Glad to see it in good hands, I saw his rollover video he posted after it happened. You've probably fixed more ND's and NC's than any other shop at least in this area!
It’s completely unacceptable that the drivers head made contact with the ground. If this happened on the road with no helmet, it would be fatal or at best a totally ghoulish, crippling injury.
HA!!!!! I loved that Intro!! Interesting thing about Hagerty Insurance is that the MAX covered is $175,000 (no matter what the agreed value is - that's the limit to repair) - then they total the vehicle. That’s impressive really when you think about how much damage can be sustained. T-Rex was supervising those measurements at (8:31). HAHAHAHA!!!! That’s some TRUTH from O.D.B!! Always keepin' it real!
If insurance is offering to replace the lights, I can't imagine why the owner would want to keep them. Is the insurance policy one where they just cover a percentage of costs or is it the typical "pay up to deductible and then insurance overs the rest" I wonder.
Also, too slow with corrective steering. The Miata already rotates very quickly due to the short wheelbase. This gets exacerbated even further when you add in sticky tires. They have a higher "yield" limit, but when they do let go, they let go more rapidly than some hard all-seasons since you're working with much higher slip angle forces and such.
We do but I am booked up for the foreseeable future. The race teams are already calling me from the Daytona race and I really need to get done work done on my GTR. I can circle back to you when I get an opening in the shop.
@@RebuildRex I appreciate that. I can always plan ahead a good ways, and it's good that you are busy. Do you have a webpage or way I could reach out to you?
This mx5 suffered frame damaged or engine damage ? Because i heard the engine at the auction and sounds little different. do you recomend to fix for dayly use ?
The engine did run for a few minutes while it was upside down. Not sure if it hurt anything, seemed to run ok when it was at my shop. There was minor frame damage as well. Would probably make a good daily driver if repaired properly. Thanks for watching!
No sir, It is a Chief Tram Gauge that I’m not sure if they ever make any more. I think the MoClamp Tram Gauge is a very good option though. Thanks for watching.
The tires where BFGoodrich g-Force Rival and had plenty of tread. I’ll have to ask him exactly what happened and get back to you. Thank you for watching!
He didn't counter steer fast enough to correct the slide. Then he added more steering while simultaneously backing off the throttle. This transfered weight to the front tires which were then turned way too far to the right. From there, it was all over. If he had instead realized he wasn't going to save it, and simply put both feet in, he would have slid straight or a little to the left and been fine.
@@RebuildRex ah ok, just from watching your video, to me it seems like a clear total, it’s way too messed up in too many places lol. Anyways nice video and thanks for the response man! And good luck if you gotta fix it!
In this case the hoops never touched the ground. The windshield pillars held up the car. I guess because the rollover was mild as far as rollovers go. Thanks for watching!!
He wasn’t hurt at all. I believe his head was on the ground because his belt wasn’t tight enough which let him hang upside down with his helmet touching the ground. It was a good thing that he didn’t get pinned in the car.
man, seeing that 30th anniversary take a flip hurts
I know! Definitely scary and sad footage. Thanks for watching!
I love the KOBE!!! Awesome video! and that intro from the hangover was hilarious 😂
Thank you! This is my most popular video. Maybe I should make more like this one.

Thank you very much! We have definitely repaired our share of MX5’s. 👍
Could you tell me where can I find video?

No problem. Thank you for watching my videos!

Super job on this video -- really clever editing / visual effects! Bravo!

Wow! I didn’t know that about Hagerty insurance. Great job on finding the T-Rex! And as always, Thank you for watching!!! 😁
Looks like you’ve taken apart a few of these, Rex! Always nice to see an expert do his stuff!
I’ve definitely taken apart my share of MX5’s. I think I could probably do it with my eyes closed! 😉
Thanks for watching!!
I love the editing style, keep it up!
Thank you very much!!
Wow! The pucker factor was high when I saw that car roll over! 😳
Definitely!!
It's great to see how these are put together
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching!!

