I wonder if you could help me. My driver seat is the same alcantara suede material as yours. Mine is a LEXUS IS200, that is now 20 years old and the suede has piled. What would be the best way to remove piling? Also the passenger seat has water mark stains from a wet bottomed passenger, best way to remove those? I'm wary of the suede what with it being so old
@@iRiselyTech you can use a lint shaver (hope you call it that way) which is also used on clothes for example As for the stains, try brushing some fabric or all purpose cleaner onto the surface and wipe it off with a damp microfiber towel 👍
@@CarCleaningGuru Don't mean to sound pushy but if you ever get around to clean etc of Mercedes-Benz C Class or E Class could you make video of it if possible. Thanks!
Car Cleaning Guru Hey, a sponsor is a sponsor. They should put your voice and vocabulary on their official trailers, the monetary and player base gains would be off the charts!
Yep, exact same problem here! I'm constantly broke after watching all these darned detailing videos and my wife thinks i'm absolutely bonkers for buying all this detailing stuff! Mr. Guru even inspired me to buy a GEORGE numatic vacuum/extractor combo but I must say, it's the best damn detailing vacuum there is! PERIOD. Once you buy a numatic detailing vacuum, you'll throw away your typical shop vac, I guarantee it. Plus, the GEORGE (Instead of the HENRY) has the added benefit of being a really nice upholstery extractor too! Two great machines in one.
Definitely a interior glass cleaning vid!! It’s the most frustrating part of my car to clean! It always still has residue no matter how many times I go over it with a dry cloth, tried some expensive cleaners too and even just good old distilled vinegar, but still no success 🙁
not a huge fan of sponsors that doesnt match the content, BUT im very glad you got some support!!! love your vids man, i hope that some day "big" detailing companies will sponsor you! keep on the amazing job
I found your channel a few years back, and I watch alot of detailing vids overall, but hands down you are my favourite detailer EVER. Very clearly and well presented content. The Guru is the real MVP!
Great video as always - I'm looking forward to your dedicated interior windscreen clean that you mentioned. I've been constantly struggling to get a streak free finish after trying lots of different glass cleaning cloths/microfibres, immediately after cleaning it looks ok, then once the sun shines on it a few hours later I notice loads of frustrating streaks!
I find Autoglym glass polish leaves a streak free finish, but it does drop the white dust down onto your dash which you have to hoover up after. If you're using a spray, use a small amount, wipe it over the glass, and let it dry. Then buff a lot with a very clean microfibre.
Get a minky glass and window cloth.. they are amazing and get rid of all streaks!! Apply product with a cloth then use that as a final buff and voila! Saying that had a few smears left over today but I didn’t clean them properly first, will attempt tomo as dragging out these things to fill in some time 😂😂 I use Koch chemise fse to clean mine
After watching this Mr. Guru, you inspired me sir. I just did a complete interior clean to my own 370z although I did a bit more. Even broke out the George extractor and steamer to do a really deep cleaning. My car is 6 years old and it still looks brand new. Of course it's not driven a lot, it's my "toy". Thanks for posting sir. I enjoy all your videos. I've really learned a lot from you and your postings have honed my detailing skills a lot.
For cockpit electronic displays and screens I always use Aero-Sense Wet & Dry wipes on my cars and motorbikes, they work really well and will not show indication of static electricity charge leaving no streaks after cleaning , I'm an aircraft tech and we use it on the big birds.
Try Chemical Guys - Total Interior. This stuff is amazing and it’s good for all interior materials including Glass and Sat Nav Screens. Also provides a thin layer of UV Protection. I was literally blown away when I used it.
I use one of the Dyson mini turbine heads for car carpets. Doesn't get the edges or corners but works well on what it can get at, especially thin carpet in a boot. Much quicker than using a crevice tool.
Only discovered your channel, recently. Love it. I'm not a car cleaning kind of chap, but watching your vids has inspired me to maybe forgo the roadside washes and start doing this stuff myself. I also find you vids very relaxing.
That's a really good tip about cleaning screens and gauge clusters, to use a soft detailing brush and vacuum to remove loose dust and dirt. I've scratched gauge clusters before. ☹
Regular car maintenance is essential...I had a Merc with 158 000km on when I sold it. Interior looked brand new. Current vehicle has 30 000km on the clock and the interior is cleaner than a car in the show room...and so is the outside.
I really like the Alcantara! I vacuum and dust my G35 every week; it's spotless! I only use light soap and water for the really dirty parts, coffee spills in the cup holders and dirt on the panels in the foot wells. No Alcantara but, I condition the leather a few times a year. You can not underestimate this step if you live in the southern part of the U.S.
