us to be quiet, love it, or go somewhere else. This is a good mindset in life, to not give something you don't enjoy any attention. While in the end, this will be my attitude, nothing should be immune to criticism. It's a pointless disgruntlement to share to the fans enjoying the game, because they see this new series of games as nothing to complain about. This then devolves this series of games into a product. I can choose to pay for and play the video game, investing my money, time and energy into this experience, or I can choose to completely ignore it. I can choose to have some fun or not. The question is, is it worth the fun when it comes with so much frustration? There's something actively abrasive about changing what you feel never needed changing. I wanted this game to emphasize what made the original Final Fantasy 7 a great game. They went a different direction. In the end, these are creative decisions. Movies, games, and TV, when considered art, are presented as the creator intended. They are exactly as they are meant to be. This is how they should be critiqued. I cannot fairly critique this game. Titling this first game in the series as "Remake" was like waving a flag at a bull. There are fans left feeling confused and misled and angry.-this is how this art has made them feel. This was mostly how I felt, except I don't feel angry. I'm more disappointed than anything. I consume art for what it is. Painting over an old canvas was guaranteed to lead to this split in the fanbase. I remember where I was when I heard the news about the remake-this is how big of a deal this news was to me. The assurance that this remake was in the works, something I had wished for since 2005, was another reason for living. I will live to see the most rewarding nostalgic experience ever imaginable! We live in the best timeline! This is still my takeaway. The original can't be taken away. I'm eternally grateful for the Final Fantasy series. It's been a never-ending source of inspiration. I identify closely with the characters, worlds, and stories. The direction taken in this new FF7 series, which should be considered an entirely different canon, was never going to be exactly what everyone had hoped because we all hoped for different things. This a state-of-the-art video game. This is one of the most beautiful presentations of a video game anyone has ever seen. The scope is not lost on me. Many fans are having a wonderful experience, but it's clearly not what a lot of fans were hoping when they were wishing what this game could be. It's a disappointment is all that it is. It's still art, but it feels like the remaking of art feels only derivative. The internet is an awful place to share opinions, as you're met with so much vitriol. It keeps me from really interacting with anyone else in the fanbase, as the share of distaste for the way this series of games is being handled, when it moves me enough to express in such words, is still likely to be met with nothing but hate under this comment, if anyone is even to read this comment. It feels like I'm an angry man yelling at the clouds in the sky. I wish it didn't make me feel his way. I wish I were as hyped as everyone else. I don't believe in getting in the way of other people's enjoyment. These games are what we have been offered. Its amazing that people are this in love with these games and characters and adore everything Final Fantasy has to offer. I feel like a weirdo in this fanbase, one where I can't exactly find my footing at the moment. I feel like I have no voice at the table. I feel as if I offer my feelings towards this franchise in a room full of fans, I'll be relegated to a corner. It's certainly not popular to feel the way I do. I'm left out of what others consider a celebration. I have nice things to say about these games, just not anything interesting to say. I'm not invested in this story. It's a worse telling of an original story that I hold dear. I'll still have my old games, that's great. Just wish I had my old friends, too. None of FF7 Remake, Rebirth, and the untitled third game interest me. It's a video game. For that reason, it's fun. The story, the characters, and the events are not the same as the original. That is instead only what I wished for. Just didn't get my wish. I'll always be a fan of Final Fantasy, but I've turned into a curmudgeon, at least that's how I'm treated. I have so many loving things to say about Final Fantasy. It's truly disheartening that I can't share that sentiment about these new games. I'm happy for people that are happy. I just feel left out. The direction of Square Enix, and more specifically Final Fantasy, is just not in my interests anymore. I think I'll cope! It's not like a Meteor is coming or anything. It's just a fucking bummer, man.
I just couldnt get past the Hogwarts Dementors unnecessarily thrown into what is essentially one if the most vital scenes in the game- When Cloud and Aerith meet for the first time in the ruined streets of the destroyed Mako Reactor. Aerith herself just seems out of character in the beginning, they turned her into some Japanese Popstar personality in the remake. That being stated - If you can just let the true FF7 fade away in your heart and come to terms with the fact we are never getting a Remaster, then the Remake is actually somewhat enjoyable.

we are all still that guy who is in a suit and ends up screaming on top of his chair, perched like a bird, going "NO, NO IT CAN'T BE".
