Logan likes people who tells him either directly or indirectly that his time is done like Josh, Mecken and Mattson for example because he likes honesty. Meanwhile, none of his kids dare to say it right on his face. Even Kendall who has on and off relationship with him still feeling remorse and guilty. Logan said that Kendall is not a killer even though he accidentally killed someone. The killer that Logan mentioned is someone who takes the risk and someone who brutally honest which Tom takes the criteria.

I feel like Ken's shame over the murder is exactly what makes him "not a killer" in Logan's eyes.
If Logan had done the same (and he likely has at least once) he'd have played it off as an NRP (Not a real person). He wouldn't have the guilt weigh on him.

Tom wasn't a killer though, Tom was a puppet who got lucky. He won because he was a puppet and got on the right people's good graces. Even after he became CEO, he was still a puppet to a random scammer, who was the real killer.

@@knurdyob Tom has some killer moments:
-He kicked out Nate on his wedding after learning of Shiv's affair with Nate
-When Shiv mocked him with Roman and Tabitha about him being an empty suit, Tom told her to shut up
-He confronted Shiv about their Open Relationship
      -He ate Logan's chicken
-He offered himself to be in prison for cruise scandal
-He double crossed Shiv by telling about the siblings' plan to take down Logan
-He answered Mattson's interview with humility and honesty even he doesn't care that Mattson wants to fuck Shiv

Being a killer was about unapologetically sacrificing one's humanity for the sake of the business. No remorse, just the literal killer instinct.
      - Kendall demonstrated he wasn't a killer when he left work to be at Logan's birthday in s1.
      - Matsson demanded Logan meet him on the day of Connor's wedding. Then he demanded Ken & Roman meet him on a business retreat to talk business shortly after Logan's death. Matsson was a killer.
      - Tom sold out Shiv & her brothers to Logan at the end of S3 which improved his standing with Logan. Then he missed Logan's funeral due to work which Matsson noticed while at Logan's funeral. Tom wasn't sleeping because he was busy working for the election night chaos. He took the deal with Matsson similar to how he made a deal with Logan. Tom proved himself to be a killer.

@@knurdyob Exactly, Matsson was the killer there. Willing to twist knives, lie, etc. And willing to completely falsify data to make money, just like Logan was clearly fine with given he made the equivalent of Fox.

What Mencken says about ATN is more or less true of Fox News (and cable news as a whole) in today's world. Pretty much no one under the age of 50 watches anymore

    • @JB-xl2jc
      @JB-xl2jc 3 месяца назад +6

Yeah, ATN is a pretty clear Fox stand in from the very start, all the way down to some of the "talking heads" practically being one to one.

Also if you look closely there are a bunch of times where tickers/scrolling captions appear, from momentary glimpses during mid episode scenes all the way to regularly appearing during the intro.