Another great video Mr. Guru! Thanks also for showing that Alcantara doesn't need "special" or "dedicated" expensive cleaning products to get succesfull satisfying results. The company's that sell these special cleansers would lead you to believe that if you put anything but their products on the Alcantara, it will just dissolve and melt away. Not so. In fact, most often, you can use a simple APC to clean Alcantara. Granted, you still have to use a little common sense here and not over saturate the Alcantara with product, or scrub the Alcantara with a hard bristle brush, but it was great to see you using a general purpose type of interior cleaner to get superior results! Thanks also for showing how you used the product by spraying a little into a microfiber cloth, agitating, and sopping up the excess product while rubbing back and forth to clean the Alcantara. Excellent demonstration. Most Alcantara (which is a synthetic product) is pretty durable anyway with proper care and will provide years of faithful service, hence why more and more vehicle manufacturers are using it in their seating, door panels, steering wheel covers, and now even the headliners. It does get matted or "shinny" if not maintained properly (which is why many people don't prefer it) so it definitely does need "routine" maintenance to keep it looking great for years to come. Properly maintained though, Alcantara can be an excellent interior surface material and comfortable to sit on too!
I love the interior on this beast, nothing unnecessary and everything is made from good quality,my mk7 as half and half seats like this just the other way around, great video man, sweet car
Sixty Seconds of Stephens yesssssss!! Spent ages doing mine today... thought I’d done an amazing job till went out in it 30mins later and wishing I’d left them dirty tbh 😂😂😂😂
My shift boot might be the part that gets the most dirty in my vehicle. It's not my floor mats. Because I always sit first, then before putting my feet inside, I kick my shoes together so that the debris that are under them fall off. It helps a lot, there's never a lot of debris on the floor mats and carpet. It seems that you too do that.
Everytime I clean the interior I always wash the carpets with carpet and rug cleaner, and then use a plastic trim cleaner for the dash sides of the seat (they're plastic) and the door cards
Try Saanro Black Magic for the interior plastics, i use it to get the scuff marks off plus nice smell and satin finish rather than the shiny sticky one i used to get from other silicon based cleaners and good to see you caring for the leather, some car owners do not realise that there is a few quids worth in the car and it needs looking after because of the environment it is kept in. Sometimes extreme heat and cold.
Fantastic video. So glad you didn't use annoying music! I personally use chemical guys inner clean and it smells great and works well. That 370z is a beauty.
Hi Sir McDonald! I admire a lot your work and comments. One great product I have used for alcantara is from Sonax. They also have protection product for alcantara too. Although your vehicle is so clean that it may only require protection. Thanks for your inputs from the other videos you have. Detailing is my side job since I have a regular job during the week. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
I use Chemical Guys INNER CLEAN. It works well leaving a factory finish, smells nice and can be safely used on Instrument and Infotainment screens. I follow up with Optimum SPRAY WAX on the aforementioned screens, giving them heaps of protection.
Dear Guru, When you are recording the video of cleaning glasses, i highly recommend you to try this below. You will love the effect. Soapy water ( yes hand soap block in the water ) spray it to your glass and wipe with microfiber towel. After that spray with clean water and wipe it. After take a big chunk of news paper ( the old style paper ones not magazines ) and just a little spray to the glass again and wipe it with news paper. Oh Thank me later.
I just got a new dump truck. Lots of plastic and glass. Got a gray rubber floor mat. Door to door. I use Tire shine on it With a knuckle brush and wipe up with a Terry cloth towel. It's got a paddle shift on the column automatic so no gear shifter boot in the floor. It's a used truck and after it's first cleaning theirs dirt inside the gauge cluster..
Autoglym Interior Shampoo (for maintenance cleaning), Built Hamber Surfex HD 1/20 for heavy cleaning, 303 for dressing and Gyeon Prep for glass. Adam's Brilliant Glaze also works great on glass.
I know you said you would anyway but when you eventually get round to the window cleaning video can you address micro scratches and pitting that tends to plague high millage cars(definitely not the 370z), because even though you may have a "clean" chip free windscreen these almost unnoticeable marks can make your windscreen almost impossible to see out of in the right light.
I dont like to touch alcantara with the vacuum I usually put my finger under the head to avoid scratching it. Also after washing I go over the surface w a horsehair brush, on the wheel I use a ultrasoft childrens toothbrush to make the fine alcantara strands stand up again. :)
Please can we have a video that concentrates on cleaning door shuts? It’s something I’ve always neglected when cleaning my cars for fear of soaking the interior with the pressure washer. A video going over the best method of doing this properly would be great! Love your videos by the way.
I never use water in my door jambs, because I clean them often. I use a spray on car wash, spray generously, and clean with a thin microfiber so it can get through intricate places. Love the rags Company small Pluffle for that use... it is a drying towel but so soft... After that I apply whatever paint protection I use on the car, most often it will be beadmaker, or optimum car wax. Easy and it makes the next ckeaning session easier too !
I found with the brush attachment on the Henry that it caused light scratches on the interior on my previous car. Admittedly, it was a French car, and I think the interior plastics are very soft on them, but all the same I avoid it now just in case. Great work as usual though mate! I hate to say it, but I wish you were able to produce more content (busy as I’m sure you are).
Btw, I forgot to mention that I had a Nismo 370 on press loan a few years back and though I liked the car, I found that the combo of me at 6’4 with long legs and a non adjustable steering wheel made it very uncomfortable. How do you manage it?