I just beat the demo I like what they do when you are turning the valve and when you are crawling at the end where they make the l&r 2 buttons stiffer
You guys deserves more views and subs!!
I just want Jenova expanded on.
Lol weirdos just really need to tell ppl they're not playing. Ohhh OK baby
ironic
Yeah how dare fans of the original want the game to live up to the original . Let’s let these goofballs make a new game with robe men that sucks and is full of filler content and not say anything . Lol don’t piss on me and say it’s raining when we can’t even play as Vincent or cid
I really wish this was coming to PC at the same time as PS5!
I still will never forget sitting in highschool watching that trailer it was the reason why i bought a ps4 back in the day just for it to finally drop at the end of the systems life
Could you consider doing a speculative video regarding the question of Aerith surviving the end of “Disc 1” in the remake trilogy?
What is the piano music in the background of this video?
Look up TPR final fantasy vii
Looks amazing omg! So much info, so much to delve into. Watched it twice now lol!
Another awesome video!!
Where did you get all those cutscenes from? I don’t recall them from trailers and the state of of play?
They got early access
@@nathanh6439 Right…
I think it's actually better so far.. the world's colliding between Zack and Cloud.. it's going a bit deeper into the world alive and the lifestream world. I wouldn't be surprised to see Zack save the lifestream from within to get it to help the Holy spell. I like it
I’m very positive Zack’s side is everyone who has died or will die in the original universe and being in a different universe created by the lifestream. Based on “on the way to a smile” side story
@@ZephyrFate on the way to a smile is a prequel to Advent Children and takes place in the original timeline.
I hope it's a super smooth launch. Really amped for this.
You're right! I am completely surprised how bad this game looks graphically, even worse than PS4 open world games like Horizon Zero Dawn and AC Origins. I thought it could at least be on par with FF7 Remake, especially since we are going on 4 years of PS5 hardware. It totally wasn't what I was thinking it'd be! How did they do that?? 😮😮😮
Not sure what you was watching but part 2 looks league's better then the 1st part.
So is the Folio system replacing the weapon upgrading I hope not I like the thought of being able to playthrough the whole game with the Buster Sword.
That’s what I love about it the changes and the corrections that they made.❤❤
I really hope Sephiroth will be playable in the postgame or perhaps even throughout parts of the story
They said after you beat the game you can go through in chapter selection and choose other characters to play other than cloud.
@@NerdAtWork Fr? Nice! Would be great if we could use him in the open world too
He's playable in the first chapter! Check out the demo! Starts with the events of Nibelheim!
The piano minigame is a lot harder, but also a lot more fun
Do you think they will save playable Cid and Vincent for episode 3?
That first trailer in the state of play was something else. I know i needed to look away, but i physically just couldn't.
Alright, finally gonna play through Remake haha. Amazing vid!
I want to be here for it. I want to love it. I am excited to play it.
But at the end of the day it is still not what I or many of us asked for...
Lots of new very Video-Gamey gimmicks in this one too... Uhoh better hurry up with that dialog choice!
Also the folio system seems cool mechanically... but why... in a story sense what even... How does this make sense in the world. Folio vending machines? SO can anyone in the FF7 world just bust out their neat folio moves with their pals after buying a folio from a fucking vending machine? Like I dont get it.
Video-Gamey... I guess we are playing a game after all...
This has the potential to be the greatest FF of all time. Please don't drop the ball with the story Sqaure Enix.
Already did whisper man
Honestly, i just wish they just picked up from where DoC ended for a continuation of the story and the remake was just faithful.
@@nba21129Even people that never touched a final fantasy game know who sepiroth is. It makes no sense for him to be mysterious anymore.
@@luisgustavopecanha5507 Yeah, and everybody knows Darth Vader is Luke Skywalkers father. But it’s about the delivery and execution that makes it amazing.
I think the story was garbage too and I think the game play has a lot of filler
@@luisgustavopecanha5507so your saying most people who haven’t played know that’s jenova… ok I don’t think so but whatever you say
I've played the demo 7 times and watched MaxDood play it 4 times. I'm ready.
Tifa actually might being a clone would destroy everything for Me
Yes, it will surprise...in the wrong way.
'It'll be nothing like it's predecessor and that's an exciting prospect.'
Why exactly?
Not a reimagining. Its a SEQUEL!!
