    Anyone else notice gaijin saying essentially “isn’t it annoying how IFVs and APCs tank shots they shouldn’t? To fix that problem we’re going to nerf the M1 and Leo 2 by making more detailed modules.” Like straight up they’ve been getting more and more blatant with their Russian Bias.

      If you don’t want CAS just play simulator. Turns out WT players actually don’t know how to fly planes properly. Also in simulator bush bros are nonexistent because bushes actually obscure your vision

    I think if they did the first option a few BRs at a time it could be ok, for example if the did 11.7 down to 9.7 or something like that, it will create some problems however it can work if they do it right

      Releasing it in BR waves would be the ideal way. Would not want them to do like they have with custom loadouts and jump all over the place adding tanks to the updated models.

    I know having to deal with light vehicles is annoying sometimes, but the answer is not to make the game even more annoying.
    Also, they talk about adding more modules, but I've seen nothing about what that will do to the repair time.

    Light tanks might be meta but they're not nearly as bad as CAS spam. Something needs to be done about CAS, maybe even forcing a cockpit/simulator view which makes aiming bombs much harder.

    Funny enough about stun mechanic, when i played 2 hours ago, a marder was barraging me and i have notice a notification that gunner is stunned.
    Also the teamkill is broken, when i played still 2 hours ago with a lower BR of 6.7, i shot an enemy tank and the bullet passed through that killed my ally instead which is wierd when the Teamkill is disabled (Here's what happend)
    I was playing as a m41a1 i tracked an enemy hori production and i was on its side and my ally also arrived a marder from the other side, when i shot my gun the wierd thing was that the Hori didn't die but i killed my ally and it penitrated its lower area and was fuel exploded, which was not supposed to happen as the teamkill is disabled in RB/AB

    I knew it from the beginning, spall liners just ruined the flow of top tier. The moment I saw T90M get it I knew how it was going to go down. Before they got added I just assumed they were “there”

    more fires.... for some reason when i try and set an engine on fire it takes like 7 to 10 shots and when i get tapped on a radiator i'm automatically on fire and that includes the next hit to my engine to be guaranteed to set on fire again.

    Your idea to introduce extra spalling for light tanks would fix the issue 1000% better than a stun mechanic. It just comes down to would you rather have realism or balance?

    Hot take: I wouldn't mind the stun mechanic... but limit it to DERP guns, limit that to only high explosive shells that have atleast 3 kg of explosive
    Edit: maybe instead of a stun, just make the screen shake and wobble a little bit for a short while instead

    I'd love it if they added more modules to the tanks. Would be fucking amazing if you could finally damage the carousel on some autoloaders, because it would just make sense that if you kill a human loader, you wouldn't be able to reload till replaced and if you shoot the carousel they wouldn't be able to reload till repaired. The stunning is a good concept what a 100% should be in simulator, but not AB or RB.

      contrary to this belief, if you shot the ammo carousel the reload would infact stop, this would be due to the turret being shot into space and landing on mars

    I think the best way to have an effect on the crew without adding a stun mechanic would be to add a % reduction to the crew skill based on the damage level of the crew. If your gunner is yellow it has a 15-25% reduction in efficiency/proficiency, so you would have a reduced turret traverse, worse accuracy, etc. If the loader was orange you’d have a 45-55% reduction so loading the main gun would be slower, plus things like repair time and what not would be slightly decreased.

    Tbh some of those ideas could in some way be implemented into simulator battles, like the multiple checklists to put out a fire and stuff, and maybe in some smaller way even the stun mechanic or atleast lost of hearing temporarily

    They should make an event (separate from standard random battles) where each of these options for few first vehicles, let's say 10 vehicles at the same BR, can be tested. Give cool rewards for participating, like a decoration or camo for tanks, and let people know what's going on so they can check out the mechanics. Any event theme would work for it, I guess. And there are lots of opportunities for event themes around the year.

      it's not bad because it doesn’t offset Russian bias (which doesn’t exist but that’s a topic entirely different) but it just is something they could spend far more time fixing (like repair costs, bugs, quality of life and literally any other problem)

    With new modules does this mean more modules that need to be researched? Like how we have to research engine to have a better engine.

      I don't think you will need to unlock Hydraulic reservoirs . I would not be apposed to them added like new Hydraulic fluid or something so it does give tanks more modifications where the rest of the mods are lower in RP cost.

    i think a stun mechanic would be super annoying to have on everything, but it would probable make sense at least for large caliber guns. sometimes you would shoot 155 HE at an IS or Tiger tank and it just shrugs it off like it is nothing, which is pretty unrealistic. its a giant 40+ kg shell packed with explosives, it should shake the entire tank. maybe the stun shouldn't completely make it useless or immobilised, but at least slow some of the crew actions for a few seconds.
    but giving stun mechanic to every shell in the game would be very bad.

    I’m not a APFSDS expert but why does it explode when Hit instead of it being the charges above it in the Russian tanks

      iirc russian APFSDS has some propellant on the APFSDS. So even though its a 2 piece ammo its still can explode.

    stun mechanics should not be a thing. ffs just fix volumetric problems. yesterday I shot a ratel with maus from point plank range and somehow the front of the vehicle ate the whole round and it received no damage.

