So you got the PSVR2 and didn’t play Resi8 or GT7? Red Matter 2 or Crossfire? Synapse or Vampire: Justice? You chose what the bat above all of those?… right

It’s be cool to have steamVR games known for making VR what it is now (Half Life Alyx 2, Boneworks, Vrchat) ones I’d personally like to see

let's talk about VR in general: I didn't enter VR for BS minigames like What the Bat, I came because long ago on psvr 1, it got right away Dirt Rally, Driveclub, RE7, Skyrim and it really felt like the sky was the limit. Unfortunately, after 6 years, the sky is very out of reach and big games like those only come sporadically. So I fully understand flatlanders pushing buttons in front of a TV in their latest trendy desirable big graphics franchise. Unfortunately for the likes of me already well into full immersion, we can only wait and hope the backlog keeps us busy...

You are right that there were many flat titles in 2023 that sought my attention from Mario & Zelda on Nintendo Switch to Hi-Fi Rush from Microsoft which I played on my Steam Deck to Spider-Man 2 and a ton of 3rd party games (Baldur's Gate 3, Diablo IV, etc) on PlayStation 5 (my primary console). But, except for a lot of Remnant 2, I mostly played PSVR2 games.
With all that said, do yourself a favor and play Synapse on that expensive PSVR2 you have collecting dust. I also highly recommend the two Moss games if you haven't played them previously, and Walkabout Mini Golf. There are a ton of others, but if you are looking for a place to start beyond Horizon and What the Bat, I've given you some solid choices.

I agree with the assessment that modern AAA gaming is too safe and predictable. For years I've played mostly indie games and never looked back. VR gaming is mostly indie and that is a match made in heaven to me. So far I've been so busy with VR and indie games that the only AAA games I've played this year are Street Fighter 6 and Like a Dragon Gaiden.
If more AAA games went VR would I play them? Of course, just because being in VR forces devs to experiment and innovate. Last month I played Asgard's Wrath on my PC and it was incredible, it's VR's God of War (2018) if not even better, and the sequel promises to be even more massive with a 60-hour campaign.

Yeah theres a lot of non-VR games that distract me from VR.
We need more titles like GT7 or RE8 where thats the best way to experience a AAA game

RE4 Remake in VR is coming, also games like Madison VR and Arizona Sunshine 2 are pretty neat.

At the least Sony should convert ALL of the VR1 library to VR2.

Slightly different take than the usual lazy VR is dead vids but does not attempt to actually give psvr2 a fair assessment. Felt like the hypothesis going in was this can't compete with flat gaming and I'll do everything to prove that.

I mean vr in general can't compete and will not compete with flat gaming any time soon. But I do like vr still.