Its not really a remake though is it its a sequel 🤷♂️ half of the game doesn’t even make sense unless you played the original.
Folio….suspiciously looks like a sphere grid. Are we getting close to confirming they’re the same universe? 😮
There's a fan theory that FFX takes place before FF7 in the same universe. One of the Al Bhed in FFX-2 mentions something about wanting to harness the world's life force to create energy to help the world. Or something along those lines. Could just be an easter egg though
Only problem with the theory is if they came from space to gaia… why would shinra need cid to invent space travel
@mikewehr7887 Shinra forgot I guess? 🤷🏼♂️
@@nekomorph17 yeah I’m not buying them going from interstellar travel to like basic ass 1960s rockets lmao
I think rebirth will play exactly like the OG until the very end when everything will be turnt upside down
What a great channel. Ty
They still haven't released the remake yet? I thought they did that ages ago
I peaced out after the ToA stuff, and that silhouette of THAT ONE goofy guy, w/the 8 arms, and the 8 goofy swords. Lolololol.
I've already seen too much! Internet Hiatus! 😂💯

@@TimoteoJuan89 that's no spoiler ^^
The devs already showcased his tease.
I got legit emotional during the state of play. At one point my wife asked if I was trying to catch flies.
In a few weeks, we will see if Aerith lives or dies.
I like the folio system- It feels like a much more refined Sphere grid system of FF10
It reminded me of that as well.
im scared that we're gonna be watching 2 timelines, one with zack one with cloud, and they don't meet, i hope im wrong, and i really really hope the timelines unite if im not wrong
Sephiroth has been saved to Cloud storage.
Why would anyone play rebirth without playing remake? They're literally giving remake away for free when you buy rebirth.
If you know you know 😊
Long time fans hate it we’re not getting Vincent or cid plus they massacred it in the first game story wise
Im down for any and as many changes as they want to make, I just want to Omnislash that maniac at the end.
Beautifully done
15:33 A M-M-Meteor Campaign!? Oooh noooo!!! 😂
I'm loving Rebirth, but I do still hope that they make an FF7 - The original, which is just a remake of the original.
Tbh, ive avoided watching any trailers about vii rebirth so thag when I play it im not hyped up in a way that the game can't come close to meeting
You can always play the original where they do die, but I would like a possible different outcome for Aerith.
I'm most likely going to wait and see how they handle save file from previous game, especially on pc .
I believe they said you get access to a couple of summons right away if you completed the earlier parts, there is no carry forward, and this is a separate game.
It better surprise me with aerith living. Imagine playing a remake, and it still results in her predictable death and further heartbreak 💔 😅
It's a remake of high demand. That demand stemmed from something. IT better be what people think it will be.
It’s already too late they massacred it with the first one
I just wish it was on PC, that 30 FPS mode looks dang good but man does it hurt the eyes
Not really much of a difference, but the 60fps mode sure is a difference.
Omg i cannot wait to see the Midgar Zolom!
lol Same
I wonder how Beta is going to look
It's not gonna be in the game. It was only in the OG to show off Sephiroth's strength, this time they just let you play as him to show off his strengh.
Remake isn’t in the same timeline as the original. You can change Aerith’s destiny this time around if you know how.
With part 2 of FFVII, it will be the latter.
My guess is that they will go on some weird alternate path/story. She wont die. or Tifa will die instead
The new rules of modern media, rather that be movies/shows/games/ect, females can no longer be either seriously injured or killed. So if anyone dies in the game it has to be male. Sucks, I know. I find that shit gay as hell.
I said to my buddy, why is swueenix allergic to money??
It’s going to be do this mission again and again instead of higher end open world it’s going to look and play great but it could be so much more and bigger but I’m hoping
I watched this out of morbid curiosity. I 100%ed the original on Steam last year and it's always been one of my favorite games since I was a kid and it came out. such a major bummer we never got an actual remake, whatever this is I didn't want it. It's somewhat encouraging to see a lot of other comments that echo my sentiment.
You mean we wanted a Remaster.
that game is like u think just buy m i see the completed game better as the old ones.
Where it fails: You already beat sephiroth some hours ago so you wouldn't be impacted about how strong he was
Im gonna crumb
You have the most therapeutic voice
Buy physical disc of rebirth because you do not own digital version even if you purchase it.
Looks amazing! Never wanted a complete remake of the original!