    I like the module change, do it by BR and it would be fine. Releasing all at once is a bad idea if some modules ended up being huge weak spots/shot sponge, now they have to change every single one of them. The stun mechanic could be interesting if implemented right. If they do it by crew member imo it has potential to be great.
    For example: a penetration that yellows the driver but not kill him locks the driving input for 1 second, 3 second for red. A penetration that yellows the loader stuns him for 1 sec and for red it resets the reload(he dropped the shell). A penetration that yellows the commander gives screen shake for half a second, and for red and black it stuns the crew for 1~3 seconds. Damaging the radioman could be disabling minimap including the one you call in arty with and just call in abilities in general(arcade). For gunner you can lock the input/stops the main gun’s movement for 1~3 seconds. All of these effect only happens once when said crew member enter the next stage of un-wellness, so no matter how much you shoot it with if he’s still yellow he’ll only get stunned once.
    I think if this can be introduced with lowering the lethality of APHE it could make the game feel a lot more realistic which is the exact opposite of what WOT did.

    the stun/concussion while also moving your aim up to 1/4th of the screen is bad, but the "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" ear noise would be cool. I'm against the blur or any other visual effects because it could hide the arrow indicating the direction from where I got shot.
    But they said they would implement this only for penetrating shots, which is "valid" in "the most realistic game yadayadayada", while bouncing shots or external damage wouldnt cause this.
    I'm kinda curious to see how it would look like prior to voting

    More stuff = more stuff Gaijin will probably screw up.
    I'd much rather have volumetric finally being fixed, barrels actually breaking and hull aim actually allowing you to aim properly.

    They need to over haul GRB. Like new main game mode for it. I’ve been saying this for years, top tier GRB plays awful, they need bigger maps less players and kills need to matter (more rewards from it). I get that war thunder is a “Simcade” but right now top tier plays like call of duty, and it’s just not fun most the time.

    The Stun mechanic reminds me of the Stun mechanic in WoT
    One of main reason why I left WoT.
    It Stuns you,slows you down,crew is scared,and the enemy can out reload you.
    It's such a stupid mechanic.
    A more realistic one would be shockwaves.
    A example would be when a high caliber Gun such as 152mm would cause a minimal amount of damage due to a ricochet or non penetrating hit.
    Best example would be a WW2 tank
    ISU-152 vs Tiger 2
    The armour even if non penetrated could be causing harm as to how much kinetic energy is been stopped.
    The crew would have a concussion.
    An alternative towards that Gaijin wants to add what is essentially WoT mechanic.
    At least they are transparent with us.

    I'm against all but crew healing for the simple fact that they would all make the game more punishing than it already is. Of course it should be somewhat brutal since they pride themselves on having a "realistic damage model" as in getting shells and shrapnel inside your tank is really fucking bad as it is in reality but these changes would make it even harder to fight back and at least get in some damage before you die. The way I see it, there's already so many things that can happen to a tank to prevent you from fighting back just after one hit even that you don't need to punish the hit tank any further. There's a nice balance of realism where you can't get your gun shot out to be able to fire or you can still swing yourself around on one track to get a hit for examples of things that could apply to the real world but these changes would push it too far into the realistic side while making "fair" gameplay, or at least as fair as you can get, get pushed to the side and ultimately the game would suffer more than it would improve and become more frustrating.

    The solution for the 2. Is just creat like war thunder testing server then update game every time they add new models to tnk and they test it then they put it into game. Plus they can make like 1000 or 100k people try the new models on tanks and they need to send feedbacks back so gajin know what to fix. Plus they can put 2 models on tnk in one update cuz they will be tested by players in test servers it would be great❤

    3:44 This is not how its supposed to work. You only get stunned if a crew member is hit and gets turned yellow for example, not if you are just getting hit which is what you are saying.

    Gonna be honest if they wanna add this they need to make the ranges and distance you fight at longer. That way missing is far more common. Half of war thunder is knife fighting brawling tanks anyway.
    Also stunning would make more sense in simulator and realistic mode not arcade.

      The distance issue is primarily due to the game mode being essentially king of the hill. You need to physically cap a point... in a tank..

    All of these changes are stupid and not needed, what they need to do is fix the crew, for what reason does my tank move slugish if my loader dies? Or my gun performance drops if commander or driver die? Like seriously fucking stupid.

    controversially, i actually would love to see the stun mechanic added, though not in the way they described.
    i think it would add a LOT (at least for me) to the game where if you are penetrated you hear a ringing and your crew shouting. I think it would add a ton of immersion and just make the game feel more real. maybe if they even just made it a sound option that you can just turn on? I would love to see it though. I wanna reenact those scenes from T-34 and Fury and this mechanic would allow for that.
    yes it’s a video game so i understand why people don’t want this mechanic, but for me, if they apply properly and make it so it doesn’t create metas specifically with quickly reloading cannons, i think a very short delay with a ringing (that you could maybe even turn off) would be super cool to see!

    I think the stun effect would actually be kinda neat for large and heavy caliber guns, like over 130mm. Those guns usually have such long reloads it could be a fairly balanced mechanic.

    The stun mechanic would be cool for only penetrating shots and had to be a cannon not an SPAA gun. It would be extremely nice for armor piercing factions like the UK or France that suffers from not having APHE. We are blatantly at a disadvantage and most kills take a couple shots depending on the engagement.

      The stun mechanic only works for penetrating shots that damage a crew member. Not for just any hits. So it works kinda like what you are describing.

    I get what they are thinking with the stun mechanic. Say you shoot a 2S38 with an APFSDS round that doesn't hit any vitals, they would still be stunned while you either line up another shot or leave, that way there isn't 0 effect to the enemy IFV that otherwise could just immediately engage you while you reload or before you move much at all.
    So long as it is implemented correctly, I think it might be good. But it'd be a very thin line.