He was wanting to keep the cost down so the car wouldn’t be totaled by the insurance company.
Those dang race cars! GTR! GTR! GTR! Lol
I know right!! 😬
man that windshield just crunched
I know right! Thanks for watching!
Another awesome video my brother! Keep the great content coming.
Thank you very much!
@@RebuildRex your welcome
I’m usually not a fan of orange… but I really like that color!
I really like it as well. Thanks for watching!
OFF OFF OFF OFF / ∞ Haha another great video sir! Thanks for making these
Thank you very much and I appreciate you watching!!
It's a terrible feeling being upside in the middle of the freeway facing the wrong direction
Definitely, not good when your helmet touches the ground!! 😳
Great video Rex! 😆👍
Thank you!
“Kobe” lol
😂🤣
looks like you were having a little fun...I like your basketball throws...
I definitely was! Thanks for watching!!
Hahaha love the intro!
Thanks for watching!
Glad dude ok. The dudes in nd Miata track junkies on Facebook. Putting a roll bar in mine currently.
Putting in a roll bar is a great idea, especially in convertibles! He was pretty lucky that it was a low speed rollover. Thank you for watching!!
man very unfortunately crash last minute rolling over
Definitely! Thanks for watching!
Come on man, no need to flip out
😂 I see what you did there.
Cool video!
Thank you!
can u do a video on the rear fender removal of a nd
Definitely! Thanks for watching!
First video I’ve ever seen and I loved it I subscribed and will watch more for sure
Very cool!! Thank you very much!
crazy for the gtr to come out
I sooo want to get it back on the road!
Looks like he took his foot off the accelerator when he should not have...

Ok, how is this car allowed on track without a roll bar?
I know right. Track day event.
Love the video! I'm curious, would you be able to sell parts from this car?? Thanks!
Thank you! Unfortunately the car totaled and was picked up by the insurance company and sold at auction. Thanks again for watching!
Great video! Where do you guys happen to be located? The crash was at CMP, and I'm hoping you might be close to me in NC.
Thank you! We are in North Georgia. Let me know if I can help in any way.
@@RebuildRex Thanks for the quick reply! Do you take in full spray jobs? Mostly track car type stuff.

I dont see how he crashed. How do you lose control like that in an Mx5? Can someone explain?
I guess the old saying is true. “ Stuff happens “ 😂
😢 Noooooo!
Definitely sad!
Was that the MoClamp Tram Gauge you were using for measurements?
No sir, It is a Chief Tram Gauge that I’m not sure if they ever make any more. I think the MoClamp Tram Gauge is a very good option though. Thanks for watching.
Great video
Thank you!
A track Miata without an aftermarket roll bar?
I know right! It’s just a track day car but still would be better to have a one.
I would be interested what was the reason for losing control? Bad tyres? Didn't look too fast 🤔
The tires where BFGoodrich g-Force Rival and had plenty of tread. I’ll have to ask him exactly what happened and get back to you. Thank you for watching!
@@RebuildRex would be much appreciated. I'm planning to do track days with my MX-5, too. Always interested in avoiding mistakes.

Guy is fairly new to driving fast on track it seems. He did not react to the oversteer at all
Any update? Did it end up being a total? Or was it repaired lol
The insurance adjuster said that it was going to total but I haven’t heard for sure yet.

so the factory roll hoops were effective as a roll over bar?
In this case the hoops never touched the ground. The windshield pillars held up the car. I guess because the rollover was mild as far as rollovers go. Thanks for watching!!
@@RebuildRex Kinda of looked like his head/helmet was holding up the car as well...hope the driver walked away without too many major injuries!
He wasn’t hurt at all. I believe his head was on the ground because his belt wasn’t tight enough which let him hang upside down with his helmet touching the ground. It was a good thing that he didn’t get pinned in the car.
CMP only 45mins from me ouch
👍 Thanks for watching!!
You can’t replace a 30AE!
I know right! It’s probably going to be tough. Thanks for watching!
how much costs to repair this car ?
We didn’t repair this one because the insurance company totaled the car. Thank you for watching!!