Yet again another superb video... "My attractive carbon knob" "Six weeks of playing with it" I'm amazed it hasn't fallen off.. "Going to get grabbed again soon".. pmsl.. Thanks for all the great vids. Stay safe.
Would love to see a tv show in the future in which members of the public have 30mins to clean their filthy cars and the guru casts his expert scouse eye over the end results and declares a winner. "The Great British Crud Off".
i've got some weird sort of residue from a previous owner (maybe? or it was replaced, no idea, used car) on the passenger side window of my car and i've tried to get it off once or twice but I've never really gotten around to really going at it. it's on the inside of the window. a full glass cleaning video would be great.
A quick question regarding cleaning the outside of the car. If I take a clean car out for a few hours and it just gets dusty, would you wait until it needs a full wash or would you safely remove the light dirt and if so, what is the best way?
Great question. You can use a rinseless wash or even a good waterless wash for that. Couple of minutes and you're done. However, I don't think these are really designed to handle heavier dirt-particles, like sand. So you might inflict some scratches. But that's what I believe. Optimum No Rinse or Opti-clean are the ones I'd recommend. Maybe a quick pressure wash first on the kicked up dirt from the tires and on the front lip for the safest wash.
If the car is protected, just hose it down, use an air blower and finish it off with Sonax BSD diluted 50/50 using a damp microfibre. You can also try DDsi by Bouncer's Wax after every wash to keep the car dust-free for longer. If you can't use water, get a foamer pump and use a Waterless wash product such as Pro-kleen's. It works great too.
Rik Heijne brilliant, thanks so much for your advice and keep up the great work on your presentations, I’m sure they slow you down but they are great for the enthusiasts like me 👍
Joe, once again a deadly video and another reason I badger my sister who lives just outside Liverpool to engage your services as she’s a neat freak like me with the cars and two, I loved how you kept your credibility promoting that game without trying to sound like an ultimate game guy and lastly a question: given the type of car and the cool shifter and steering wheel, have you ever thought of driving gloves to keep out any manky residue ?
great video Joe, 'not case of got no mates', more like don't let mates in the car to make a mess, all helps keeps it clean/saves you time!, you wait until you have to get make-up off the dash and door cards, due to 'driving too fast round the corner' contact by my wife's hands! 😁 Hate doing interior windscreens glass cleaning, 3 different glass cleaners in some cases. How about cleaning all the nice high gloss black plastic that car manufacturers put everywhere you touch, that stuff scratches just looking at it (same as the external door uprights).
Be good if you done a video on the differences between your Z and your old C30. Pros, cons, what they're like to live with and how you got on with them using them for your kit 👍

Proper mesmerising video this one. Loved the knob cleaning tips too as I’m the only person I let touch mine and it can have a tendency to get dirty.
Much appreciated! I’ve had my car only 2 months so the tips will be put to use!
I would hate to be dust that just landed in this car
i've got some weird sort of residue from a previous owner (maybe? or it was replaced, no idea, used car) on the passenger side window of my car and i've tried to get it off once or twice but I've never really gotten around to really going at it. it's on the inside of the window. a full glass cleaning video would be great.
With that much cleaning and care, I would be more beautiful than 370z.
Driving gloves would be funny if I could find the right pair!
@@CarCleaningGuru now I have to scour the internet looking! Ha!
6 weeks of lockdown and that shirt still fits!!!
great video Joe, 'not case of got no mates', more like don't let mates in the car to make a mess, all helps keeps it clean/saves you time!, you wait until you have to get make-up off the dash and door cards, due to 'driving too fast round the corner' contact by my wife's hands! 😁 Hate doing interior windscreens glass cleaning, 3 different glass cleaners in some cases.
How about cleaning all the nice high gloss black plastic that car manufacturers put everywhere you touch, that stuff scratches just looking at it (same as the external door uprights).
"dirt doesn't like me" 😂😂🤣
Beautiful car! I very much enjoy watching your videos, and when I see one has been released, I get right to it!
you got the cleanest Z car in the known world
Quite possibly.
Be good if you done a video on the differences between your Z and your old C30. Pros, cons, what they're like to live with and how you got on with them using them for your kit 👍
Love the 3 videos on the nizmo Joe, you're piss funny aswell so makes it a pleasure to watch 😀😀
Nice to see your dash hasn’t cracked, yet.
How satisfying it is to watch a properly clean Z👍🏽 Is that the Nismo shift knob? I want for mine
Yes, soft plastic internal thread though so I had resort to super glueing and you will need a collar for the top of the gaitor from z1 motorsports.
The Mr Clean Magic Eraser works wonders on Alcantara
Those Kirkland towels are cheap and handy. Just do breakup a little though. I just use them for general cleans like doors and dash.
CNC vacuuming! Lol! Reminds me of how my old TV Principles Lecturer, Ken Parkes wiped the Blackboard clean! (Yes Blackboard, that's what it was called before racism was invented!)
Teasing with the Technic Bugati again. I know it's not the only set, show us the rest!
