This size of screen is a great all rounder. For those that don't have the budget it's worth noting a 55" TV has the same hFOV as a 49" ultrawide.
Switched to a Odyssey G9 a week or 2 ago. Man does it make a crazy difference in terms of visibility and immersion! Cheers
Glad you're enjoying it!!
Hi nice one ! What fov in iracing do you use , i have the same monitor and it’s awesome
Impressive driving Scott! I would need to have the AI set to something like 50-75% to be able to stick with them in the rain like that LOL. I like the POV style of video!
My take on rain. Exceptionally well done, with a couple glaring bugs.
1: Close quarters spray is realistic but no way the rain lights are on any car. Way too dim.
2: Unrealistic wiping pattern. Real life the arc the wiper makes does not flicker out of existence each wipe. It’s distracting.
3: Few instances of tracks with invisible puddles. Donington in particular. Braking under the bridges is instant death.
Same with brands Hatch before the fast right hander in sector two, car will just lose it like you've hit a puddle going across the track, but visibly I can't see standing water
So there is a setting that resolves this. iRacing haven't really explained the graphics settings well so I will do a short video on it. I've had my own issues in get stuff to show up in sim too
I havent done any racing in tin tops yet so can't comment on that but the rain lights are the biggest issue atm which they have acknowledged the are rectifying
The SF light damage model seems to be a bit more friendly than the past open wheelers, I've found so far, hope it remains the case!
dude, what setup are you using mate? I barely touch the throttle or slightly turn in rain and go flying. You are ripping
Baseline wet. Remember to move your brake bias rearwards. I had it at 48.5 here it massively helps
Make sure you swap your tyres. Sounds like you're on dry's.
Can I know on what you have taken the video ?
how are you mounting this ?
Thanks !
I have this mounted overhead my rig with the following boom arm www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B09MQ9GPCZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Love this angle Stuffey, haven't tried the light yet as just got a B license so practicing in the SF for the new season. One bit of feedback - do me a favour and make the steering wheel disappear or move, my OCD is killing me.
I am getting an upgrade from the csw 2.5 that u have ti an asetek base. I really recommend it as that wheelbase is constantly having problems
This is where having the racing line on is good
It's straight up cheating 😂
I’m really interested to see what they do with rain in the official season. The prelim schedule has “fixed sky” for every rain enabled car series, no mention of rain or strength of rain.
They could never put rain like this in a season as people just won’t participate. My guess is they will max out in light rain or moderate rain for a very short period of time.
Would they be red flag conditions IRL?
These conditions wouldn't be red flag I think as this was only on the moderate setting but I think this is top end of what you would be allowed to race in. I think they have put fixed sky on the schedule for just ease of print. On sim the sessions do state the percentage liklihood of rain and I think this is what we have to look out for
why not vr? is there a vr that can give such fov?
Yes it would give more but for being comfortable and making content on this is much easier
How are you liking the super formula lights?
Back to the fanatec?
No lap counter
In the relative bottom left of your screen
I see one…
Can I have a turn???????
Love the screen but as viewer it's worse viewing from this POV angle rather than just screen grab.
Appreciate the feedback Tom. Just gotta try mix the style of content up every now and then tho
