In todays video I will be installing the and giving a short review on the MX5things regular sized wind deflector with a cut-out for the Mazda MX-5/Miata ND and ND2. In my opinion this is well worth it or if you can get a similar option.

Installed the XL version. While the wind blocking is so much better, it’s almost impossible to put the top down while seated due to the height. But the trade off is almost no wind buffeting in the cabin with the windows up.
I can imagine it is great for the wind buffetting! The main reason for me not getting it was what you are saying with the operation of the soft top!
Only highway miles I have done with my car is more or less to and from the tracks :D
Only a ponce would drive his sports car with the windows up.

I too have issues with the wind deflector. Its more to do with mounting my camera for recording.
I have the RF so it came with the clear plastic deflector, but its very flimsy resulting in shaky camera.
I really can't believe how stable your video coverage is. Is this due to the camera and the camera mount? Or does the acrylic panel not shake that much?
Also wondering what camera and camera mount you're using, that camera pan is epic 👍
thanks! The deflector itsef is very sturdy as I have had in on the track with a camera mounted to it! The camera I am using is the Insta 360 One R with the 360 mod supercool! I did a bit of research on the cam. I actually thought your mount was motorised, but its the camera that does the effect. Pretty cool, I've never seen that before.

Awesome videos you make - thanks - keep up the good work. One concern I have about the acrylic wind reflector, is that acrylic tends to be scratched very easily - what is your experience with the acrylic wind deflector on that subject ?

As it is plastic it will be scratched if not handled with care, e.g if you want to clean I would recommend first to rinse it then wipe I clean. Similar to washing a car the cleaner the paint before you touch it the better.
Glad you like it, but for me in this case I actually prefer the OEM piece. This just looks rather cheap and flimsy to my eyes (even if it's actually not).
the more airy feeling and that I can hook my camera to is really nice. Have a clear piece there really made a big difference in my opinon
Not flimsy at all, I have it.
I will also mount such a Plexiglas part. Unfortunately, after Brexit, it is now difficult to order something in the UK, as customs clearance is tedious and expensive. Will see if I can find a reasonable part in the EU. The USA isn't an option either, although there are many parts there that you can't get from us, but unfortunately the same customs problem.

Does the new deflector affect the pulling the top up or pushing it down?? Is it harder, or same as the oem?
as it is a bit taller it is more in the way compare do the OEM one in lack of better words. However it it nothing that really bothers me to be honest

Have you tried it at highway speeds? My biggest disappointment with the ND is the excessive cockpit wind compared to the NC. I would like to have a wind blocker that does its job better.
This is the 6.5" variant?
correct it is the 6.5" variant with the cutout. To me it feels a little better than the oem one. I am on the shorter side(167 cm on a good day), however I can barely feel anything in my hair doing 100-130km/h
Are you considering the vantrue n4 dashcam 3 camera system

How is it with the windows down? Looks clean.
I would say as OEM, quite windy at speeds. But agreed it looks really good

@@haiboj4979 There is a bunch of stuff coming apart from the parts that already are installed. Will be installing front splitter, side skirts, grille, lighting, spoiler, exhaust, diffuser...
I really like the spyder grille but it's so expensive to get here in Europe
